We're here in the office season, but Dubuque is such a cool town that it's fun to visit whenever. This place is amazing and well preserved. Very quiet. The owner is so nice and gives you very clear instructions for check-in, etc. he knows a lot about the history of the home and Dubuque, it was fun to talk with him. Rounded out with a nice breakfast. Would gladly return!

Me and my mom came for a 2 day trip. We were immediately greeted by the Innkeeper who was very friendly and showed us to our room. Check in was a breeze. The place is fantastic and has a lot of history. The breakfast was great as well, the innkeeper went above and beyond. 10/10 recommend and would stay here again.

This place is AMAZING! It’s so clean, spacious, and well kept. The location is also
wonderful. The rooms are great and the breakfast was wonderful. The innkeeper is one of the most friendly people you’ll ever meet! Always smiling and saying hello. I wish we could stay here every time we are in Dubuque. I wish I could have given ten stars for everything. Will be back for sure.

Redstone is an iconic older hotel, that has tremendous character. It is a fun place to explore and stay. It does need some changes, windows etc. but one cannot expect modern, chrome and glass in an Inn that has retained the character of this one.

This was such a fun and unique place to stay while in Dubuque! We could walk to everything we wanted to see in town, and the breakfast made each day was delicious! Robert was a great host and the room (and hotel in general) was interesting and unforgettable.

Robert is great

The property has so much character, but some of the decor is a little worn-out and dated. Breakfast was nice, if a little rushed. Owner is very knowledgeable about the property's history, as well as Dubuque history.

Very old run down mansion that needs a lot of TLC

Great communication prior to check-in. Robert the Innkeeper was very helpful and did a great job with breakfast. Property is within a couple blocks of the main drag and the riverfront.

This was a different place than we usually stay at, but thought lets give it a try.
Built in 1894. Quite old world. Our room was on 3rd floor, no elevator! Room was in need of some updates, but quite comfortable. Breakfast was great and Robert was more than helpful.

The owner was welcoming and had a good sense of humor, made me feel right at home. Good breakfast. Nice, quiet room. Good location, but may need to pay for parking (parking meters).

This was such a unique place to stay. The inn has all the history and charm you would expect from a 130 year old property, from the furnishings to the architecture. Beautiful. The bed was comfy. Breakfast was delicious and served with hospitality. We enjoyed chatting with the innkeeper. Another plus is that it is in walking distance to downtown restaurants. Dubuque impressed me and so did the Redstone. If you want to stay somewhere with history and character, this is the place.

The Redstone Inn is a wonderfully restored 1894 mansion in Dubuque; the architectural detail downstairs and on the stairs was particularly beautiful. My wife and I stayed here during a cross-country road trip for 3 nights, which provided enough time to visit some of the sights in downtown Dubuque. The Innkeeper, Robert, was very welcoming, helped us up to the 2nd floor with our luggage, and provided a nice breakfast each morning, as well as conversation after breakfast. Our room wasn't large, but adequate, had a nice shower, and a comfortable bed. There was access to Netflix on the TV, which we took advantage of. The only issue I had was getting up the front steps with all of our stuff (more our fault then theirs). This was a lovely stop on our road trip.

Really enjoyed our stay here! The property is lovely--an old Victorian house with lots of stained glass, nice furniture, and charming architectural details. Staff was friendly, the breakfast was great, and parking was easier than I expected (since we were there over a weekend it ended up being free). There were also lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance. We had a great stay!

Booked because we wanted a unique place to stay. Staff was very kind and friendly, bed was comfortable and everything was clean. Building itself needs some care, wall paper taped to the walls, some of the appliances were very old, Expected a little more for what we were paying.

This is a cozy little b&b. It is an older building, so it has some small issues, but nothing to distract. It was clean, the staff was friendly and breakfast was decent.

Lovely old building with many period furnishings. So much to see, beautiful woodwork and scrolling. Even the curtains look like originals. The morning breakfast was served in a quaint set up in a dining room area with coffee, egg bake, fresh fruit and assorted pastries. I believe it was the owner who does all the work and served us breakfast. He was very friendly and informative.
Very nice sitting room to relax and an open porch with seating.
We had a nicely decorated room with a mini-fridge and an assortment of goodies to munch on. The only negative would be that we could not open the draperies or shades in our room.
It was an easy walk to bars, eateries, boutique shopping and to the Fenelon Elevator. No problem getting an Uber when we wanted to go to the marina to go on the American Lady Riverboat.
We can't wait to go back to Dubuque and will definitely stay there again.

We stayed for the weekend and had a wonderful experience. The innkeeper was very welcoming, easy to reach when needed, and shared wonderful stories about the property. There are some cosmetic updates that needed to be made to our room, but overall the property is very clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay again!

Had an enjoyable stay at The Redstone Inn. My husband’s band played a late a concert at The Lift. We were out late so we didn’t spend a lot of time in the room. Room was clean and pleasant. Breakfast was tasty. Enjoyed speaking with Mr. Chu, the innkeeper about the history of A.A. Cooper and his contribution to transportation and the way west. There will never be another home like Redstone. It’s a beautiful bit of history, Go see it.

For the price this was a fun alternative to the typical overnight hotel, the innkeeper Robert was helpful and accommodating.
It has a homey feel, for better and worse, if that's the kind of thing that would bother you this probably isn't the hotel for you, but if you think old stuff is cool and want to try something different it's a great option.

We really enjoyed the decor and interaction with the owner
