The power was out for an extended amount of time. No heat or ac no light. The poor front desk lady was bundled up in tons of layers and had a glow stick as a source of light. She was incredibly sweat and nice but driving up at 11PM and the whole hotel being dark is terrifying. We got up to our room with our flashlights and got into our room which was extremely cold and the blankets provided were super thin and not helpful with heat so my wife and I had to sleep with our clothes on.

Worst Motel 6 stay ever!! The front Desk knows that Room 106 has mold in it but they still continue to let guests stay in this room. They do not fix anything and just clean the room and let other guests stay there. After complaining the next day they gave a room on second floor which was ok.

Luz at checking was amazing very cordial and welcoming. Had to call downstairs regarding check out time and spoke with Sandy she was extremely pleasant helpful. We'll definitely come back if work brings me this way again

Rooms were small but clean, it served its purpose we were only in the room to sleep. They have a blow dryer and iron but you must ask for it at the front desk, it’s not in the room. Coffee and tea are available in the morning in the hotel office. You are walking distance to several restaurants and Albertsons.

The desk girl was very friendly when we checked in. She was super nice and informative. Room was smaller than pictured.

It’s an expensive area to stay in, and this place is cheaper. Bare bones, no frills. A perfect C. Not a D. Not a B.

This Motel 6 felt safe & clean, and the gentleman at the checkout desk was very friendly and kind. Yes the property is dated...but it's hard to get good deals on hotels in the Santa Barbara area, and I felt this was better than I expected.

Pee smell from air conditioner in first room. The front desk was able to move us to one without that odor. We had some loud talking guys outside our room around 11 pm when trying to sleep, but couldn’t reach the front desk until morning to report it. Despite this, it’s an inexpensive option.

No lock on bathroom door, very small, nit enough wash clothes, dirty curtains and dingy bedding

Check-in was super easy, room was very clean. Love that they are pet friendly. Easy to walk downtown for food and shopping, and just down the street is an Albertson’s grocery store. Only downside is that currently (Sept 2024) a lot of the workers that are doing road work on Hwy 101 between Carpinteria and Santa Barbara are staying here, and they go in and out with the large semi-trucks and trailers. It’s noisy with the loud engines and the beeping when they back up.

The property is in need of a renovation. The staff was great and Zen was super friendly and helpful at check in. Great neighborhood and walkable to near shopping center. Very quiet.

With lots of traveling lately I’ve stayed at a few Motel 6’s and this one was by far the best I’ve stayed at. It was clean, property well maintained, and I felt safe. I stayed there during the heatwave and the AC in my room worked great. My only complaints would be the toilet paper, it shredded easily. This was an easy fix, I just bought my own at the store that was almost right around the corner. The other concern was that there was only one side of the bed that had a plug in/usb port. Other than that, it was a great stay and I would come back.

We normally stay at a nearby hotel. We chose motel6 because it was half the price and had 8 stars, our minimum. Room was very clean and simple, we requested a first floor room and were accommodated. Staff was very friendly and check in was very quick.

Bad cell and WiFi. The other patrons of this fine destination were typical Motel 6 clientele.
Try going further into Santa Barbara for a nicer place.

All the dining options around this motel close early (around 8pm), even the fast food joints. The motel staff were all very friendly, and the room was fine apart from the dirty laminate flooring. However, all we could smell around the property (and inside our room while the air conditioner was running), was cannabis. This (and the noisy neighbours) ruined our stay.

We were arranged to room for disable because we doesn’t want to stay in 2nd floor due to lots of luggage. The room was spacious, has microwave and fridge but with very bad smell from the linens and the air condition.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room met our basic needs. But it was pretty basic. I could see some of the rooms had been updated but we were in one that hadn’t been. It seemed expensive for what it was but it was safe and clean and had plenty of parking. So all in all… it worked. :)

A motel 6 for $150 a night will always be a disappointment. I don’t know what I was thinking. Towels are cheap and don’t smell nice. Soap is cheap and too small to use in washcloth. Shampoo in foil that you can’t open. Room was super small because it was an ADA room and the bathroom was most of the space. If your room is in the inside ring near the pool it might be better looking but the outer ring closer to the parking lot felt unsafe, sketchy. The TV didn’t fit the opening, so there was plywood showing. No breakfast, no towels at the pool, no cream with the free coffee. They are just not set up to charge this much with out people feeling hugely unhappy. I would never stay here alone with young kids.
