Perfect location on the seafront. Great breakfast.
4.0 / 5.0
Positive
Very clean and well run. Excellent very substantial breakfast and great staff. The single room has a (restricted) sea view and the location is right on the front. Food is served daily with some vegetarian choices. My meal was very nice.
Negative
The room is small and expensive for a small single. There is no ‘real’ coffee in the room but bottled water & biscuits were provided. It would have been nice to have some fruit as an option for breakfast (grapefruit segments even).
My main gripe was the shower. It has an eco-head (I have one) but the angle can’t be adjusted so a full blast into the face is on offer as the shower cubicle is too small to manoeuvre in. There was also nowhere to put my own toiletries and I ended up having to buy a little bag to hang on to the shower fittings so I could put my sponge and soaps in. (soap & stuff are provided in wall mounted containers). I hope you will put in a shower cady after reading this!
Clothes storage is limited to a few hangers on the wall and 2 drawers (which already contained a hair dryer and a fan). I did though manage to find enough space to do my yoga practice.
ALL IN ALL, IT IS A GREAT PLACE TO STAY.

A lovely place for a short stay. Clean and even had binoculars to look out to sea.

It was our first time at The two life boats first the positive review the food was amazing and the staff could not do enough for you in the restaurant. The only downside was at breakfast time you felt you were on top of each other eating your breakfast as we were very close to the next table also we awoke at 08:15 with the sound of a delivery of frozen food at the Two life boats and the truck’s fridge running which startled us. And the pillows were hard good job we bought our own we don’t think we will be returning. It’s a shame because the view was amazing looking out the window.

The food was OK but disappointing. No fresh fish options!! Breakfast was good. Coffee excellent.
Should be a better arangement with the council re parking.
Room was clean...good touches re coffee machine and shaving mirror.

We found the double room with a sea view very clean and perfectly comfortable for one night. It was freshly decorated, had quality bed linen, and offered good tea and coffee making facilities.
The bathroom was very petite, and the shower cubicle and tiling could probably be upgraded as looked worn out. It’s an old building so hot water took a very long time to work its way to our sink. Though there was a little sign that stated this on the sink!
It was very windy when we visited and there was a constant whistling noise through the windows so you should bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. The views were straight out to sea.
Breakfast was tasty, we enjoyed the vegetarian option.
We also ate dinner the night we arrived - good pub grub, several veggie options and very good service. Although, I was surprised they had the heating on in late May, it was boiling hot in the pub and we were sat next to a radiator. Thankfully our bedroom was nice and cool.
Overall the room rate seemed very high for a very average pub/non boutique B&B, especially compared to other places we’ve stayed. But perhaps this is normal for Norfolk!

Great staff, good food, fantastic rooms, and an amazing view. Thank you all, especially Claire!

I came to The Two Life Boats for work, as I was teaching a class that evening and then early at an event the following day. Honestly — I couldn’t have had a better stay. My room was gorgeous, the food and wine was outstanding and the staff were so attentive. I couldn’t stay for breakfast as I had to get to an event early, so they packed me a lovely lunch! The assistant manager so was so kind and was attentive to help me with my luggage down the stairs! The view was super lovely and I loved the facilities.
I was so relieved I had a sea view. Extra care is always given to your stay, which is why I’ve booked again to come with my fiancé for our anniversary in June, and my parents to have a trip away in the summer for their anniversary - they deserve the very best with being full time carers. The only trouble I had was my shower was a little temper-mental (going hot and then cold) but I presumed it was to do with someone else having a shower at the same time maybe, it didn’t effect my stay and I’m sure it was just something very minor, but wanted to mention so it was sorted for future.
Thank you all so much, it was such a lovely stay and I can’t wait for future visits!

The view of the sea from two windows was amazing. It is awkward to get to the rooms if you cannot manage stairs - one set of stairs very steep.
The breakfast was wonderful - full English and other options too. Our server Claire was also wonderful with titbits of local knowledge and didn't mind that I mistakenly thought she was Pam. Sorry Claire.
We didn't eat in the restaurant or have drinks in the bar but there was a convivial atmosphere as we walked through to go to our room. It is a popular place to visit if in Sheringham. I often walk past The Two Lifeboats so I was delighted I had the opportunity to stay. Many thanks to all the staff.

Friendly welcoming on arrival. Twin Room with Sea view was small but had everything you needed. Beds were comfortable, and clean. Plenty of Tea/Coffee available in room. Overall we had a great stay. Breakfast was amazing and nothing too much trouble, if you needed anything.
Staff very accommodating and nice.
Fish and Chip evening meal was excellent!
No carpark on site but there was one near by, so wasn't a problem.

It's wonderful - within yards of the sea. Great service, everyone very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Bedrooms upstairs and no lift. Historic place in lovely Sheringham. Great coastal walks.

Clean, comfortable room, great breakfast, excellent dinner, lovely staff who couldn't be more helpful and a gorgeous sea view. Right on sea front. No parking but can unload outside. Pay and display 2 minute walk which had spaces late September. Old building so narrow steep staircase inside or fire access stairs outside so probably not suitable if very poor mobility. Lovely place. Will definitely return.

Not worth the cost. On arrival asked to wait in what was almost a storage room to do the checkin. Room was cramped. Bathroom had a lock that could have been recycled from a barn. Grout on the tiles was grubby and mouldy in places. Very, very disappointed will never stay there again.

Love the Two Lifeboats, have stayed before. A late booking but the sea view was great, the room was quiet, the gluten free fish and chips in the restaurant was the best we've had Thank you. Will stay again, the staff are lovely, the breakfast was great - beautifully cooked. The floors are a bit uneven but it is not a modern built hotel and this is its charm.

Fresh decor in all rooms and common upstairs areas so worth ignoring older reviews. Immaculate room, decent electric shower, sea view, heavy breakfast (tho I'd prefer fruit and yoghurts) very friendly healthy staff

I was the only guest due to the Covid scare at Christmas.
It's a great location and a very nice pub.
The landlady (Anna) was super nice and, overall, I enjoyed my overnight stay.
Given it's location, it's not cheap, and there were a couple of minor bathroom issues which stopped me giving it a higher rating; the electric shower was poor and the bath didn't drain properly.
I opted for the cooked breakfast, which was ok, but wasn't the premium experience I was told to expect; e.g. sausages were just the standard, pre-cooked type.
Nice spot though, and very clean.

I stayed at The Two Lifeboats, in Sheringham for one night only, wishing I could have stayed longer. The room was small but very cosy, the staff were absolutely wonderful. I had dinner here too and was surprised by how quick the service was, with staff constantly on hand to answer any queries etc. Would definitely recommend a longer stay here.

We want to thank all the staff, it was so warm and friendly.

The staff are very friendly, and helpful, and the breakfast was excellent, but, the room has damp marks on walls, mains socket on upside down, which is not advisable, and the shower tiles need a re grout as black in a lot of places and looks gruby, and a 2nd chair would have been nice in a double room, and overall, not value for money

Great location with the sea just feet away. Car parking a few yards away. Convenient for a walk along the seafront or a stroll into the town and it’s shops and restaurants.

The customer service was far from what we have received before when having stayed on several occasions previously.

Lovely place to stay & being right on the front, easy access to the beach. It was also in the centre of town so easy access to other places to visit. We did eat in the restaurant which was nice food - only oddity was being asked to pay for our meal before it had been served. My other gripe is that despite having booked a table, we were given the worst table in the place. I was seated so close to the staff cleaning table that I couldn't move my chair or cut my food without touching the table. It was a real shame as it marred an otherwise enjoyable stay.

nd bed comfortable. Breakfast only fair. but perhaps this was due to lack of staffing during covid.
