Nice hotel, very centrally located which is ideal for Christmas shopping and markets. However advertised as 5* which we don’t believe it would be going by our experience / room condition.

Fabulous hotel. Attentive staff. Isaac in particular was phenomenal.

The hotel was very nice, our room was very nice too. I have things to say…. There was a noise which was really annoying it was like a rumbling sound coming I think from the ceiling so above us sounded like trains, or a gym someone on running machine not sure but it was for rather a few hours went off about 12pm we were in room 68 so if I was to return definitely not go in that room. The bathroom needed a make up or shaving mirror, and def needs a socket to charge your mobile near the bed either side?? But the seating around the fire pit in bar area is a fantastic idea, we meet some fantastic people and we met each night for food drinks and great chats they were from USA & Australia we have exchanged contact details on the back of that area so well done Glasshouse - great location too so we will def return…. on this occasion it was our 46th wedding anniversary

We only have one complaint with our stay. Other than that, all else was fine!
We stayed the nights of 8th and 9th of November, in room 96. On the morning of Saturday 8th of November, my wife and went sightseeing and we returned later in the afternoon to find my headphones missing.
They were brand new Apple Air Pods2 costing $220. They were missing from my laptop bag; someone had to open and sift through it to find them. In addition, someone had gone through my wife’s belongings too (lucky nothing was missing).
We immediately reported the theft to the hotel duty manager. I was able to track the headphones and provided the various addresses to the duty manager (with real-time tracking). On the night of the 8th, they travelled from Edinburgh to approx. 45 miles away.
Apparently, the hotel management investigated and could not determine if the staff had taken the headphones.
Regardless, after we left only the housekeeper, and supervisor had entered our room. We know we didn’t lose them, and frankly, it was stolen from our room.
We have reported the matter to Police Scotland.
We will not be staying at another Marriot Bonvoy hotel, we expected a nice stay in our short trip, only to be ruined by this theft. In addition, we were not comped anything.
I will be sure to spread the word that your organization hires criminals and thieves!!

Room very disappointing.
Wobbly toilet seat,
Loose arms on both chairs
Cupboard door loose
Supposed to be a mini bar but ther wasn’t a fridge in the room .
Very creaky floorboards.
Expected more from a 5 star establishment.
Poor service in Snug bar .
Waited 45 minutes for a snack .
We were told they were short staffed.
We expected much more from a 5 star establishment

Great staff. Friendly. Efficient. Helpful. Tram stop and multiple bus lines at doorstep. Walkable to many popular sites.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Glasshouse. I personally think that there's a cutoff of how good a stay can be for the money you pay, and the Glasshouse is an expensive stay. But, as a treat on our wedding night, we had a great time and it was a lovely treat to sit on the rooftop garden that we've seen so many times from Calton Hill! Thank you again!

Great 2 night stay, everything was first class. Staff were amazing and couldn't be nicer and do more to make my stay a great one. Will definitely stay here when next visiting Edinburgh

Hotel is fine and the staff are lovely but for a five star and the price you pay it's incredibly basic.

overall, i really loved my stay at the glass house. it was stunning and the location was great for exploring the area. everything was walkable. the bar was really good. the room was a good size. i think if i could offer one bit of criticism the carpets were a bit stained. but literally that is it. it was one of the best hotels we stayed at on our trip and the best part about it was the warm, welcoming and kind staff. every person there is just a truly good person with such great hospitality.

The air conditioner did not work in the room. I picked this hotel because it advertised AC. They admitted that they have always had issues with the AC.
The front desk staff were not helpful but the concierge was very attentive.

I left an important item in room at departure. Staff overnighted the item to our next destination. Very thankful.

It shows 5 star hotel but it is not. The infrastructure is old.

The stay was perfect apart from the heating not working in the room but reception dealt with the matter quickly

I think the hotel was having a bad day the day we arrived as there was a lack of staff so service was slow plus there was a problem with the key coder which meant it was awkward getting into the room,
Overall though everything turned out ok and we enjoyed our stay, food and drink were all very good, breakfast was also very good

The Glasshouse was a superb hotel. Myself and a friend decided to treat ourselves to a nice hotel for a theatre trip.
The room was massive, very comfortable and had everything i needed. It was a lovely touch to be offered prosecco on arrival. The staff were beyond helpful and friendly and my bed was turned down for me when I returned to my room after being out at the theatre.
The room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable with the usual complementary toiletries.
2 x complementary beers, soft drinks and water were also available in the mini fridge.
In all a great and luxurious stay

Fantastic stay with a very warm welcome by both front desk staff followed by a tour from Harry the concierge around this lovely hotel and then shown to our room. He was also extremely helpful throughout our stay with recommendations etc It’s unusual meeting such an enthusiastic young person about their Jo and heart-warming, a lovely reflection of Scottish hospitality, thank you. Perfectly placed for the Playhouse Theatre and shopping. Would definitely recommend

A wonderful weekend and all staff were so welcoming, professional and friendly. A special mention to Jonathan who makes your stay so memorable. An excellent location for the Edinburgh Playhouse and the St James Quarter. We loved the roof terrace with amazing views and the Snug with the open fire pit. Beautiful rooms and decor throughout. Looking forward to starting with you again.

Great staff. Very attentive, kind and engaging. Our second stay here and we’ll be back!

We had a lovely stay, However, I would say the fact they must check the rooms before putting people into them, our shower flooded the bathroom and leaked into the room a bit. Give them they're due they moved us to a different room which was nice however the heating was broke in that room and they had a really noisy heater in its place. £540 was a lot of money to have these snags i feel, one thing i feel that they could update is they are cashless and that they take £100 deposit for the room incase anything happens to it, this i feel you should be made aware of, all in all was a nice break

Everything about this hotel far exceeded our expectations. The staff are truly wonderful and the room was lovely, really clean and super comfy beds. The minibar was complimentary - a nice touch. All our needs were met very promptly. Look forward to staying here again.

The hotel is very tired. Had paid for the room and they tried to charge us again! The worst hotel I have ever stayed in - its awful

Location is good. No parking, we had to park in the mall and the overnight stay was expensive.
Music could be heard till 1am.
Breakfast room is too far and very complicated.

Nice hotel, large rooms but really long walk up and down lots of stairs to get to rooms, not easy with luggage. Breakfast was a disaster and certainly not what you expect for the price you pay. Took an hour and 10 minutes to finish breakfast and waited 25 minutes to just get coffee.

We really enjoyed our stay. we had room just off the bar with terrace. did not find the bar to be noisy at all. staff were very friendly and attentive. did not buy the breakfast as it was expensive and there were so many other options within walking distance.

The service was amazing! The front desk was very helpful in getting taxis and helping us get our luggage to our rooms. Alexander was wonderful showing us around the rooftop garden and recommending The Lookout restaurant at the top of Carlton Hill. Highlight of our trip.

From the moment you walk through the doors to escape the brisk, Scottish air, you are warmly welcomed into what feels like a bubble of ecstatic yet understated luxury. Any worries I had about my choice of accommodation were swiftly whisked away and replaced with a pleasant whisper of tranquillity.
A unique juxtaposition between the gothic exterior and sleek, modern interior design. The bold yet serene décor breathes passion and bleeds opulence. Every room and hallway share their stories through striking artworks and beautiful furnishings. The winding halls flow wonderfully, lit with a perfect effortlessness which makes even walking to your room feel like a holiday in itself.
The rooms were flawless. My only complaint was that I only stayed there for a single night. Since going home, I have been actively looking for any excuse I can to return to Edinburgh so I can claim another night or two in this marvellous hotel.
In terms of location, the Glasshouse, Autograph Collection remains unmatched in the city of Edinburgh. Everything you could possibly need from dinner and drinks to entertainment and travel links are right on your doorstep.
From the second we stepped foot inside the hotel we were made to feel not only welcomed, but genuinely at home. The level of care and dedication the staff showed us was beyond compare.
If you are looking for an upmarket stay in Edinburgh, the Glasshouse, Autograph Collection shouldn’t be your first choice. It should be your only choice.

One night stay for a theatre trip our room on the 3rd floor was beautiful & had access to the outside seating area. It has lovely views of Calton hill and we were pleasantly surprised how quiet and relaxing it was being in a busy part of the city. Reception very helpful and great service in The Snug. Location perfect for our stay and parking very close by.

Amazingly attentive staff. Everyone was so friendly.
Room spotless. Bed very comfortable and really did smell fresh.
Only thing that I can say is have had better free mini bars in cheaper hotels and the bedside tables had chucks out of them however it did not spoil the stay in any way.

If I could I would 100 stars! Everything was perfect with very attentive staff.
I will be returning to Edinburgh and will stay with the Glasshouse again.

The Glasshouse was really worth it. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The bar had a spectacular whiskey collection with bartenders who knew their whiskey. The location was very central and getting everywhere was simple.

The property is beautiful rooms are excellent but don’t get the breakfast it’s disorganized takes forever and is not very good. Other than the breakfast it’s wonderful. I suggest going around corner for breakfast.

Nice reception area with lovely Front of House staff. Large room and bathroom with good Elemis toiletries. Free mini bar, water, soft drinks and beer. Fabulous comfy bed. A little dated furniture wise.
Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices. Bar staff knowledgeable and friendly. Overall a good stay.
Ask for a quiet room.
