BEWARE! I travel for a living all around the world and don’t have time to review every hotel I go to.
I had to write this review because it was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had in any hotel anywhere.
Management and Service is absolutely horrible. They are CLEARLY trained to say no to your needs and requests, and there is so much wrong that it ends up abtotally horrible experience.
Broken air conditioners. Yellow water, promised rates then over charges, 7 HOURS to check in.
they will lie to your face, Take your money, then you have to deal with the headache after.
Nighttime the property becomes a hub of am unbearable amount of prostitutes, some quite agressive.
I chose this hotel because the property is unbeatable! huge amount of space and considering the fact that there is nothing to do off the property. This was a huge attraction.
Unfortunately, being stuck here was such a terrible experience. I spent the rest of my time at another hotel.
I checked out as soon as I could Go to a much smaller hotel with much less space for a long stay, which was very difficult, but because of the improvement of environment and service, was totally worth it. .
I reccomend Avoid at all cost.

Bathroom shower didnt drain even with 3 promises to fix it. Site boasts beach lounges, laughable. Site boasts “8min walk” to beach, but with what bodyguards?

Room 650, and the entire section where the room is located, needs thorough refurbishment. Bathroom door was dirty with rusts at the base, holder for shower head was broken, water from the shower sipped out to the floor through the sides of the glass divider, water was dropping from the AC vent, room needed paintwork, and then the cleaners topped it all up by leaving their cleaning buckets with dirty water in the hallway even after 9 pm. Experience wasn't worth the room rate.

Everything was just bad that I can’t go back to stay. The only thing they have it’s just the name Eko hotel 😩😩😩😩

The bathroom needs updating immediately. It looks very unhygienic and dated. I had to upgrade to Eko Signature.
On more than one occasion, I experienced really slow service in the restaurants on site. I wouldn’t stay here again

Hotel was nice. Staff was excellent. What i didnt like was that my room was really hot. The AC was on and I could feel it blowing, but it wasnt blowing out cold air. The thermostat was really old, dont know if it even worked. I knew someone on a different floor. When I entered their room, it was way colder than mine, and their thermostat was a digital one. Also, did matter how much I tried, when showering, the water would come out of the tub. There was always a huge mess of water, almost flooded.

The hotel and its rooms are very, very old. Poorly. It’s like a ghetto brothel. Shameful indeed.
Electronic doors don’t work, had to be opened manually. Safety deposit box doesn’t work. A risky experience. Bathroom shower cabby drain is clogged up. Waste water doesn’t drain out.

It was horrible because I had mosquitoes all through my stay. Even when they said they have dealt with it, it wasn’t done. I also didn’t get breakfast I paid for because the kitchen said this was not the case.

The location was great but the property was awful. The main facility was dated and needed upgrade. When taking showers, you have water running every where and felt unhygienic. My son literally refused to take a bath there. Out of 3 days booked, we could only slend a night at the main facility. The 3rd night , i had to pay extra to be moved to the signature which was slightly better.
At the signature, the bathroom had constant pee smell . The room was nicer and newer though. The signature was the only facility that remotely met the stardard expected for a 5 star hotel.
The other buildings like the Gardens and Suites were too far away and dated as well.
Overall, I dont think the hotel is worth the amount charged. I never plan to stay at this hotel ever again.

I felt very safe on site. The dining options are plentiful. I especially enjoyed their restaurant, Toast!
The pool area was beautiful and the staff were friendly. It was my first trip to Nigeria and I would stay here again on my next.

This was a big disappointing and was not real value for money at all.

A woman came knocking the door severely making noises and shouting along the passage.
I called to report to the reception no response.
For an international hotel, this is vwry embarrassing and unsafe as i wonder how the woman got into the rooms area unchecked

I enjoyed my stay from the very first day! The hotel staff are very friendly, polite and accommodating. They went above and beyond to make sure that my stay was a very pleasurable and comfortable one. The downside is that the that food served was very hot and spicy and therefore you have to becareful with food selection! I would highly recommend this hotel to friends and family abroad who is looking for a safe place to stay away from home!

What has to be understood first about this property is, It is a multi-hotel property. The Graden Hotel is one of the oldest buildings and it is in bad condition, with bad plumbing, mold and mildew. Eko Main Building is where all of the social activities take place, it is a nice environment; however, it too lacks in bathroom conditions: The bathroom shower floods and there is no ventilation. If you choose to upgrade your room your surprise will come in the bill: I was quoted $150 per day to upgrade, at checkout it was greater than $250 per day. I was robbed.

The toilet roof is licking, water frops on U when using the toilet, the TV is horrible not clear it's like not well connected and it's always happening each time i stay in the wing.
The breakfast is also way below standard, this isn't the Eko Hotels i used to love staying some years back

I stayed at Eko Gardens. It got the job done. One thing I didn’t like was that I wanted to check in 2 hours early, but they were going to charge half the room rate. The problem with that was that the room rate they would use was not the rate I booked the hotel. The “half price “ would be more that twice the full room rate amount I was paying for my reservation. Given that I had reserved multiple rooms for 10 days, it would have been nice for them to have used discretion. Overall, I was pleased with the service.

Clean room with a great view of the Atlantic Ocean. Will be good to check the AC for room 1110; only works on #3 setting.

This place is all about money and lacking good service. Hotel garden is old and there’s a smell. What’s the hype about this place? I will never stay here again.
For the amount you paid not even 1 free breakfast.

Booked at thre "garden" stupidly thinking I would get a garden view. Ended up in a "hotel" with no proper reception, at a smoking level right by the street. The only concern of all employees is that every bill is paid right away, although the hotel card machine is unstable. Do nt recommand the garden: superior room with a blind window on the corridor, bathroom showing age. I travel a lot in Africa and now how difficult it is to maintain quality service and amenities but the Garden does not even try. The Signature is up to the standard and the Mainbuilding is trying.

We chose to book Eko Hotel for a business trip as we were advised this is the hotel to stay at when visiting Lagos and is one of the best 5 star hotels on Victoria Island. We booked two rooms at Eko Gardens and were very dissapointed upon our arrival. Whilst the other 3 hotels on the complex may be considered 4/5 star, Eko Gardens is at best 3 star. The reception area is poor and looks more like a motel, as for the rooms, they need a lot of work. My room had cracks in the walls, especially in the bathroom. Along with a flickering light in the bathroom, it was a guessing game as to whether the water would be scolding hot or cold when showering, bed linen was not spotless and had marks, no batteries in the TV remote, and I had 3 cockroaches during my stay. I appreciate tropical countries will have bugs but in an alleged 5 star resort I should not expect to come back to my room and find cockroaches. However, I cannot fault the service provided by staff, they were very friendly and always went above and beyond, be that at reception or at the various dining facilities on site. If you want a 5 star resort, do not choose Eko Gardens, choose the Eko Hotel or Eko Signature, I would hope the rooms are in far better condition.
