it's a very quaint antique like hotel, every piece of furniture has history. the room is comfortable and has wonderful view look out to the nearby garden. the cow bells sound in the morning is very soothing. it really brings me back to 1900s. the breakfast is delicious. it's a wonderful experience to stay here comparing to a more modern hotel that doesn't have much characters.

Totally professional and everything promised and more.

Beautiful view and nature. A lot of parking space and clean. But room was very hot (there wasn't even a fan). Shower built in a strange way... so when you take a shower water overflows onto the floor. Tiny fridge and small garbage bin with no plastic bag.... Unexpected fees... Had to pay for my cat (19€ per day and on my arrival was told cats are not allowed -only dogs but then they changed their mind) despite hotel marked as "pet friendly". Breakfast is poorly organized... long lines... just one coffee machine and it is hard to understand where everything is... and overall feeling is like being in a canteen or some sort of summer camp. And not a lot of staff speaks English... only at reception...

Super comfortable beds. Nicely appointed room. Lovely surroundings.

This is a lovely property and is very quiet. The staff were extremely helpful and attentive. It is very hard to find, but once you find it is a treasure. The property needs remodeling. Our room was enormous, but the decor was straight out of the 60's. Remember avocado fixtures? It was a great stay.

The hotel is cozy and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Our room had its own balcony with a view over the alps.

Stolls was absolutely perfect! We liked it so much we decided to stay another night. I have never stayed in a more charming hotel. The staff was fantastic, the view from our room was spectacular, and the food was delicious! I would absolutely recommend this hotel!

The hotel is good at location and own a excellent facilities. However, the software - service is poor and bad. I was arranged to live in second floor and no one help me to put the baggage upstairs, while they did understand my wife is pregnancy. Meantime, the room had some sticky things on the floor when I move in. The check in is also not flexible , I can only get into my room after 5. Last but not least, I had booked a room for 4 ppl. However, one softbag was made instead a real bag. It made my family feel very disappointed.

We stayed 3 nights in May 2019 and this was a good base for exploring downtown Berchtesgaden, Konigsee, Jenner mountain, and the salt mines, all a short drive away. Our rate included a good European breakfast of fresh rolls, fresh cold cuts & cheeses, hard and scrambled eggs, juice, cereals, fruits, yogurts, and a cappuccino machine. Beds were comfy, room was great, parking free, lobby had large sitting areas with working fireplace, and light cafe, dinner available in restaurant, grounds were family friendly. Staff was helpful. Only one alert: stairs were required to access many rooms, ours was up two flights. Discount card was included which provided free rides on city busses, reduced city parking, and some reductions on tourist sites.

Hotel was clean and tidy with spacious rooms. Facilities were very good. The hotel is up a hill overlooking Salzburg and is quiet. The staff were also helpful in directing us into town. In all, a great place to stay.

Unfortunately we only stayed for one night in this hotel, but we were very pleased with it: First of all it is in a quite, residential area. The property consists of three buildings surrounding a spacious garden with a nice swimming pool. From the garden you can see the mountains and it is a perfect place to relax. Inside the buildings there are several common areas for guests to hang out e.g. after dinner. The furniture and decorations are very nice and reflect the region of Bavaria. The fact that they have a restaurant on site is quite convenient, especially if you are already tired after a whole day of exploring the region. The food was very good. The hotel seems to be very accommodating for families with kids. The only point to be aware off is that the hotel doesn't have an elevator, which can be an issue for elderly people. They do have rooms at the ground floor, so you might want to ask for one of those when you make a reservation. The staff was very helpful concerning local information. Overall I can highly recommend the hotel.

A family-run Bavarian hotel that has really helpful and friendly staff. The location is beautiful and the rooms are typical mountain lodge style. The reception staff were outstandingly helpful with local advice, even contacting local chiropractors for my bad back. Breakfast was of a high quality and comprised of a good variety of hot and cold offerings. The room is very spacious and comfortable. Central to the Berchesgaten area, close to the Eagles Nest. We will be back for a longer stay very soon. Highly recommended if you want to stay in a property with authentic Bavarian character rather than a sterile 'chain' hotel.

Perfect for relaxing and joy too. This hotel is a true family run beauty. I hope they know what they have in their hands. I love old style and they have some true antique there.

The experience was great beginning to end.
Many small town Hotels and Pensions in Bavaria close for check in at 6 or 7 p.m., Hotel Alpina was open for check in until at least 10 p.m., which was great for us as we didn't reach Berchtesgaden until that time.
The check in process was painless, and they even upgraded our room for no additional cost.
The room was clean, spacious, there was wi-fi (which is great for U.S. travellers who don't otherwise have access to international data cell plans), and we had absolutely no complaints about the quality of the facilities.
Breakfast is something that Germany takes very seriously, and Hotel Alpina delivers. Breakfast is included, and has the standard German offerings of rolls/cheese/meat for sandwiches, eggs, coffee/tea/juice (plus wine for mimosas), musli and more. It was a great way to get a solid meal in place before heading out for the day.
Speaking of which, you're only a few short minutes by car to the entrance to the Konigsee, and it makes getting in early and beating the crowds a breeze.
Lastly, although I speak some German, the hosts were comfortable working with me in English as I checked out (just to make sure there were no miscommunication).
I can't recommend Hotel Alpina highly enough.
