The hotel is a little dated, but the cleanest and the staff made up for that. It is a perfectly occasion to access the shops and close to bus stops for all of the arranged trips.
If I was staying in Reykjavíkagain, I would choose this hotel. We plan to come back in a few years and we will definitely stay here again, it met all of our needs.

The room was nice, albeit a little dated. The bathroom was also nice but the drain in the floor was emitting a foul smell. This was raised with reception on the first day but nothing was done about it. Disappointed but as we were out of the room for 12+ hours a day, I wasn’t going to kick up a fuss

Nice hotel in a good location.
Didn’t like the glass door and wall on the bathroom

Was very basic but did the job. The first room we were put in didn't have working radiators and we were moved to another room after being told they were too busy to check it out. At least it is located in a busier part of town so can walk everywhere yu need pretty much.

A modern hotel with friendly staff in a perfect central location within walking distance to many attractions and bus pick up.

This is a nice hotel in a central location in Reykjavik. Walkable to many attractions and shopping and restaurants. The one drawback was no designated hotel parking lot, but there were several public lots around that were accessible to this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable and the service was attentive. The breakfast was very good.

Requested an early check in prior to arrival which was offered to us and were willing to pay for it. Never got a response. When we got to hotel and asked if it was possible, we were told there was a problem because we asked to keep same room for the tour we were going on with two days later. Never emailed us when room was ready. Had a room facing square and loud construction was going on. So, a nap after all night traveling was impossible. Following night, loud music and crowds in square right across from room went on til 2 in the morning. Again, no sleep. Hotel's solution was ear plugs.
There's only a half door in shower, no enclosure so when you used shower, water was all over bathroom floor. Took over a day to dry.
Staff at front desk were not the friendliest. Neither was the bartender.
Disappointed in stay!

The hotel is with in walking distance to lots of restaurants and stores. It’s close to the number one bus stop for excursions this hotel is the gateway to Iceland

The location is great. I booked after reading the reviews however the front desk people weren’t very helpful and the one who was actually nice and was trying to help, she was prevented by a senior member. But I will still recommend based on value and location.

Great location,

The standard room was very sparse, 2 twin beds, only 1 chair, located on the basement floor. We also stayed another night in the standard superior room, which had 2 chairs and a much nicer bathroom, on the 6th floor. The slight price increase was worth it. The free luggage storage was a good benefit (while we went on a 3 day tour). After arriving late, the front desk staff recommended 2 very expensive nearby restaurants, then the next day we found that there were many less expensive restaurants nearby.

Paulina was very helpful. She helped me fix a mistake I made in booking.

Not recommended. This hotel operates like an airline, and when we got to the front desk to check in, they told us they overbooked, and transferred us to a different location. Although the hotel at the other location is newer, also part of the downtown area, but we were not happy about the fact that they had to wait to tell us when we were ready to check in. Plus we liked the original location, where we stayed at a few days ago, and have plans to do for this time around that. Very disappointed

Hotel is well located. I stayed in 3 opportunities during my stay and had different experiences on the rooms received. That last one was newly renovated and very good. I was not that lucky with my previous rooms. Make sure you ask for them if possible. Staff was great and it is in a very good location

We arrived after a long day of travel and check in was quick and easy. I inquired about where we should park. We were encouraged to park in the garage behind the hotel. We discovered our car was inaccessible until 0700, causing us to miss our flight home. We were told by the desk staff “this happens all the time” - but they continue to encourage guests to park there. Additionally, the bathroom is a glass enclosure in the room essentially providing minimal privacy. The hotel is in a busy downtown area and bars are open until 0400 - the nonstop noise on a Saturday evening prohibited a decent night of sleep.

Excellent location.

Upon check in, I was told we were being re-accommodated at a different location (sister property)
Inconvenient! And stress-inducing!
Not right to do that, specifically because I chose the original site for specific reasons that were interrupted due to the change

Love Iceland and its capital. The Center Hotels Plaza is within walking distance to almost everything. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. The complentry breakfast was very good.

The rooms were extremely small. We booked 2 rooms, one for my 2 kids in their late teens/ early 20s. They placed us on the opposite side of the building, it’s like an extension to the hotel, which is fine since they are grown adults. One room was supposed to have 2 beds for my son and daughter. After the trek to our room, my kids tell me that they have only 1 bed. I went to the lobby to ask, they said the parents were supposed to be in the “kid’s room”, vice versa. But they specifically told us which room to go to. Anyway, they had to come up and separate and make the beds in my “original room” to make it into two beds. For the parking, we had a camper van, which their garage couldn’t accommodate. They told us to park on the street, behind the building. My husband found a parking spot, which we didn’t think anything of it. Next morning, they had their biggest celebration/marathon of the year. The roads were all blocked. We tried driving around but couldn’t get out. I saw the hotel, then went to ask the receptionist if there’s a way out. The receptionist said I told you to park behind the building. I didn’t know why she said we had to park behind the building and what that even meant. She never gave us a street name or show us on the map where to avoid nor the reasons behind it. (We asked volunteers of the marathon, but they didn’t know) Although the hotel is very convenient in the heart of town, but I would rather do a stay at an apt rental etc. the service was just awful!

This hotel was easy to find and walkable to many areas of interest in the city. The breakfast was ample and much appreciated. The room had a great city view and was clean and compact. I was welcomed with a personal message and some treats which was an unexpected, personal touch. The lounge area was nice to meet with other travelers. I would recommend this property.

The hotel is in a great spot located to a lot of shopping and restaurants. The entire downtown of Reykjavik is walkable from the hotel

Very nice location. Friendly and helpful front desk staff. Rooms facing the city centre have a very nice view but it gets very busy at night.

We were there the night of the Reykjavik festival and the hotel had live musicians and refreshments. It was fun and at the heart of the city

The hotel is centrally located and you can walk to a lot of the attractions easily. The room is small, and the beds are even smaller (they look like toddler beds, no joke!). I’ve never seen such a small shower stall, not even in Japanese hotels which are famous for their tight spaces. Having said that, it’s still good value for the money. The staff were nice and the lobby/lounge was very cozy.

Got a room on the second floor. Garbage truck would stop right outside my window every morning at 7 am. Very disruptive and unpleasant. Would not stay there again

This was the BEST location for our stay in Reykjavik. The rooms were old and basic, but comfortable enough. The location was outstanding. Most walking tours were steps from the front door. Restaurants and shopping were all very close. Would recommend!

Amazing, e we arrived late from our flight, walked to the hotel, checked in and hopped into bed. The trip from gate to bed was 10 minutes, what a treat.
We had the breakfast option, what an amazing buffet. It will rank as the best buffet I’ve ever seen. I’ll be back.
