What an awfull experience, traveled north of France for a week and the only place where you shall not feel welcomed is the Hotel De Paris, zero customer service, rude and they can pull up a lie of their sleeve to make sure they keep your money, 2 stars rating is generous! Much better hotels in the neighbourhood for the same price

Nice and quiet place in the centre of Barneville; garden in the backyard

The hotel is basic but clean and comfortable. Everywhere closes very early including the hotel bar ( at least for us). Its a beautiful area for walking and daytime pursuits but not much going on in the evenings. There is a nightclub or two but with taxis in short supply you need to be willing to walk home! Hotel staff were friendly, helpful and willing to speak English when they heard you struggling with your French! I would happily stay again if I visited the area.

Staff were nice and friendly, but the hotel itself was left wanting. A case of 4 star price and 1 star accommodation.definitely needs money spent on it especially to cure damp from the ensuite bathroom. And broken toilet seat.food was pretty basic.Hotel is in a good position so a shame it didnt come up to expectations

Service good since, as we were to be late arriving, after the rewception had closed for the night, the receptionist telephoned us as we were travelling to give us the entry code so that we could find our way to our room. However, the room itself was a little 'tired'. It could do with refreshing, and especially the broken toilet seat needed to be replaced!!

We stayed here last year and booked again because we enjoyed the atmosphere and friendly staff. Not so this trip . I think we must have arrived to check in when there was something good on TV as the unsmiling lady who came to reception could not get rid of us quickly enough. our ground floor room in the annexe was clean and comfortable and excellent value. Our friend's first floor room was clean but small ,with no window only a roof light . We arrived on a Sunday evening and although we did not expect the dining room to be open , we could not even get a drink. We were further disappointed to find that the restaurant was closed on Monday and the bar shut at 7. We finally did get to eat in the restaurant on Tuesday We were enjoying a drink on the pleasant patio in the sun and were handed menus. We asked if we could place our orders and wait to be called only to be told that this was not possible .Orders needed to be placed at the table as the food would come from the kitchen 'Very Quickly' .What a joke ! We were seated at 7.40 and finally placed our order 15 minutes later(one of the 4 Plats was unavailable). We then waited almost an hour to be served by an unsmiling waiter who had too many tables to look after. The hotel is still value for money but needs front of house staff who have been trained in hospitality and the benefits a smile can bring.

A small Hotel in a great location giving easy access to the surrounding areas and ferry port. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. The hostess was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

The owner of this hotel is so determined to please. We stayed on a Sunday night when the restaurant, and many others in the vicinity, was closed. He offered us recommendations of places to eat, bikes to get us there, or use of the barbecue in the garden. We chose the bbq so he laid us a table in the garden, provided all we needed and showed us to the supermarket to buy food. We had an exceptional evening, in convivial company and pleasant surroundings. The hotel is fine, the rooms good, the breakfast better than most, but the owner is exceptional in his customer service.

This hotel is absolutely fabulous! With service some 5* establishments would do well to emulate. Nothing was too much trouble for the owner Dennis and his staff. Dinner in the restaurant was worthy of a "Michelin star! Fresh fish cooked to perfection, followed by a selection of wonderful cheeses. At breakfast the choice on offer was incredible, with everything exceptionally fresh. Dennis you should be very proud, you are a credit to the hotel industry, and I would have no hesitation in recommending you and Hotel de Paris. Thank you .......Abientot!

It was nice to find that there was a secure parking area at the back of the hotel, albeit a very narrow entrance passageway. For added security the gates were closed at night. Our room was a bit small but adequate for a two night stay and it was 'en-suite' with basin, shower and toilet. All very clean and tidy. Dinner, plat du jour or a la carte was excellent and there was a good selection at breakfast including cereals and fruit. The staff were friendly and helpful. We would certainly stay there again.

On the whole we were pleased with our one night stay, the room was clean and comfortable. Our only disappointment was the breakfast which should have been available between 8~10 am however by 9am there was no sign of any staff or breakfast and some guests had to check out without having any breakfast.

The staff at the hotel were all very friendly and courteous. The bedroom was basic. Very thin curtains and just room to shuffle around the bed. 1 pillow each. The room was above the bar and was very noisy as you could hear everyone talking.
On the positive side the children had a nice room in the annexe which was quiet too. The garden was an unexpected haven and the food in the small restaurant was excellent. We ate in both nights.

Stopped here one night on cycling tour, the staff were very helpful and friendly. Rooms though smallish were clean and had free wi fi available. No tea coffee making facilities. Located in centre of town with a few restaurants nearby, banks and convenience store. The price was excellent. Restaurant had varied menu of home made food which was fairly good.
