Very dirty rooms. A lot of dust. Nobody clean under the beds. Do not recommend to people with allergies.

Very nice stay at this hotel! Good located and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely recommend!!

Hotel lobby was beautiful — Art Deco style. Staff was kind and helpful. Location was great. This is an old hotel and the rooms are very dated and not fancy at all — they were clean but not anything special. We had a nice stay and were overall pleased with the hotel.

This hotel was convenient for our requirements. However, it needs to have a complete overhaul, deep cleaning & repairs. The breakfast was sufficient for our needs with a choice of hot & cold food.

This hotel was dirty! Although the location is very convenient, It was dirty, smelled, and was very unpleasant. This is not a 3 star hotel, expedia should review this property. Breakfast was horrible, food was spoiled. Would not recommend staying here Ever.

Location ok, but dirty room, with old and smelly forniture. Bad breakfast and unsuitable coffee machines.

Great location but not recommandable for at family who prefers to sleep before 1am. The hotel is located just across of cafes/bars who entertain live music most nights. They stop at 1am, which is rather late for families with kids - particularly when the windows are paper thin.

This place was great from the staff to the location on the promenade. The only problem was being up until 2am because a few German tourists couldnt handle their beer. a shouted threat of violence stopped the noise. I should have done it sooner. seriously though, this hotel is a steal!! for the price I was worried but it would have been a bargain at twice the price.

It was a pleasant stay with helpful staff. Its a good standard budget hotel, no luxuries. It s on a long street with good clothes shops if you are interested in shopping.

While the location was great, we found this hotel vastly lacking as a 3 star, especially since we have stayed in Viareggio before and had a better experience elsewhere. The rooms are old, out dated, bed was uncomfortable. Sheets and towels were hard and itchy. The room had internet which worked alright, and the fridge was fine, though not very clean. Overall, we would not stay here again, and not even the cool location could make up for a very uncomfortable nights sleep.

Me and my friends stayed at Hotel Liberty for a weeks holiday in August and loved every minute! We loved Viareggio and everyone we met there was really friendly. We were a bit duboius about the hotel as we had read mixed reviews especially ones about how run down it was. However once we arrived we loved it straight away, the hotel lobby isnt run down at all and when we got to our room it was the same. Absolutely spotless and we had a sea view! - We had booked the family room and were situated at the front of the hotel so i dont know if the back is different but our room was lovely. The hotel staff were also really nice - we often came back from a night out at 2am if not later and there was always someone there to let us in. Plus the breakfast was really good, we had seen a few reviews slating it but we found there was everything we needed, hot food, cold meat and cheese, toast, fruit, yogurt, cereal, and sweet pastries. All in all we had a lovely stay, loved the hotel and the location.

I don't know who does the ratings of hotels like this, but please send them to me I could teach them a thing or two. This was a 3* hotel but it was an utterly disappointing experience: from the lack of cleanness of the very, very basic room I was given, not to mention the bathroom, the buffet breakfast (they kept running out of things- cold milk, fruit, fruit salad, brown bread, etc.), to the decor of the whole hotel building (a journey back to the 60s).
The last straw: I spent two days in the dark as the light bulb in my room went and nobody cared to change it even after having reported it twice. Disappointing, disappointing, disappointing!!!

My sister and I stayed for a few days before heading to Rome. It was lovely, close to the beach. Great view of the water! Only prob was we ran out of hot water for showering prob because everyone is showering at once. Ps. It was noisy ( we left windows open), beds range from firm to extra firm, and towels are rough.... Welcome to Italy! I experienced these elements in most hotels all over the country. If you want your bed in your neighborhood.... Stay home.

It was ok for where we were but very basic & did ask for it to be special but wasn't the case

For a 3* hotel it left nothing to be desired. Excellent location, beautiful and spacious family room, sea view, air conditioning in full order, big bathroom with jacuzzi bath, free wifi. Very helpful reception staff.
On a lower note, the breakfast could be improved although we didn't leave hungry.
We would definetely go back.

Excellant staff who looked after my 9 year old daughter on her birthday with cakes, biscuits and little flowers. Great room overlooking the Leaning Tower. Staff were very helpful and helped me to print documents I had forgotten to print in advance.

the comfort of the room was the most disappointing. the beds were terrible and the linens hard to use.

Nice hotel with a lot of marble (you are close to Carrara!) and with nice staff.

stayed one night while enroute from Londen to United States. It was perfect. A free shuttle to and from the airport would be greatly appreciated for the expense of the hotel.

It was a truly good option for a single accommodation. Later in the week, my friend joined and we moved into a double room - that was tiny, but much cheaper for double accommodation

Some rooms may be dated but we had a twin room, an amazing view of the sea and the main beachfront restaurants, staff were very helpfull and friendly, would stay here again

Choose a room to the rear to avoid early traffic noise

It is definitely only ** (2) hotel. Every night I was struggling between not able to sleep from terrible noise the fan was making and not able to breath in that room if I would turn fan off. The rest was in same condition.

The most positive thing I can say about this hotel is the proximity to the beach, across the street. That was great, however the room was very dated and not very clean. The wifi did not work in my room so I had to go down to the lobby at strange hours to communicate with my family, 9 time zones behind. The included breakfast was nice and the front desk staff was very friendly. Also, only 15 min walk to the train station. I was in a single room, so not sure what the doubles were like or where they were located but I had to access my room through the back area of the hotel in what seemed like a service area and elevator. Kind of strange. All in all, 2 nights were baearable but I wouldn't have an extended stay there, no way.

This hotel is right opposite the beach in the liveliest part of Viareggio. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Had a really enjoyable stay at this hotel last weekend. Staff were helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was spacious and very clean and air conditioning made our stay more comfortable, as it was about 30degrees at night!! Breakfast was nice with really good coffee. When we were leaving on monday it was very obliging of the reception staff member to let us extend the check out time, allowing us to come back and shower in our room before catching bus to the airport.... a lovely hotel, i would highly recommend it.

When we opened the door to our second floor room, we were treated to a spectacular view of the sea. The windows were open and the breeze was terrific. The downside to open windows and sea breezes is noise and plenty of it. The hotel is located on the main drag of Viareggio and the windows are over the street. With the windows closed, the privacy screen in place, the air conditioning and ceiling fan both in operation, the noise disappears. Our room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and quite large. The twin beds were comfortable. There was a fridge in the room and television. The electricity only worked when the key card was in the slot. The day staff had a decent command of English and were extremely helpful. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Internet is available in the breakfast room. The Liberty has an arrangement with one of the bath clubs across the street for umbrellas and chairs at the beach. There are many good moderately priced restaurants across the street. The hotel is not real convenient to the train station, but is a block away from buses which we used to go to Pisa and to Lucca during the train strike. The bus was also cheaper than the train. We were confortable and generally quite pleased. From reviews we read elsewhere, we knew not to expect too much. The hotel could use a bit of TLC. And, if we hadn't had the great view of the sea, that is, were facing a wall as some of the rooms do, we might not have been so content with this hotel. It met all of our needs.

generally acceptable but the main thing was no linen change in a week's stay not even pillow cases which was disappointing. Friendly staff and a great breakfast though.

Don't expect much from the room, but other than that, it was a good place to stay. Great service and a great location. If you plan on sightseeing and being out of your room during the day, then this is a good place to stay.
