The property is well located. The building is very historic so there is no lift between floors. Doors need a physical key to lock and unlock so if the door is locked from the inside at night, it is a fire hazard. Beds are VERY hard. Towels are quite worn but guests are paying for the location and historic ambiance.

Our room is on the ground floor and is unexpectedly big and very comfortable. We are here in late November time. It is chilly and cold outside, but the room temperature is plenty warm and cozy. It is a treat having such a spacious room. Bed is comfortable, not too soft for our standard.

We loved our top floor room. Didn’t love carrying our bags up four flights of stairs but the room was lovely. The owner was so kind and helpful.

Fantastic stay, best hotel by far to pick for a very comfortable and scenic stay in Rothenburg

The hotel manager, Otto, who was such a lovely gentleman, greeted us upon check-in and made us feel welcome from the start. Parking was easy and just up the street from the hotel. The hotel made us feel like we stepped back into time and it was so cozy. We loved that it was part of the town wall! The room and bathroom were clean. The wooden furnishings were nice, the bathroom had everything we needed, and the view of the lush green forest below and green hills across the way was incredible! The view was one of the best parts! We were on the 3rd floor and had two windows that opened up to let the fresh air and the sounds of birds in in the morning. It was quiet and peaceful at night. Breakfast on the terrace also had a gorgeous view. There were plenty of breakfast foods to choose from. There is no elevator, but we managed just fine and they offer help with luggage if needed. The location was very convenient. All the major sites were within close walking distance
The mattresses were fine, but a little on the flimsy side. I actually thought the sofa bed was more comfortable than our actual bed. The shower handle worked great and the rain shower head was good too but may need a little calcium-deposit dissolved.
All-in-all we would absolutely stay here again as we loved our stay.

A generational hospitality experience. Amazing. Beautiful hotel and incredibly good service.

Charming hotel in a quiet location, a 10 minute walk from the Marktplatz. Stayed for two nights in June in a 3rd floor room. Spectacular views of the surrounding valley.
The staircase was wide, and the traditional breakfast was very satisfactory.
There is no central heating and cooling - on the third level it was a bit warm, but the provided floor fan did the job. If the outside temperature rises above 80f/27c, I'd think twice about staying here.
There is formal attention to their guests, but service is performed informally- they just take care of you without imposing rules, etc. Best of all, they provide services without tacking on huge charges.
All in all, though, a great stay for us.

The Burg-Hotel was amazing. We stayed in “the apartment” and it was spacious and lovely. The back garden is FABULOUS. We so enjoyed an evening sunset and glass of wine there! Driving in Rothenburg is an adventure for tourists but very much appreciated the parking. The hotel owner and staff were friendly and charming. Highly recommend!

Otto and his family were awesome hosts. Close to everything, definitely do the walk around the wall if weather permits. The room and bed were really comfortable.

This was an excellent iconic hotel in the historic walled
Medieval city. The room was beautiful and spacious and nicely appointed.

Beautiful property. Gorgeous, warm, comfortable room with large bathroom. Staff was lovely at every level.

Great location! Rothenberg is not a easy place to park and this hotel has parking spaces which makes visiting Rothenburg for more than a day trip feasible. Friendly staff, really felt like we were guests visiting friends and family in their home, not a hotel space or generic feeling. Very quaint and lots of character. Would stay here again. Wish we would have stayed longer!

Lovely hotel that felt like a B&B. Quiet area but with easy walk to the main square. Friendly staff and the breakfast was delicious with beautiful views above the city wall.

At the end of a quiet street, sits this beautiful hotel. The location is perfect. Not a bad view from any guest room. The rooms are nice sized and very clean. As others have mentioned, there is no lift, but the beauty of this hotel makes it worth it. Make sure to book a taxi prior if arriving or leaving by train. It is not a long walk to the hotel, but the cobblestone streets are not good on luggage wheels. Beautiful hotel, beautiful city! Enjoy your visit.

The hotel is everything we imagined a Rothenberg hotel to be: perfect location; perfect appearance and atmosphere; large themed room with outstanding view of the valley; excellent and tasty breakfasts; helpful and friendly staff. 5 stars!

This was a great place to stay, right on the city wall, just down the street from St. Jakob church and near the main square.

We had a lovely room with a four poster bed, sitting area, spacious bathroom and a garden view. The restaurant across from the hotel was good with very friendly service. The attention to detail in this hotel is very nice for example the china used in the breakfast room is delicate and pretty with an old world charm just like the rest of the hotel.

The gentleman running the hotel was absolutely delightful. Attentive and cordial and very helpful. Location was ideal but also slightly off the beaten path which we loved. Accommodations were outstanding and breakfast was excellent.

Staff was wonderful. Peronable, available, helpful, good recommendations. I cannot say enough good about them. Beautiful old building in great location. Breakfast was great. Parking was surprisingly good within the walled city. Our car was just outside the door. My only hesitation is that there is no elevator. That is understandable given the age of the building but carrying heavy suitcases up three floors was a trial.

The hotel is very charming and the staff is incredibly helpful. We checked in rather late and, rather than have my elderly parents climb several stairs, the man who checked us in offered a free upgrade (unprompted). Thoughtful details made this a very special visit.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Burg Hotel. I was in a great location and had a large well decorated room. The premiere thing about the hotel was the staff. Otto the manager was Old World service with courtesy, attentiveness, and very helpful with all our questions. He gave some recommendations that were very helpful and saved us much time looking for the sites in Rothenburg.
