The good
Friendly staff and amazing breakfast with a stunning wiev. The hotel has a old time charm to it.
Tiny minus for the sloppy cleaning and the "free parking" that was not free or awailable

The hotel is an early 20th century building (I think) with the style of the belle epoch and our room had wonderful high ceilings and tall windows with a balcony overlooking the bay. There was a good sized desk and fridge, but no kettle. Wifi was good and the first time in Croatia we were actually able to connect reliably. There were no plug sockets by the bed which was a minor irritation. Breakfast was wonderful with happy staff and a great selection of food. It was lovely to sit on the terrace while eating and relaxing, a wonderful start to the day. Parking is available at the front of the hotel but needs to be pre-booked.

The hotel is older, but ok. Rooms are extremely small, can’t imagine to stay longer than 1-2 days.
Rooms with a window on the street are loud.
There is a terrace but unfortunately not used by the hotel (e.g. sun beds) so you can go only on the beach, which is public and really really small with really no space.
Breakfast was really good.
Parking I have reserved in advance, otherwise no chance!

The great asset of this place is the staff. Some really wonderful people working here. We had a balcony room and really enjoyed it.

Nice small hotel right on the beach (rock/concrete beach). Two red clay tennis courts. Good breakfast on a beatiful terrace overlooking the tennis courts and sea. Nice comfortable room with a balcony/sea view (it is worth paying a little extra for the sea view).

Bit run down but a nice comfortable stay, breakfast was good, evening meal not so good...they had a choice of only one dish for us, we went five minutes down the road to a fast food place and all was good. Surrounding area is beautiful.

I got charged 12 euro more after I made the reservation since I wanted AC. Call me spoiled, but with the heat wave , it was necessary.

We enjoyed the fantastic see view from our window, the atmosphere of the old and romantic building and the environment. The food was delicious Mediterranean.
The only thing we missed the few numbers of parking places.

The hotel is very old, windows are falling apart, you can hear everything what is going outside, as well as in the hallway. Wifi in the rooms is never working (I have stayed here 2 times and always the same story) - so be prepared to use it in the reception only. Breakfast is quite ok, I'd give it 3,5 stars. Everything else 2 plus. But the price is always low so I guess it is worth it if you spend most of your days outside.

Wonderful location at the seaside with spacious room. Breakfast is great. Building is old but refurbished. One thing inconvenient was that wifi was not connected in the room even though asked to the front couple times.

Basic room was very hot as it did not have ac. We knew this but still made it a hot night
Rate was in proportion when we booked
In short basic but correct
Parking could be an issue in high season but town has free public parking in a few nearby places

Hotel Lovran was an ok hotel in a nice location. The service was not very good but the room was ok even though he air condition gave a funny smell... The sea view was nice but for the ugly 1970s concrete shabby hotel next door that covered half of the view.
It's an ok hotel but not sure we will stay there again if not renovations are made soon.
The sea and the view was really nice though and there were a lot of nice restaurants in Lovran.

The room was great, big, with the nice view. The only minus is for the breakfast.

extremely small room and the showed was very poor, no shower pressure when the water was working. Located in a good area close to cafes and ocean. A dated hotel.

Loved the location of this hotel directly on the waterfront but when we first arrived my husband enquired how to use the air conditioning in our room as it was very hot and stuffy and we were astonished to be told that it had been turned off for the season. Lucky for us it was low season so we were offered an ocean facing room at no extra cost. Although the room was bigger and had a better outlook the bathroom had a very foul smell coming from it. As we had already been moved we decided to put up with it and just put the plug in the bath and basin and kept the bathroom door closed. Unfortunately the shower rose would not stay up and the water pressure was also terrible. There was no soap or tissues provided and the parking is very limited and tight. The breakfast provided was quite good.

I got cut off!
They said they didn't have any twin rooms in the hotel and could only put us in a double room, so keep that in mind too if that's important.
Enjoy your holiday!

Hotel is conveniently located 3 minutes from small downtown and "stori grad" old city area. Hotel has its own nice small concrete and rock "beach" with lounge chairs and umbrellas for rent (about $5 each for the day). Clay tennis courts are in front, I was told they are free to reserve. Breakfast is included and pretty good, and you can sit outside overlooking the sunrise over the coastline of the sea. Lobby is nicely finished but the hotel rooms and hallways could use some updating. Rooms facing road definitely have some road noise, you hear a few cars per minute passing by. It didn't bother us or keep us up, then again we were exhausted from being busy during the day.

Stayed for 3 nights in a deluxe double seaview room. Staff was friendly and we were pleased with the very convenient and relatively quiet location. Appreciated the proximity to the seaside, the air conditioned rooms and the included breakfast. However, wi-fi was very spotty and the room/buildings a bit tired. Overall, we were satisfied and would return.

Nice hotel, nice location, medium conditions of the room

Found the hotel with little or no problem. Limited parking available at the hotel but lots of parking available on a neighbouring streets. Desk staff were helpful and friendly. Room was small and facing the street so a bit noisy at night when the window was left open for air circulation but overall was clean and comfortable. Main areas were well maintained. Enjoyed the view of the sea on the patio of the restaurant as we ate our breakfast (included in the room costs--wide variety of food to choose from presented in buffet style). Nothing elaborate or extremely fancy but great for an overnight stay. We did agree that we would have gotten a room with a balcony overlooking the water if we were staying for more then one night. The area is lovely with a rich history of being a resort area in the past but has been a bit shabby--some buildings closed, a bit of graffiti, etc. but overall we felt safe. We enjoyed visiting a local restaurant for beer and pizza in the evening after visiting Pula. Lots of pathways to wander down by the water behind the hotels as well as swimming areas, places to sunbath, tennis courts, outdoor ping pong tables and childrens play areas. As Croatia continues to develop its tourist industry I suspect this spot in Istria will once again be added to many peoples travel agenda.

We had a lovely experience staying at Hotel Lovran. The staff were very friednly and welcoming and the rooms were clean and good value. The breakfast was wonderful and the location is perfect - right in the center of Lovran and minutes from the beach.

Hotel had its glorious days, but now somewhat outdated. Small room. No air conditioning. Because we booked through discounted source, we were given ground floor room facing busy road -- noisy all night. Rooms facing the sea are probably very nice, but we were told they are expensive. Very good locations, close to sea walk and small town Lovran. Breakfast ok.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Excellent view from hotel grounds, with easy access onto the shoreline walkway. About 5 minutes to walk into the village centre (which is beautiful with several great seafood restaurants... Najade was a great one - not cheap, but exceptionally fresh and well prepared fish/seafood). Our room didnt have a sea view, but was clean and tidy. Two of the room lamps were broken though. Bathroom was clean. Overall quite reasonable for the price

We had a delightful stay at Hotel Lovran. It's a convenient location to the little Stari Grad, and the promenade. The lobby is very pleasant and comfortable, the rooms are basic but very clean and satisfactory, and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast is standard and adequate.
