may be the restaurant is small compared to the number of guests that the Hotel can have at the same time.
as they do not accept booking for the table you never know if you'll find place to eat

The soup of this hotel was tasteless.

We had an amazing stay. The staff is extremely friendly! Our car got stuck in the snow and we needed assistance getting it out. The front desk agent in the evening called a taxi for us and called us back to make sure that the taxi had arrived. The next morning the front desk agent Santeri took care of everything for us, arranging for a Polaris to help get our car out, calling us a taxi and keeping us informed along the way. This was 5 star service when our predicament was not related to our stay. This hotel takes great care of their customers!

We saw the Aurora through the balcony. It’s really a beautiful hotel.

We stayed for one night after traveling for 19 hours and it was perfect! The beds were so comfy, the staff was friendly and the food in the restaurant was to die for! I tried new foods and the presentations were beautiful. The desserts were delicious and unique. The room had a balcony, and a sauna and it was extremely comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was incredible.

Nice location in Finnish Lapland. Pretty big hotel, quite spacious rooms, but a bit outdated. Good customer service and great outdoors.

Central location at Saariselkä, but hotel starts to be in a need for a renovation. Also the breakfast is more of an average sort.

While the service was just ok, the place is sad looking inside. This place has not been touched since the late seventies! The room furniture is completely worn, the bed is probably the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in, and the bathroom was really bad. Unfortunate since the hotel has a great location and the exterior of the property looks very nice. A Front Desk employee told me that they are desperately waiting for corporate to give them funds to redo the hotel inside. Breakfast was also mediocre to poor in quality.

The hotel is a little old but the rooms are ok. However, I guess that applies for some hotels in the area The room was not always super tidy, esp in the bathroom where the shower leaked and therefore a lot of water was always spread.

We, a family of 4, stayed at one of the 1-bedroom apartments, which seems to have been newly renovated. We liked and enjoyed the private sauna inside our room too. Overall very comfortable and satisfied.

Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet are great. The hotel is located in a small town where is a very convenient to the ski resort and grocery store. The only thing is annoyed is poor wifi in a room. The rest are all good.

We had big help from KIRSI to solve our transportation to Norway. Before that we already gave up on Finnish service. KIRSI was so friendly and helpful. Thank you so much

On arrival we found that we had rooms next to each other, as requested. In our excitement we opened the balcony door in 1 room only to find we couldn't close it again! Reception came to look straight away, and when they couldn't fix it they gave us the choice of moving both rooms, so we could still have two rooms together, which worked best for us. The rooms are fairly functional but clean, a good size and the beds were comfortable. The rooms were cleaned daily and towels changed when left on the floor. The reception staff were very helpful, even down to advising the likelihood of seeing the Northern Lights, which we did on one of our four nights. Lapland Safaris have a base in the hotel. I pre-booked our trips with them via email while in the UK, and added more by visiting them on the ground floor, and the clothes/equipment hire was also on the ground floor, so we just had to walk from the hotel rooms to collect our thermal clothes without needing to go outside. Breakfast was a self-service buffet with plenty of choice and slight variations from day-to-day. The bar and restaurant staff were a little less friendly and quite slow, I would have to say their service was variable but it didn't put us off eating there again. Riekonlinna is near the toboggan run and close to the start of the cross-country and snow-shoe trails. I would probably stay here again for the convenience, comfort and quiet ambience.
