Very classy hotel, grand public areas, good facilities and a great location. My wife was very impressed with the Dyson hairdryer in the room. Breakfast is pricey but luxurious and delicious in a beautiful space.

A new twist on a classic home away from home. The rooms are still excellent, only the bathrooms are showing signs of decay. One day I enjoyed a hot shower from a full-flow rainfall showerhead not limited, the next there is no hot water in the entire hotel.
The breakfast was cold as well. And vegetarian. No more bacon and eggs, sausages or meatballs, or some warm potatoes. One could order an omelette with ham, it took under half an hour to arrive.
Yet, always a professional hotel, The Dominican offered a free glass of champagne to make up for the cold shower. The guests showed class as well by not starting to drink alcohol at 8 a.m. The front desk could be persuaded to waive the cost of the breakfast from the bill.
OK, a boiler breaking down could be written off as bad luck, but I expect a hotel to have redundancy. The cold vegetarian breakfast was an unexpected cost-cutting measure unworthy of the hotel. I could buy fresher croissants, yoghurt and coffee at the nearby subway station for far less than the price at the hotel.
I'm not sure I'll be returning to The Dominican. I expect continental breakfast, I expect working barhrooms, and above all I expect hot water.

Really lovely hotel.is a fantastic location, you are only a 10 minute walk from all the big tourist attractions in Brussels. The fantastic fish restaurants I St Katharine's are 15 mins away and the classic Mort Subite is a very short walk away. We are out at the Rugbyman 2 (fantastic food and good value) which was a short walk from the hotel.
The staff I the hotel are excellent as is the hotel itself, the Domican is a fantastic spot from which to explore Brussels.

My son and i spent our first week ever in Brussels. This was a fantastic hotel. I cant write enough good things about it. Staff was super nice, breakfast and dinner we're delicious- many options. We had a wonderful stay. The room overlooking the courtyard was clean and beautiful.

An excellent hotel, beautiful spaces, very central. The front of house team were incredible. Nothing was too much trouble.
The teams in the restaurant and bar were also excellent. Cannot fault this place. Will definitely stay here again.

Excellent choice, clean, comfortable, best location. Walkable to the train station, a few steps from the center square. We had interactions with different front desk staff throughout our 3day stay, but the girl (sorry, don't know her name) with a Vattel sweater was the most helpful, pleasant and welcoming. This will be our hotel choice when in Brussels

It was a good hotel with a very comfortable bedroom. The shower floor was dangerous , very slippery, for an older person and suggest rubber mat. No view from window but quiet and comfortable. Staff were good - fetched some forgotten items from my bedroom!

Good location - less than 10 minute walk to train station. about a 5 minute walk to the "grand place" Room was sizeable. Good bed.. pillows a bit on the soft side. Bathroom was good size. Had a large soaking tub. Shower head was great.

One of the best showers I’ve ever used. Not sure how many gallons per minute the shower head releases, but I joke with my wife about it being 10 gallons per minute. There was so much water that I didn’t even open the valve all the way. The shower steam set off the smoke alarm in our room. It must be a common issue there, because the front desk called us and asked us to open the room window and shut the bathroom doors.
The hotel is expensive, but that seems to be the case with nearly every hotel in Brussels.
My only complaint was the bartender in the bar. We waited more than 10 minutes to get served in a bar that wasn’t very crowded. After not being attended to, we left.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.

I booked The Dominican out of despair as all hotels I knew were fully booked. But the hotel was a pleasant surprise on every account: charming, comfortable, great service, fantastic location. Will visit again.

I recently stayed at this hotel for two nights, and I must say, it was an incredible experience. The service provided by the staff was impeccable, and the food offered at the hotel's restaurant was absolutely delicious. From check-in to check-out, everything ran smoothly, and I felt genuinely cared for as a guest. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable accommodation experience.

This is my third stay at the Dominican and the experience has declined so I’d look to another better option next time. Location can’t be beat. Another huge perk was they were not hesitant to give me a later checkout than 11am. He gave me til 2pm.
Place was clean but housekeeping was hit or miss so dirty dishes and crumbs on the silly doilie that they put on coffee table.
Shower head had temperature issues - too hold or too cold from the slightest adjustments
Bed is terrible on your back, too soft and sunken in (time for upgrade)
Room air con is terrible during winter and doesn’t work to counter the extreme heat that is on. While i appreciate the warmth, it was simple too hot to sleep under huge comforters (woke up sweaty and I normally don’t run hot) had to sleep with windows open (same for my last stay) Came during summer and AC wasn’t an issue.
Overall not satisfied.

We enjoyed our Christmas stay at The Dominican. The location was perfect, as we wanted to be able to walk about the town without undue reliance on the transportation system. Nice hotel in an historic structure, nice room. Clearly deserving its four star status. The only drawback we encountered was extremely slow service in the restaurant and bar. It appeared that the problem was a lack of staff rather than the pace of the service providers. At one point, a single person was tending the bar (for both the bar and restaurant), as well as servicing the tables. She was working at quite a pace, while remaining friendly. But to be the bartender and table server for about 10 to 12 tables was too much to ask. Perhaps the Christmas season traffic was too much for the hotel to handle and had no capability to add additional staff. Would we return to the Dominican? Probably so, given its location and physical attributes. We would just depend more on the many other choices for our dining and drinking.

Staff are very friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. We didn’t eat at the hotel, so can’t comment on the food.we would definitely recommend this hotel for location and will return ourselves.
1.5
Staff wonderful with the exception of one of the bar staff who was unbelievably awful, rude, aggressive and completely ruined our stay. Not through anything we had done, she just chose to bang chairs around, kick off with her colleague and then be rude to customers. If you are wondering if it’s a one off, no, she was the same the following night. Sadly, management didn’t seem to want to tackle her behaviour and instead gave us a bottle of champagne. We didn’t want the champagne, we refused the champagne, they still gave us the champagne….. and no, we didn’t drink it. Such a shame, beautiful building, otherwise great staff and could be amazing. Rooms could be cleaner. Lots of money for an aggressively average stay.
