Whilst expensive by South African standards this is an excellent hotel with very helpful staff and a brilliant location. Breakfast was excellent, the dinner menu was a little ordinary but well presented nevertheless.

Perfect location, beautiful rooms, but above all the staff were amazing - especially Derrick (concierge). He had several spot on suggestions for our group. I will definitely stay here again. And I will have Derrick set up all details / meals.

We had the most incredible 4 nights at the Oude Werf, the service was impeccable, comfortable rooms, lovely breakfast and room service, efficient valet and great location to explore. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and we felt right at home. Excellent value for money.

This was the worst hotel we stayed in during our trip to South Africa. Oude Werf is overpriced, shabby, dirty, and in dire need of a full refurbishment. Our room design was flat out awful; an example of which was that the only place to hang towels was above the toilet pan. Disgusting and unhygienic. I wish we'd booked elsewhere instead of wasting our last night here. The central location is the only positive, but it just makes the place a tourist trap.

The location is good. Room was clean and breakfast area staff were friendly. However front desk staff were lacking in hospitality. Reccomendations for drivers were grossly expensive for the short tours we requested. A 30 minute round trip was approx 90 dollars canadian. The driver did not wait for us. There was an issue with hot water for seversl says. As well with power sharing the generator at the facility was not adequate to run AC.i would not stay here again. Upon leaving i had to request compensation for the water issue. This is something that should have been offered. I found the lack of hospitality very odd for South Africa.

Very friendly staff and extremely central, close to all shops and restaurants. Excellent valet parking and lovely breakfast. Corridors to the room could do with a bit of sprucing up, the odd skirting board missing and plain white walls which make the place look a bit ordinary. Perhaps they’re mid renovation so not a big deal but some improvements would make a massive difference and create a much better impression on first arriving. Lovely place though.

Prime location on one of Stellenbosch’s most historic streets. Mix of older & newer structures and so too of rooms in different styles, all likeable. This time I had one of the older ones but with fully modern bathroom fittings etc. Based around a central courtyard which is a lovely area to sit both day & evening. Very charming. The restaurant with its own covered courtyard delivers some rather good dishes on its short menu. The bar is delightful, again with older style decor. A few too many steps at my age, and rather low water pressure. But these are the only mild shortcomings; otherwise it’s perfect. I did not use the valet parking this visit, but know from experience it’s gold dust in this location.

First nday and night were not good. Room was terrible people kept walking past our room and look in. And we had virus of the wall But after one complaint we received a nice room the next day. And had l wonderful week with good services.

We enjoyed our stay at Oude Werf Hotel. We had a comfortable room and good facilities. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfasts were excellent. We used the valet parking was useful as we had a car and elthe service was efficient.

This property was in an ideal location. Shops and restaurants all around. The rooms where luxurious and a delight to come back to. The staff were accommodating, informative, helpful, cheery and with a delightful well appreciated sense of humour.

Great location in the middle of Stellenbosch. Friendly staff - especially impressed with concierge/security team. Lovely corner room but would have benefitted from second glazing also on side window as a fair bit of traffic/street noise. Also, would have been good to have internal phone numbers listed for when you want to get hold of reception/restaurant etc. Will stay again

This hotel is ideally located in Stellenbosch. On main shopping and dining street. Very safe to walk around, a charming area with lots of dining options. The staff was very nice, professional, and accommodating. The hotel's original building is a historic property with an addition on the back. Breakfast was included with a large selection and a nice bar just off the lobby. Very good price value hotel. Full services including arranging a driver or tour to wineries in the area. Stellenbosch is a must-do trip when in South Africa. Would definitely stay here again.

Excellent staff, clean property, good food, well positioned for Winelands, great student buzz in many surrounding cafe's and restaurants. Well insulated from the road so quiet and peaceful garden inside. Great valet parking service. Have stayed there before and will stay there again.

Hotel and location were outstanding. Bed super comfy for us. The only concern would be lack of a lift in our building. We were in room 220 on second floor which would be a problem for someone not able to climb 2 flights. Otherwise, all was outstanding. We had cappuccino one morning and dinner in the restaurant one night. Both were better than expected. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
