The gardens were really lovely, and some cosy places to sit inside by the fireplace. But that is about where it ends. The place is really tired and old. The rooms and bathroom were cramped in the extreme, and either their pictures on the site are misleading or we did not get put in the room type we booked. The housekeeping team are the loudest and most inconsiderate of guests that I have encountered. Dont expect a relaxing start to your morning. A lot of basics were not met, like the shower gel was empty and clearly had been for a long time. Luckily the shower had plenty of very hot water, since the heating did not work. It was all really not acceptable for $400 per night. Wanted to love it but unfortunately dont think I would go back, with so many other lovely options available for much lower price.

We only stayed one night the staff were very helpful. The place is old but cosy loved all the fires in different rooms. We had to change rooms as the window did not fully close, however nor did the second room we stayed in. The tv is small, the bathroom is simple but good enough for a night or two. It was only a quick drive to the town or longish walk. The views and outlook were beautiful. The breakfast was ok.

We had a great stay. My only criticism is that our petite room we booked had no indication anywhere that there was a terrace used by all guests on the back of the rooms. We didn’t even know we’d have access to this at all. It was very loud early in the morning with other guests not respecting others letting their children run up and down, screaming and adults talking loud and dragging chairs. It was incredibly noisy. If you had some signs on the terrace and info in the booking section and advised everyone at check in, this would help everyone respect others and followed by all guests. Even paying an extra $200 for the balcony room thinking it’s private, only to find out upon check in that it’s shared anyway as was the petite room. These finer details upon booking would make a big difference on room choices or prepare for lack of sleep in the morning.

Great location and food service excellent. Every meal was great
The tiles were needing a good scrub and with an old building updates are always needed
Overall a great place to stay

Beautiful old buildings and common areas, needing refurbishment in some areas, magnificent grounds and gardens. Games equipment needs an update.

Stupidly small room and bathroom. Noisy listening to water whenever someone flushed somewhere. Ineffective (very old) room heater

I liked most quiet, privacy and safety during morning and night, however our room was next to the stairs, people going up and down, maybe next time we will book 1 suite will be better away from stairs.
Regarding food, was excellent, kind staffs, polites and very professionals especially the blond staff who served us the night of Friday 12th of July 2024, I give him 5 stars about his politeness and kindness.

Basic and old

So we paid $369 for a room that the air conditioning was noisy(like a bearing gone) and the remote was broken and could not control it. The TV did not work and there was limited parking when returning late at night. We spoke to reception about the issues and they seemed to not give a care. I would like a partial refund. Ordinary to say the least. Ill share this with friends and familt.

Beautiful historic setting! While the room was rather basic/dated, it was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. We also enjoyed the restaurant and use of the lounges with fireplaces. Will definitely be visiting again. It’s a great place to relax and switch off.

Beautiful location, great staff, lovely food and fab grounds. Rooms are a bit cozy and could do with a bit of an update.
6.0
Lovely old property with a lot of history. Beautiful surrounds, however the stay itself was a little underwhelming. The rooms are way overpriced for the size and facilities. The property itself looks a little tired and in need of receiving the regular maintenance it deserves.

Good for Peoples who love to play Golf.
All others find a Hotel with average standard at a not so average price.

This was a great stopover, gardens were beautiful. The restaurant was great, service excellent. Had a game on the billiard table. The room was clean, comfy and quiet.

The historical building is charming. As are the extensive and stunning gardens which surround the property. The restaurant service and food were excellent. The rooms in the Morton Wing were dated. They were clean though. The bathroom was tiny. Especially given the price per night. Overall my friends and I had a wonderful weekend in the hotel and out in Bowral.

The premise is very old and over priced.

Lovely location and reasonably priced accomodation including breakfast. Staff were friendly and lounge areas were cosy with fire places. I would come back again

Historic property with nice gardens. Good restaurant. Comfortable lounge areas with open fires. Small rooms with very small bathroom need upgrading.

Beautiful grounds and atmosphere

Our stay was ok, but unfortunately, we did not get the room we paid for. Plus, the restaurant was a bit overpriced for what we got, and the service was not great. Lovely friendly staff but if a restaurant charges as much as they do, then the staff need to be more attentive and better trained.
10.0
Great place. The room we stayed in was perfect. Will book again. Food was fabulous. Bed was super comfortable.Great areas to lounge in around the open fires.

Not so much great facilities
8.0
The rooms are quite small and ours was a fair walk from the car park and we had three flights of stairs which wasn’t easy with a three year old. Room service was great. There was a wedding on the afternoon of our stay which limited us moving around the front of the hotel. Lovely old hotel.

Very old and expensive and will not recommend it to anyone or stay there again.

Poor upkeep of hotel, old and dated

My room was not cleaned between days. Tea, milk were not replaced.
Tray with food remains were left outside another door for more than a day.

Nice property, convenient location to Bowral/Berrima etc but needs a lick paint.
10.0
Very comfortable and a lovely spot close to town.
8.0
Very friendly staff. Property and rooms look a bit tired, time for a major revamp.
8.0
This is a beautiful old property set in loavely grounds. The rooms in the newer part of the property are small and quite dark and not what you would expect for the expensive rate that they charge. There is no soundproofig in the room so you can quite clearly hear people talking in the coridoors as they go to their rooms. The room was clean and tidy. The staff are friendly and helpful
8.0
Room was good but the glasses and cups were not changed daily and no top up’s for tea bags and coffee
4.0
It's old and a bit run down
