Nice room with a good location. Very clean and great staff. Nice perk that they offered movies for free in English on the TV. Rooms are pretty tight though. May be problematic if you have a lot of luggage.

Seems to be a business hotel. Busy, basic facilities and amenities, all working but utilitarian. Location a bit out of city center but still wakable and many restaurants.around this hotel.

Lovely and newly renovated with Onsen hidden on top floor. Excellent service and good location near nightlife and cultural sights.

The price was OK. The room was smaller than what I expected. My Japanese is poor. Hot food at breakfast was cold, not worth 10,000 yen.

I checked out after 1 night because the entire hotel felt dirty and smelly. The hall carpet on all the floors ( I checked )was coming up and you needed to make sure you didnt trip. The elevator was dark and creepy. Only good quality was the staff.

The hotel had dirty torn carpets in the hall with dubious brown stains. The lift had no proper illumination & was actually dark. The hotel smelt of curry/cigarettes as soon as you walked in. The room was supposed to be non-smoking but smelt strongly of stale tobacco. The window would not open and we found lots of dust and fluff on the furniture, also a hair grip on the carpet. There were books in the room containing essays on far right nationalism.

Is value for money for the hotel. All the amenities is provided and the friendly staff. Not to mention the strategic location which is very near to the busy night life of Kanazawa. All by walking distance for night life and food outlets.

Old ugly hotel. The carpets looked horrible, the breakfast was bad. Our room had a window that was stuck, so couldn't be opened. This meent it was hot as hell. The Airconditioning was too loud and poured a smoke smell into the room, so couldn't be used. Wouldn't recommend it for the price.

There are other APA hotels in the area, which are more conveniently located and in better condition, but also more expensive. This one is cheaper, but the rooms feel and look old, and it's further away from the main shopping avenue. Having said that, if you're in good shape you can walk everywhere; I never took any public transport in Kanazawa. It is about a 25-30 minute walk from Kanazawa station, but it's very close to Myoryuji (the 'ninja' temple). Kanazawa Castle park and Kenrokuen are maybe 15 minutes away.

Oak Hostel Zen was a great place to stay low budget, without sacrificing attractiveness or location. You can walk to many close attractions, or walk to Uguisudani train station and easily get to all of Tokyo from there. Staff was friendly and english accessibility was great. All around were nice places to eat, and there were unique places to shop as well.

it was a clean hotel, all what was expected there.We would recommend to update it. Going to a breakfast area was like stepping in time. Furniture is probably as old as 20 y.o. Carpet is worn out, etc.Otherwise good value for money.

Ive stayed at several different APA Hotels in Japan before and have become fond of the brand. However, this APA just doesnt measure up. Maybe its due to the hotel needing renovation, however the hallways leading to my room were stained and upon checking into my room, the shower bar that holds the shower curtain immediately fell off of the wall. Front desk staff was pleasant, however seemed to be a bit impatient with me.Breakfast is provided, however you must pay for it and its nothing to write home about. With that said, this APA hotel is in a good location being right in Katamachi which is the social/night life/shopping heart of Kanazawa if you are in the area for a stay. It is walking distance to 4 convenience stores and several late night ramen joints.For hotel quality itself, Id recommend the Kanzawa Station Ekimae APA Hotel however.

Room was very small but fine if you don't plan on spending a lot of time in your room. Hotel was clean, bed was a little uncomfortable but fine for just a couple nights. Staff don't speak much English but were very helpful. Overall this hotel is fine for the price.

The hotel is a bit old and the room is small, but it is pretty much along the lines of what you get at APA hotels. The staff were fine, and the place was clean and functional. There is breakfast included in the price; nothing special, but a good bonus. The location is also fine, but not ideal. About 3-5 mind walk from where the main area with stores and restaurants. It is easy to walk to many of the main sites, including Kenrokuen. It is worth staying there if one gets a good deal, otherwise there are probably a bit better options.

We had two nights at this hotel but where to start ... We arrived to be told we could not book in until 3:00pm although they did offer to look after our luggage. We asked for a room with a view - we got the fourth floor room with a view over a main road and little else! During the first night we kept hearing subway trains directly under the hotel although we made some discoveries the next morning and found it was the lift that was the culprit. Its a hotel for business people and so it was busy, and noisy, all night. Of our 10 or so hotels this one had the smallest room. The location was not flash either. The greeting on our floor (4th) was a carpet that was in desperate need of replacement and was ripped and torn and like the hotel generally it was showing its age. On the positive side our room was clean, the two single beds were quite comfortable and it was altogether cheap and cheerful. The staff were helpful and friendly and we liked the breakfast (although basic) that came as part of the deal. On balance we would give this hotel a qualified recommendation for those on a budget.
