Clean, mattress was uncomfortable and should be replaced.

The couple who take in care the hotel they are very nice. I went for my B-day 🎂

We found the jacuzzi in the room (with a wall-to-wall carpet) a bit weird, but hey, if it works for you...Cleanliness was OK, but the facilities are a bit dated. Bathroom was clean, and so was the bed.

Friendly management. Large, clean, and comfortable room. Good value for money. Quiet at night. Convenient location right near the historic area main street, with shops, restaurants, and the excellent local Bear Tent brew pub.

We were able to upgrade for a larger room for just a small surcharge since there was 5 adults in our party. The suite was spacious and clean. The town is very nice, historic and picturesque. Recommend the hotel.

I enjoyed the easy check in. Location. Privacy

Very cute and historic feeling. It was so cool to be able to walk around the corner to see the town's main street.
We happened to see the town's farmer's market, which was very cool.
The AC works. No issues with bugs except for 2 small really passive ants in the shower. They barely moved.
The design of the room is very cute and cozy.
We stayed here so we could visit Chinese Camp. It's really the town's name, so we drove there to see for ourselves. Then it's about 45 minutes from this motel to Yosemite's gate, which we didn't know required reservations to get in, so we made a u turn to explore Sonora's main street.
Will come back here again.

Rooms were decent, there was a nice designated area for my pups to potty and the town was cute and walkable

The front desk folks are great - friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. The furnishings are worn, but clean. The place is dated, but I would stay again.

Great value hotel located 1 hour from Yosemite. Small older property. The employee who checked us in was so friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The room was spacious with a surprise of a spa tub (that could be used for an extra fee). I liked the room and property even though there was a little bit of a musty odor initially. Nice pool

I had a great stay at the Railtown Motel. Passed on the Jacuzzi, but the bathtub and great shower pressure the pool gave me all the water I needed.
Reception was very accommodating. I came on a motorcycle and was given the room at the end (#19?) and was told I could park the bike right by the door where it sat in the shade most of the day.
Overall, a great experience and a good value

Very spacious room which was also very clean. Staff is very friendly and attentative. The area is nice and quiet, and there are a lot of good food options close by. Love the jacuzzi option and the king size bed. Enjoying my stay! Cant beat this hotel for the area. Perfect for traveling to Yosemite.

We loved our stay at The Railtown Motel. Yvonne was such a sweetheart. She went out of her way to make sure we were pleased with our accomodations. Our room was very clean. The hotel is only 1/2 block from the main street, which makes it very convenient for walking to restaurants and shopping. This was our first stay, and we will definitely be back.

This is our 4th stay here. The manager is always so pleasant and busy with duties. She remembers me when I come and gets me down stairs when she can due to my knee disability. Stairs can be extremely hard for me. We love staying here.

My husband and I had no issues here. The lady in the office was super nice. Place was quiet but people above us walked loud but didn’t bother us that much. Everything was clean inside. There was free coffee in the morning but we never got to try it. They don’t have free breakfast but there are restaurants that serve breakfast close by. Parking lot is small but it didn’t bother us. Pillows were on the flat thin side but there were 4 so we doubled them up. Overall it was a nice place to stay and we would stay there again.

Older hotel in excellent/clean condition. Stayed two nights. Towels were refreshed and room was cleaned/ bed made while we were out between nights. Bed was comfortable, heat/ac kept temperature as set. Definitely will stay there again.

Minimal setting, but having a refrigerator and microwave is a step above bare bones.
Good location to venture around Gold Country. My trip included a jaunt up to Calaveras Big Trees as well as enjoying nearby towns.
Would stay again.

It was quiet. The floor needed vacuuming and the sheets were not clean. But is was a comfy bed. Quiet and hot shower. I checked and there weren’t any signs of bed bugs!

People left barking dogs in their room for hours, early in the morning so they could go to breakfast.

My husband was sent to Jamestown for work so we had to quickly find a hotel for him to stay in and boy did we luck out! This is a small little gem with an amazing manager who seems to do EVERYTHING around here. It was such a great experience we actually booked multiple nights for my husband to stay here! The price makes it even better!!

Office was closed at 4:20 in the afternoon. Had to wait for clerk. Room is old yet kinda clean. Burn marks in furnishings. Ac was so loud we called it the helicopter. Won’t be staying here again at any price. Way overpriced

The rooms were decent but there was an old type of smell

There was no coffee in the room. Very old motel with cracks in the bathroom floor and could use a freah paint job for sure. Small TV.

The property is old and run down but at least the room was reasonably clean. Things creaked, chairs and other items in the room were worn and look like they dated back to when Reagan was still in office... maybe even before that. But the worst part was that the staff acts like you're an annoyance for checking in or even asking for ANYTHING. I was polite but was met with annoyance bordering on contempt when I asked for one clean towel after 3 days (they don't come to clean your room or replace towels).

Parking Parking Parking, being off the CA-108 you would assume they have a huge empty parking lot. I drive a HINO, about 15ft long. 7foot high & 6foot width. I was so nervous driving into this village for my vehicle was not made for it. IDK how I managed to do a 3point turn & drive back out with out damaging anyone’s building. Wiring, or even my work truck.

The town is a wonderful place to be at, but obviously this is a motel and never going back I'm sorry but I was shocked to be woken up by my wife as she was going to bed to notice that the sheets had blood stains on them! It was 1 am and all I could do was take them off and forced to sleep with the blanket only. It was very noticeable stain like a nosebleed because they were red enough to notice that they did not wash or change them regardless of the excuse I couldn't believe my eyes. We left that morning only to tell the guy in the front desk that sometimes sheets come back like that and they don't "catch them " by whom they send them to wash. I cannot believe that excuse. Nowhere have I ever had this experience the last time I stayed here was at the Royal Carriage and had a fantastic stay! Never going back here again. It is what it is. Oh and the upstairs people had drums on their feet or something because I could hear them all night walking.
