Very good for the price

Room is pretty big, clean and spacious. Manager Mr. Kedar was so helpful with things like booking tourist bus tickets, he even offered me city sightseeing with a good price which was very much worth it.
I highly recommend this hotel.

This place is a pleasant surprise. It’s central located which means it’s close to any place in Kathmandu. Our room was spacious and clean, with all the basics including hot water. It’s a nice hideaway in the busy streets of thamel. Mr. Kedar, our host was really helpful and kind throughout our stay. We bothered him in every way possible and yet he was always smiling and helpful. 10/10 for
the place and the host.

Super friendly staff, walking distance of everything, free breakfast ok, rooftop terrasse, quiet neighborhood after 22h00, sometimes even earlier. Funny spots on blankets,l and not so clean toilet/shower... I preferred to sleep in my sleeping bag during my stay... But still, not much of an assle and much cleaner than trekking lodges! I’ll stay there for sure next time i’m in Kathmandu.

Spacious and clean room with good shower. Courteous and dedicated staff. Good breakfast and in the heart of Thamel. Restaurants are available just across the door. I will give 100 % value of money hotel to this stay and definitely recommend this hotel.

The staff & service was excellent, The bed and room was comfortable with good wi fi and the breakfast very good .

For a great price, you get breakfast, hot water, good wifi, drinking water and a good location. There is no elevator, so keep that in mind if you are unable to climb stairs. The place is just a few short blocks for the main tourist blocks and market and the local market. I stayed here twice and extended my stay each time.

I would stay here again. The wifi was good, the location was nice and safe, and the breakfast was great. There was always a staff member available if I needed anything. Also, there wer lots of cheap food options and shopping around.

The only thing that saved this place is the fact that they are next to the most amazing restaurant, the ‘Blueberry Kitchen’. I mean come on, you get what you paid for though. It was $10 USD a night and it looked like it. The room was clean enough and I would say they definitely need to invest in new sheets and bedding and get the electrician out and check the building. But other than that. It is in a great location, the central of Kathmandu, across the street from a bomb roof top night club and right around the corner from all the shopping.

Great little clean hotel with nice complementary full breakfast, nice soft beds, hot showers every day, friendly staff, no sales pressure, on the edge of Thamel. I stayed here for 3 weeks and liked it verry much. Small supermarket and tripadvisers nr 1 restaurant next door. 10 minutes to Ratna buspark and Durbar square.

Great stay at this hotel, the staff are great and really helpful, the room was clean and comfortable and it's located practically round the corner from the central road of Thamel. Its rather noisy at night but that's to be expected considering its location. Hot showers were genuinely hot and had no issues. The wifi was good when working properly but there were occasions when it was difficult to access. Many places in Nepal experience the same problems with wifi sometimes so overall it's certainly not the worst. I would recommend a stay here, especially considering the cheap prices give u a decent room with private bathroom and breakfast included.

This guesthouse was recommended by a friend who stayed there. Staff is friendly. It is a bit basic (but so is the price). They have hot(ish) shower.

The hotel is located centrally especially if you want to visit local holy places. It is close to the international airport as well. Our stay was very comfortable. The staff and owner are very accommodating and courteous.

Stayed in a deluxe double room. It was a large, clean room, with a good hot water shower, comfortable bed and a flat screen TV with English language channels. Located on the outskirts of Thamel, it takes about 10 min to walk to the main area. Staff are helpful and friendly and we were able to leave our bags there whilst we went trekking. It's a nice place to stay however a little overpriced for what it is. I wouldn't bother with the included breakfast either which is just terrible no matter what you choose. They'd be better off allowing a discount if you forfeit the breakfast. Otherwise a nice place.

Every action, starting with airport pick-up, check in, welcome drink, luggage handling, depot, breakfast service, laundry, check out, was smooth and accurate.

Enjoyable. Very central to everything one would want to do in Kathmandu area as taxis are right on the doorstep.

Loud dogs barking outside. Bedding was incredibly itchy. Staff was rude, with the exception of the gentleman booking tours. The Beds are definitely not memory foam. There is no room service and no spa services. No slippers, toiletries means one bar of orange soap. There is definitely no in room safe. Just be careful with what is advertised, and set your expectations low. This is a standard Nepal guest house, sort of clean, Lots of noise outside, nothing special. I would stay elsewhere.

stayed for 3 nts. Everything which was promised to us in writing was delivered to us. eg Free breakfast, free pick up. Overall happy. Room was a bit small but service made up for it.

Nice welcome
Room is quite big, clean.
Hot shower only in morning, not enough remaining for end of day
Breakfast not very good but acceptable for the price
3rd floor room can get a view on the mountain

Big rooms with every thing you need, hot shower, working wifi. Free pick up from the airport, if you stay more than 2 nights. Good breakfasts provided at the hotel. Rather central location - on one of the side streets near Thamel. Very nice and helpful stuff, they can organize tours with a guide for a reasonable price.

Kathamndu Madhuban G.H. is was Very good . we were happy about staying there. It is well-located in near Thamel, area where are lots of small shops and restaurants in walking distance. The room was big and free internet were a good bonus. They also helped us to arrange a side-trip to Pokhara and a local tour at decent prices. beds are rely comfortable for the price you pay, it is a very good deal. And their free pick-up from the airport and breakfast is very good too.

I only booked one initial night in this hotel however I returned on 3 additional occasions when I needed a room in Kathmandu. I found the manager and staff extremely accommodating and they always found us a room or allowed us to use a shower to freshen up whilst waiting for a room. The hotel is just a couple of minutes walk from Thamel, all restaurants and shops within easy reach. I would recommend based on the quality of service from the staff ...

Well cleanliness is not there forte, don't expect your room clean but do expect better attention than the Ritz Carlton. No AC/heating so if you tend to be cold expect to freeze your ... located in the heart of Thamel, central to shopping. They have a kitchen and you can get breakfast for $2.5 pricey for Nepal standards but still inexpensive. Be aware of travel packages, make sure you shop around first!

Service at Madhuban was excellent. Staff is very helpful and stand ready to serve in any way. Overall Madhuban made our stay in Kathmandu very pleasant. New visitors or International travelers should be forewarned about the dust and environmental conditions in Thamel. The Nepalese people are doing their best to survive under difficult circumstances.

You get what you pay for. We were unable to get the room cleaned and the sheets changed after three nights.

It couldn't gett any better. The first day, we just went to bed, but the day after, we mett our guide for the week, Mr Lama. My opinion, the best guide, driver and friend Nepal have to offer. Will most definitely go back next time I'm in Kathmandu. I Recommend this place !!o

I stayed in MADHUBAN GH in early feb, and after everest basecamp trekking, stayed more 5 days. Every workers in there is so kind and happy. If you are such a person who cares the happiness and smiles of workers, this GH would be the best choice. And seriously, travel agent who stays in this guest house did never tried to cheat on me. You can easily find that how it is hard to meet a honest agent and good guide in Napel.
In my case、i planned to go to India. Fortunately the owner of this guest house was Indian! And we could go to varanasi via sounauli(and gorakphur) with him!! It was really good experience to ride a nepali local bus and super safe at the same time. Just he was reliable man.
I become a friend with every workers in there. Almost the best guest house in this price.

The hotel is perfectly fine for budget tourists. The location is quite convenient and the staff are very helpful and cheerful.

This hotel is fine for the bargain traveler. Clean bedding, tv with many English channels, open rooftop lounge for nice weather, friendly and helpful staff. It is a rather old building and those looking for luxury should look elsewhere. There was plenty of hot water for the shower, and they brought me dinner in my room. Food was good. The only complaint may be outside the hotel's power to rectify. I came back to my room at 7 pm, cold and tired, and was looking forward to a little telly and a nice space heater. But they informed me the power would be off till midnight. This is not an uncommon occurrence in Kathmandu, but it is daunting when you are cold. I crawled into bed with my jeans still on, a scarf around my head, and two large quilts to keep me warm. The heater came on at 10 pm, so I did have heat into the night. Nothing fancy, but a bargain pricewise. Just for comparison, we did not have heat at a much more expensive room at the Garden Plaza either...technical problems that they never did fix.
