Fivelements was a magical experience, great quality food, clean eating, health. The ladies and gentlemen working at this retreat are 5 star unpretentious respectful and genuinely lovely helpful People. The facilities are 5 star, stone bath private pool outdoor showers all beautiful and relaxing. The only advice I would offer is that the bed was quite hard to sleep on although I did not ask for a different room I am sure they would have given me one.
Thank you for your hospitality

You’ll feel as though you’ve stepped into an enchanted world of relaxation and will leave absolutely rejuvenated. From the accommodations, to the dining, to the grounds, this is truly an epic retreat.

This hotel is fantastic and the staff auper friendly and helpful. The food is just amazing!
For Bali it’s on the pricier side and for me the only criticism is the mattress which is too hard (however this is personal preference).

Absolutely stunning property. Deserves far better than the 5 stars. The food was spectacular, I'm still dreaming about it. As a gluten free person, it was such a delight to have a menu I could order anything from. My husband who isn't gluten free loved it as well. We are both meat eaters, but didn't miss animal proteins at all. The people were so nice, our yoga instructor was great. Only issue was we wish we had stayed longer.

its a beautiful property and a retreat in its actual sense. Very peaceful and the staff are amazing and extremely pleasant. You feel relaxed as soon as you enter the property - serene and secluded and awesome location right next to the river. Plus all the dining is completely plant based :-)
The only thing to be aware of is it is a bit outside of Ubud - roughly 30 mins from the Ubud city centre
also I found the spa to be quite on the expensive side

Great property. Quite over priced compared to Bali but you get what you pay for. Staff are excellent. Very good vibes all round. We had the too suite you could get - lucky for us the room next door was empty the whole time we stayed so we weren’t bugged by having to share the pool. For the price we could’ve probably had double the experience else where. But it was a nice time and the river was lovely to hear.

PROS: EXCELLENT PRIVATE ROOM, QUIET RIVERFRONT, GREAT DESIGNCONS: ABSURDLY EXPENSIVE SERVICES, VERY LIMITED VEGAN ONLY MENU, NO ALCOHOL, PAINFULLY FAR FROM UBUD, UNDER CONSTRUCTION, WHY GO TO INDONESIA FOR FAKE ENTITLEMENT THEY HAVE THAT WHERE YOU LIVE...

Very relaxing hotel approx 25mins drive from Ubud. Great spa service and the food (considering it was Vegan) was pretty amazing.

It was just what I needed, some luxury downtime after long travel. Chill in the tub, by the pool and eat clean. I love that it’s an intimate place and the amount of space you get, and the sound of the river outside your villa. Only thing I was missing was resort activities complimentary. I do think it’s much to ask to book everything private as the hotel comes with a premium already. But the shuttle took me to ubud so really nothing to complain about. Love this place and will go back some day :)

If you are looking for a place away from the city and away from people this is the place to go. The staff was very friendly, room was always cleaned. They checked and cleaned the room at least twice a day. All the food is either vegetarian or vegan, many people go to Bali looking for that type of food. The only downfall to this hotel is that is about 25-30 minutes away from town. The most common transportation is a taxi to and from the hotel but if you are adventurous enough I recommend to rent a scooter from the center of town. It is cheaper and you can come and go as you please.

the concepts is good “all about nature”. But because of the poor location, it is so hard to walk out after you chcek in. Therefore, we had to eat their expensive wholegrain meal with no any meat for breakfast lunch and dinner in our stay. After that, both me and my wife were dyspepsia. And the laundry service need to be improved as my shirt was broken. Also the wifi is poor. For the good side, the bed is soft and comfortable, bath is great and the view is amazing. Overall if you are thinking to be on diet and wants to taste nature, it is suit to you. Otherwise, you will suck.

Five Elements resort is a beautiful getaway, but we weren't aware that this is a fully vegan hotel, non-smoking, non alcolhol, no fridge or tv in rooms. Besides that it takes 20-30 mins to get to Ubud and no other things you can do nearby as it's quite isolated. Hotel has a shutlle running 3x a day.
On the other hand, rooms are spotless, food is nice and well prepared, staff is very friendly.
Overall I think quite overrated with all things you have to miss out on on a holiday if you are not aware. We pre-booked, could not cancel and had to stay for a week.

A little remote compared to other hotels, which meant very quiet and peaceful, but a little isolated from Ubud

I had such big expectations for that hotel that i was disappointed when i arrived. The staff is nice but after staying at komaneka in ubud i compare a lot and the service could be better.. the room was pretty of course but not as much as the pictures.. it is not centrally located so you kind of have to stay there. Its totally okay if youre into yoga or spa treatments. We wanted to stay there because its a vegan hotel, but its a raw vegan one.. we like our meal cooked. Only raw makes us feel a bit sick so we had to leave after one night instead of 2. Still is a very good hotel for people into yoga and spa treatments but be ready to pay a lot !! It cost us almost 4cad dollars just to wash a pair of pajama and a shirt..

OK you are either going to like this place or hate it and I think it really depends on your expectations. This is not the standard, full service, 5 star balinese uberhotel with all amenities.
It would be more accurate to describe it as an eco retreat. Remember this is full Vegan, not just vegetarian.
I would think that all the attributes you can give to it, one person would hate and another would love.
For instance no TV - great if you want to get away from the idiot box for a while. Others wont like.
No fridge - well theres no alcohol available anyway, they give you water and you can make delicious herbal tea for yourself, so wheres the need? Phone reception for ice, no problems they deliver ice.
Limited lighting in the living room/outdoor bale so you need to retire to the bedroom when it gets dark but again, we tended to go to sleep when it got dark and get up when it got light.
Room service: basically only when you call for it but always friendly. We liked this as we didnt get the constant interuptions whilst sunbaking around the pool etc that you often get at other hotels.
This place is best for Vegans or those that really want to take a chill pill for a few days. We stayed for 5 days, took about 10 of the spa treatments (cost a fortune but great - try the Chocolate Love!!), read books and had a great romantic holiday.
Have to admit to taking the free shuttle twice into Ubud to get a hit of meat and a quiet bintang but other than that a perfectly zen holiday.

The hotel is nice, exquisite and immaculate which blends perfectly with nature. This is the hotel if one is looking to rest and relax away from the norm. It is like staying in your own village. The spotless room have all the privacy u want. The thing to consider is that the location is in remote area in the middle of local area village. It has a vegetarian concept which focus on well being. There are no minimart or shops nearby and no tv too but u can play the pipe music inside the room. The hotel do take it vegetarian concept seriously that u can only find vegetarian foods on the menu - I do struggle with this but it is ok if U look it as something different/new. With all the natarul deco I do feel like flinstones :) . The staffs are attentive and superb which is a big plus.

I wish I could live at this hotel. The room was so very special, sitting so near the Ajung River...with a huge outdoor bathtub to die for. The bathroom is among the very best I have ever seen. The food is beyond incredible. We have had very little experience with vegan food and this experience has made us converts! My husband took a culinary cooking class with the chef, who is simply amazing. I had three treatments with three healers who were all exceptional in their healing abilities. We loved it so much that we went back for a day (the cooking class and a healing treatment) after we had moved into Ubud. Heaven.

The overall experience is fantastic..we like the villa and the bathtub facing the Agung river. The location is a bit remote, around 30 mins to Ubud area..but is ok for us as we choose this hotel is purely for relaxation and enjoy the natural feel.

Beautiful location, very relaxing. The food was delightful from attentive friendly service, presentation and taste of the vegan dishes- so much so when we left Five Elements we were pining for their food. A wonderfull experience - would love to visit yearly

Nice looking hotel on pictures, but one would have thought as a vegetarian villa, they might have some fish or seafood on the menu....NONE!!! We could not eat there! After first meal, my tummy was runny. Their mixture of leaves (anything and everything combined) and half tomato bushes (stork and all) was not good for me. Then to go anywhere else, they charged us Fifteen dollars to drive us 1km!!! ($25 - $30 return for a TWO km trip) What a rip-off!! We paid a local $50 for the day and he took us all over Bali on sightseeing for cheaper than their 2km return trip!!. I got sick and thought a banana might help, so I ordered 4 bananas.....$12 for 4 bananas!!!! I can buy two bunches of bananas at home for that price! Then we paid cash for our first (and only meal) there, and when we checked out they wanted to charge us for the meal AGAIN!!! Alltogether my stay was a disaster, the staff are clueless and the costs for the smallest thing there is just a total rip-off!! Lunch there is over $50 (NO MEAT remember), yet in Ubud you can get a four-course lunch for less than $50 INCLUDING meat!!! The price I had to pay just on their transport and meals, I could have stayed at home!!! I am yet to experience the Bali is so cheap promise. Not to mention the locals that come and bath in the river right under your nose, whilst youre sitting on your balcony trying to enjoy the view of the river.......naked men, women and children, all defecating in the water too.

My husband and I stayed there for the first time the food was delicious vegan food and neither one of us are vegan and are foodies. The property is small and focuses on healing and holistic treatments. We've visited many of the high end resorts throughout Bali and they all have something amazing to offer but if you're looking to truly rejuvenate (spiritually, physically, emotionally, sexually) then Fivelements is second to none.

Had the 2 bedroom with private pool. Room was amazing - bed was pretty hard. Probably hard to find another place like it on the planet. Vegan only menu at the restaurant so if you are unsure if you will like the food bring some goodies for your room. Spa is very expensive.

Staying at this hotel was the epitome of getting the Balinese experience. The theme is geared towards relaxation and disconnecting from the outside world. Being here truly felt like we were on a relaxing and peaceful getaway. The grounds are beautiful and very quiet, it actually felt like we were the only ones staying there. The villas are spacious and very well kept.
The restaurant only serves raw vegan cuisine, which was surprisingly delicious and filling. This aspect added to the unique nature of this hotel.
The staff are the friendliest people I have ever met. Everyone is extremely helpful and accommodating. They also have a shuttle service that drops you off and picks you up at Ubud center.
Overall, this was a great experience which was uniquely different from staying at typical resorts and hotels. I would definitely recommend if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and just unwind in peace.

Amazing spa & wellness resort, beautiful quiet area, peacefull place where love & tranquility is all around you and you wanna do nothing but enjoy every single bit of it! Delish vegan meals (my partner is a meat lover and he loved it!), very friendly staff, stayed for only 2nights, wish we could have had more time to spend in the resort but had plans in Ubud (free shuttle from/to hotel). My treatment (face & neck massage) was divine. Overal a bit pricey but defo worth it.

The room, private spa and gardens were absolutely beautiful! Could not fault it. The food at the restaurant we had for dinner was also very delicious. The only negative was that it was a bit out of the way for other things we planned to do. Although this meant it was peaceful which was great for relaxing. All in all a beautiful place to stay, would highly recommend it.
