It was excellent. We arrived on a Sunday which is when most stores in Samoa are closed, however the hotel held our bags and provided excellent information on where to go and what would be open. Pool was nice and room was good.

Had a fantastic time. Reception manned 24hrs and all the staff were very helpful and answered any questions we had. Breakfast was delicious, different every day including local dishes. Room was nice and cool, had a fridge to keep drinks cold and kettle to make tea or coffee. TV had a choice of channels. Room cleaned daily. Had a patio to sit outside with chairs and table. Also could sit by or swim in pool.

The staff were all so lovely and friendly, and went out of their way to help me. It was very clean, the included breakfast was delicious and I loved the beautiful gardens and the pool. It is only about 15 minutes walk to town or a 4 minute drive.

Room was clean and well appointed. Comfortable bed, modern air con and shower. Shower was hot in the afternoon but cold in the early morning. Pool was refreshing. Good restaurants very close by and convenience stores. Staff were very friendly, especially the lady who was on night shift and waited with me for my airport transfer at 4am. Recommend seeking assistance from reception to book transfer to airport as you will probably get far better price and service than I did booking it myself.

I stayed in a fale. It was great! My only regret is that I didn’t stay longer.

Overall, a beautiful, quaint motel with a colonial style lobby. It's more like a motel than a hotel. Rooms were clean and had the basics I needed so it sufficed for my needs. Kitchen was open and accessible to anyone if you needed it. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Cable/TV channels were VERY limited, but makes for a great excuse to get outdoors which is where the real beauty is anyway. There were no sidewalks if you try to walk from the motel to anywhere nearby but its safe enough on the side of the street, just stay clear of traffic and not at night time. Taxi transportation was nearby and service was quick. The Outrigger was close enough to the town area to find some great things to do and places to eat. My only disappointment was that there was no hot water in our room. We had hot water only on our first day there then I guess they turn it off at some point. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast could be better as portions are way too small and I really like to dish my own food. I give it 5 stars for customer service, cleanliness and convenience!

The receptionist was very welcoming. The room was basic, had air conditioning. Breakfast was included. They had a pool.
I didn’t like that they didn’t clean the rooms every day, no shampoo. They didn’t always have the cushions out in the pool area which made it uncomfortable to sit there. When asking the staff for advice regarding lunch options, they couldn’t help us.

Unfortunately I didnt book a room with aircon so we literally slept with the fan on top of us. The shower floor upstairs was a bit unstable - I hope its safe.
But overall Im so glad we were there, its unique and bungalow type, the staff were amazing and I cant wait to go back.

Overall a good stay but would highly recommend a restaurant at the property. I had to walk out of the hotel to look for food and mostly restaurants are closed during the weekend.

lovely property right in the main town. Great spot if you need to stopover before the airport. Well maintained, lovely staff who were so helpful to me when I showed up in Samoa with very little planned, good price. Only thing I would note is I stayed in a fale which was very comfortable but I made the rookie mistake of not bringing bug spray and despite the mosquito net, got bit quite a bit (mosquitos love me). Be mindful of having bug spray if you're staying in the outdoor accommodation.

I always enjoy staying at the Samoan Outrigger. This was my second visit in six months and each were very enjoyable experiences. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the hotel and environs are beautifully maintained. Fa'afetai lava!

Stayed 3 nights in a fale on arrival in Samoa, unfortunately during a heatwave that had the locals gasping. Sleeping was difficult with a fan that was fixed in position - for comfort it would be great to be able to direct it on the bed. The pool saved me! But apart from hot nights a lovely place and the staff took really good care of me. Recommended any time it's not stinking hot!

We stayed in an airconditioned ensuite room which was a godsend as it was incredibly hot throughout our 9 night stay. Although the room was budget priced it included a lovely fresh tropical breakfast daily, The staff were very friendly, helpful and couldn't do enough to assist us with taxis, organising a hire car etc. Room serviced daily. The ladies who made breakfast and cleaned the rooms were just so lovely

The property is clean and well kept. The problem with the room was the little holes in the ceiling above. Tiny black sandy stuff dropped into my hair and ears and into my bed sheets and pillows every morning when I wake up. Please check Room 11. Otherwise …. I like the hotel very much. Thank you 🙏

Wouldn’t recommend for families especially if looking to book the traditional Fale. Location of property isn’t far from town so easy to find. I was booked to stay 2 nights but unfortunately only stayed one night given how noisy and uncomfortable the bedding was. Don’t take huge suitcases as the only access to the fales are steep stairs. Budget hotel so you pay for what you get. Very noisy due to local dogs who barked nonstop for hours. Shared bathroom facilities which were quite dated. Simply a bed to rest on and nothing else.

Daily breakfast was nice, you don’t have a choice, everyone gets the same.
The showers are often cold in the am or late pm. Lucky it’s pretty warm there.
Rooms are very basic.
Staff are absolutely gorgeous.

We had a mixed experience and would prefer other hotels if we return to Apia.
If you need a quiet place you might want to consider booking another hotel, the street corner Outrigger is located, is very (very!) busy, even during the night.
Breakfast is served (no buffet). When you ask for some more toast with butter and jam, then you get a tiny bit of butter and a teaspoon of jam - it really felt odd, appeared like they ran out of butter and jam.
The pool and garden are nice indeed.
We did not feel that the staff was going above and beyond: Any question or ask "out of the ordinary hotel related", they just shrugged their shoulders.
The 24/7 reception desk sounds good, but when we arrived at the hotel at about 10.30 pm, the receptionist was sleeping on the sofa.
For what they offer I believe they are overpriced. You will find better deals.
Keep in mind: Private restaurants have closed on Sundays!

The aesthetic of the hotel was my favorite part. The traditional fales were really cool!

The spirit of charm and tranquility is unmatched in Samoa. Every room option has a certain unique vibe and the breakfast was always diverse and yummmy! If you’re considering an authentic chill affordable getaway , stay here . Faafetai Lava.

Wonderful hotel, excellently situated - the personal is utmost helpful and the breakfast is great! I had a Fale and would highly recommend this as it provides a wonderful temperature at night.

We loved this hotel so much, that we came back and stayed again at the end of our trip. Super clean, we loved the staff, the fales and rooms were beautiful, and the pool and yard is stunning.

simple things such as a soap dispenser in the bathroom would have been better. In the Fale (hut style open area), the mobile phone charging could have been at a lower level. the power switch should be lowered as well.
the path besides the main reception should be lighted better as it has step in the path causing to stumble at night.

Our room had recently been done up and looked good. The staff were just lovely and very helpful. It was great value for the cost. Air con was great and the pool was so nice to cool down in. Breakfast was really nice and a great time to meet other guests. The owner was also very nice. We will be back even though we can stay locally with friends. Loved it.

We booked 2 nights in a room with shared bathroom and shower. Both the rooms, toilets and showers are clean and with hot water.
The hotel is placed close to the city of Apia and it is very easy to grab a taxi from the hotel.
The pool is nice and the breakfast is good and varies each day.
There is a common room at the reception with a pool table, board games etc.
The owner helped us plan our stay here in Samoa, recommending things to see and hotels to book which was very helpful to us!
We would definitely book here again!
