No parking, the view from the room was a bird poop crusted alley. Not sure how this is a wellness lodge, water pressure was terrible.

The staff was friendly, the room clean with newer furnishings and interesting style.
4.5
Great staff and nice, clean, safe facility; but, be careful walking around the immediate location. There is a large homeless population nearby.
4.5
Cheap and cheerful place. Located near the unfortunate side of town but close to Gastown and a walk to the city centre. Friendly staff good for the price in Vancouver. Comfy bed.

As a hotel it’s 9/10. However the area has too many druggies

The hotel staff were SO great - accommodated requests, gave recommendations, etc. the property itself was nice and the rooms were spacious. I only had two complaints: the room’s AC units are very loud and when they kicked on in the middle of the night they’d wake me up. Two: while the area is very walkable to Gastown and Chinatown areas, there’s also a lot of people hanging out on the street by the hotel. I didnt have any issues, everyone was minding their own business and no one was aggressive, but it was still a little bit unsettling.

Was a nice hotel the room I got wasn’t kid friendly. There was a flight of stairs in our room.

The staff were amazing and the property itself was very unique and clean. The sauna on the top floor was a nice extra that we utilized. No fault of the hotel but the area is unfortunately 1/2 a block in the wrong direction. If the hotel had onsite parking underground it wouldn’t have been an issue for my wife and I. Unfortunately having to walk to the offsite parking it involved passing through several street people who are openly taking drugs or are completely passed out because of it . I would stay here again with my wife but due to the heavy drug use taking place in the area I wouldn’t feel safe bringing my kids to that area .

The management staff was friendly upon arrival and check in was smooth. However, when I mentioned where we park he directed us to an outside pay parking area a block away from the hotel. I told him I’m pretty sure I read the description mentioned underground secure parking. He told me that they don’t provide that service anymore. So heads up! You will have to park your vehicle in an unsafe parking lot which is not meant for overnight parking. Not cool! There were crack heads lining the street from the parking lot to the hotel entrance. The hotel room was not as in the pictures. We booked a 2 double bed room for 4 people and what we got was a one bed with a separate pullout. The wifi password was never working. Not a clean room and the bathroom towel bar was almost falling off the wall. Things in the room needed maintenance. We would NOT stay here again.

Had a wonderful stay enjoyed the history

The hotel was beautiful and comfortable. Everything seemed clean and new. It was really convenient to be next to Gastown and several bus lines. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay.

Staff was very friendly and had good dinner recommendations

Very unique indigenous art gallery hotel. Very informative art in every room. Very nice and hospitable staff. Perfect in everything. Drug addicts hang around the block but do not interfere with the pedestrians or hotel residents. Stores, restaurants, and transportation is just around and easy to access.
4.5
The rooms were great, friendly staff and good basic breakfast. The only down fall is the location. There are lots of homeless in the area and drugs going on. We never felt unsafe but had to walk past groups of homeless people for a few blocks to get to other areas of town

The location of the hotel is very convenient. It was easy for us to get around and walk to the grocery stores, the restaurants and to the pick-up places to start our planned activities. The accessibility to the public transportation from the hotel to get to the places is great.
Hotel staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Due to our flight cancellation we arrived to the hotel in the middle of the night, and we were helped by the charming securing guard to get settled without any problems.
During out stay we did not have a chance to try any complimentary services the hotel has to offer due to our activities schedules.
The facility itself is clean and a bit outdated. It has a unique artistic touch and it is definitely worth to explore.
4.5
The decoration is unique, not the typical hotel. it is at walking distance from Gastown and a lot of nice restaurant and shop.
4.5
The room was clean and comfortable enough, but the area is not safe. The homeless problem is completely out of control in this area and I saw multiple people injecting themselves or others with drugs right outside the hotel. To top it all off, when I got back home I realized they had charged me over $500 even though I had paid for my booking in full through Hotels.com and I've spent hours on the phone trying to get it remedied. Hotels.com has not been helpful and the hotel has been an absolute nightmare to deal with. Stay somewhere where you feel safe outside and they won't charge you hundreds of dollars for no reason.
4.5
The stay was pleasant although there really wasnt much of a galore and the overall size of the room was more compact then precieved from other site photo's.
There was no bannock just croissant and no Jam.. for Breakfast.
4.5
The decor was lovely. The hotel was just a block into the rough part of town. We never felt unsafe, but there were many homeless. I did enjoy the authentic Chinese restaurants and the Chinese garden.

Customer service was fantastic, very friendly , kind, and so will to help you be comfortable at all times … loved th so much , they are doing a perfect job, however the outside of the hotel is not my cup of tea … other then that , the room was cleaned and ready for me .. no complaints for the hotel .. just the outside is not my favourite!!

Elevator did not work, room key fob did not work

Got a ticket trying to check in since this place has no parking and is 2 blocks away from a parkade. The front desk lady was very nice and understanding I had to cancel my room though!

Wonderful little art hotel with amazing decor. Very quiet but situated on the older side of town with a lot of homeless in the area. We were not hassled but did not feel safe after dark. Would stay again if the city helped the homeless in the area.
4.5
The lodging was artistically fun and interesting. Close to China Town and Gaslight but sadly also to homeless area.
Not threatening but sad to experience..but I know it's everywhere now. But loved Vancouver and the people..
4.5
The location was not great. The lobby door was locked during the day due to the people on the streets, and sometimes there was no staff around to let you in. The breakfast was very limited. The room was extremely expensive for what you got.

It’s alright. Bad area though, lots of homeless. Did not get good wifi in room and TVs remotes were not working, overall average place to stay

This was a unique property with beautiful art and I loved the rooftop sauna.
4.5
Comfortable bed. Loved the sauna.

Walking distance from Rogers Arena, however this is not in the best area. A lot of drugs in the area and a lot unhoused people nearby. I wouldn’t count on the breakfast in the morning; it’s not the best.
4.5
It felt unsafe because of homeless and drugs passing close to front door. Though those hanging around did not cause any trouble at all. Just kind of surprising.
4.5
The facility is located at the bad side of the downtown area where the homeless and drug users everywhere

One block away was where the homeless and addicts gather.
Breakfast was meager. No coffee for both mornings we were there. No filter apparently.
One morning no breakfast put out until 9 am.
No one at desk when we returned from sightseeing . Had to wait awhile because front door was locked. This was before 8 PM
The art work was delightful.
Concept of the hotel is appealing but was not executed well.

They were very friendly and helpful. When checking in the desk clerk went with me to my room to make sure I wouldn’t need help with getting my luggage in. They were very helpful when I accidentally locked my key in my room. It was in walking distance of different places to see.
4.5
It was about what we expected although that place did not serve breakfast as advertised. I am waiting a credit from Hotels.com.
4.5
The low rating around the property isn't really the property's fault, it's just the city's poor leadership letting crime and social decay flourish in the area
The low rating for staff is due to two incidents; while still in bed mid-morning, WITH the "do not disturb" placard on the door handle, staff attempted to gain entry to the room for cleaning. I had to specifically yell at them not to come in, as I was still in bed. After leaving mid-morning to go out into the city, I left the "do not disturb" placard on the door handle. Despite this, cleaning staff still entered the room. I'm not saying anything was mishandled, but there was no need for the staff to enter the room and I'd have much preferred that they didn't -- THAT'S WHY I USED THE PLACARD.
Most everything else was fine, but these are real basic things that need to be respected of your guests privacy.
