I was pleasantly surprised what a relic of a building
I felt the price was very fair to enjoy going so far back in time
The neighborhood is a little rough sad to say but we are all humans and I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family

I really loved the idea of this place. It is a restored historical home with charm. The place itself is spacious with seperate bedroom and kitchen. But with that comes no ac and its noisy with train running behind. I looked past the large group of unhoused people who sleep by the parking lot. I looked past all the rats running through the parking lot at night because its not the hotels fault per se. But the dead mouse odor in the kitchen became worse so we kept kitchen door closed. The final straw was when we were awoken to the sound of rattling and nibbling and saw Mice feasting in the middle of night, chewing through a sealed bag on the dining table. Even keeping the lights turned on didnt deter them because they made an appearance again in the early morning hours. Needless to say, im glad we only booked 1 night because we got only 3 hours of sleep max. If it didnt have rodents, it would have been fine. But mice crawling on you, freaks me out, honestly.

Worst stay ever. Very bad area and always some noise from train and junkies screaming.

Downstairs there were lots of homeless, and we need to get out of the car to push the gate open for us to get in/out the parking lot. Feels unsafe.
Also very noisy with train passing by

The building is a really fabulous piece of history but I believe it could be kept up better without destroying the historic value. I appreciate what the owners are doing by trying to maintain history but it certainly could have been cleaner. I did read about mice in an earlier review and I did see one. I’m glad I went because I love old places but also wouldn’t have wanted to take other family members that may have expected something better. The kitchen was well equipped.

We always LOVE staying at this hotel and we will be going back every time we stay on the mainland. We appreciate the building's original charm and that it is a very comfortable place to stay. The location is AMAZING, as it is steps from any possible necessity, including public transit. The only thing we are wary of is the transient people living out back of the building, but that cannot be helped by the hotel. We highly recommend staying here.

The property is a historic antique. We checked in expecting this but some further restoration is needed. (suite had squeaky floors) It was a unique experience. Management (Shneet) was accommodating and allowed a late change to our itinerary. Overall it was pleasant and unusual experience.

It is a classic stay in a heritage building. Old historic property. No in room ability to control heat and no a/c. Our stay was mid spring so neither were an issue. Large "suite" with full cooking facilities and dishes provided. We ate out there are numerous restaurants with in walking distance and sky train is right there. Hopefully the noise doesn't bother you. Good stay for the price. Area of town leaves a little to be desired bit we did not feel unsafe. Unable to upload photos so check out my google review for them.

A unique stay at a 1910 era building.
Lots of character and an amazing old school elevator. The free wine was very good and a much appreciated surprise.

Beautiful heritage building with a quirky elevator, but I liked the character. Very large bedroom, living room, kitchen, etc. Clawfoot tub. On the negative side, next to the skytrain track so tended to hear that until trains stopped. It might get very hot in the summer, as we only had fans, no AC. Various social services nearby so some may be uncomfortable with the area. Staff were great!

The stay was awesome. The girlfriend and I enjoyed the accommodations, and the 1910 character of the building/room. Just had a small hiccup trying to make contact with the owner/operator of the establishment. Once contact was made and accommodations were confirmed everything was smooth and the owner/operator was super. I give a 9 out of 10 and will recommend the Arundel Mansion to anyone visiting New Westminster, BC.

Stay was an experience but generally not unexpected as it is a 1912 building. Roomy with a good bed and more than adequate kitchen. Elevator was definitely an experience. The rumble of the Skytrain outside the living room area would be a problem for many but we slept well despite it.

It was a nice old heritage building. Good price. Just lacked hot water at time and there were mice.

This hotel was exactly what we were hoping it would be. Beautiful, old heritage building with all of its original and classic charm. Perfect location too! We got a bit of a tour around the place and learned some of its origin (the check in lady was great!) And we will definitely be staying here in the future.

We came to the area from our if town for a Dr appointment, the check in and out process was quick and easy, and the apt was spacious and comfortable. The only complaint I would have is the closeness to the sky train track and we were not used to the sound in the morning. Other than that it was great!!

It was very inexpensive for the property. Loved the classic feel. The elevator was worth seeing and using. Very classic. The space was clean and comfortable. Downside was the sky train runs right beside it.

Old building. Nice and warm inside. They've made an effort to make things comfortable. But it's dated and there are a few mice scurrying around.

A gorgeous building which was been wonderfully preserved to its period state. If you enjoy history and appreciate the details of past architecture this is the best hotel for you. I absolutely adored staying here; it was like my dream of living in a heritage home come true! You get a whole apartment, with a fully stocked kitchen. All the cool things about the building are so fun, like the pressure plate to open the kitchen door, the doorbell, and especially the elevator. Owners are very nice and accommodating; I highly recommend this place

It is a historic hotel with few amenities and very unique. Bed is comfortable and is a very spacious unit with separate kitchen, bedroom and living/dining room. A lot of homeless people around especially a the back where hotel parking is.

How cool to see a property that maintained the vintage style. I loved seeing how they lived in the past

This place is so cool! It's literally like stepping back in time. If you were living in this place in 1922 you were ballin'.
My only comment about our particular room was that the sky train ran right under it every 37 seconds. It's like that scene in The Blues Brothers when they stay in Elwoods room.

It was a awesome stay at the Mansion.

We stayed at this property after seeing it on Expedia, for a quick getaway at the beginning of July. When we were shown to our room, all of the windows were open because of how hot and muggy it was inside, and there was a train that ran right outside our window. This train ran all day and all night and was exceptionally loud. In order to get any relief from the heat, you had to open the windows so we heard the train all day and night. The property was dirty and there were homeless individuals all around both entrances. In order to park you have to park in a lot next to the food bank and walk up an ally that smells of urine. Our first night was uncomfortable but my partner had to work the entire next day so we decided to make the most of it. The next day he was completely unable to work because he could not get on the hotels Wi-Fi, despite one of the selling points of this property being free Wi-Fi. That day we escaped the room and went to lunch and when we returned and opened the front door, a crack pipe fell off the door handle and onto my foot. That was the last straw and we packed up and left immediately. I contacted the property to let them know we were vacating early and was told that we would be contacted about a refund, but we were not. I’ve attempted to contact the property on several occasions with no luck. The woman who is running the day to day for this place is very kind and well intentioned but is over her head

Rustic. The old elevator somewhat charming and somewhat concerning.
4.0
The property is quaint and old. There is not front desk and had to meet to get keys. Was not given a Wifi password and unable to reach him after to find one. The property is located above the train tracks so it is very loud. The single pane windows did nothing to reduce the noise every 3-5 minutes. The kitchen in the suite is very old and outdated.

Unique, spacious and comfortable accommodations. Close to shopping and transportation. Historic building.

The place has a lot of character, its beautiful and very unique, very old, has so much charm, I would like to go back but some things were not very clean, the percolator was very dirty (put a Polydent tablet with water overnight and it will look almost new), the pots and pans were not very clean. I understand that the building is over 100 yeas old, but the cover for the ironing board could have used a good wash. Staff was very friendly and helpful and so was the owner/manager.

Very old building right next to skytrain track.....too much noise

This property is very vintage and has a lot of character. That location is very sketchy and as a single woman I would not ever stay there. The fire extinguisher was extremely out of date and the bedding could be upgraded. The noise of the sky train makes sleep very challenging.

Very soft bed.. great night stay
