Definitely an old hotel that has seen better days. Heat in the room was weak. No coffee in the room. Soft beds. The door to our room kept jamming.

Asian Cuisine in the Restaurant.
2nd Bar w/Bar Snacks
3rd Bar with Urban music mix & pool table

Room was older, but we enjoy historic hotels. Great proximity for walking to restaurants and shops. Only negative was music from lobby bar was very loud making it very hard to sleep.

I had such high hopes for this hotel and I was incredibly let down. Everything was fine until the night shift front desk lady took over. I called her asking for help with parking, and on a 30 second phone call she told me to “just drive home” (I live 3 hours away, we are on vacation) “Find another hotel then” (when I asked if I would be refunded if we switch hotels she said “no but you can just leave”), and when I asked what her name was she yelled “WHY ARE YOU ATTACKING ME!!!” And HUNG UP!! There was an event in downtown flagstaff, I understand that’s out of their control, but the absolute lack of costumer service is astounding. Also, there’s no room service like they advertise. The restaurant they partner with said they don’t do room service, even though everything says they do. To put our parking situation into perspective, we had to drive around for 45 minutes looking for an open spot. And then go move our car at 10pm, 11:30pm, 1:30AM, 2:30AM, and 5AM. I had to have a police officer help me find parking, and he was astounded when I told him my situation. He said “wait, the hotel isn’t helping you at all? That doesn’t sound right”. And it’s not right. I’m still waiting to hear back from a manager. Also- while talking with hotels.com in the middle of the night they called the front desk and she told them I’m lying about everything. That’s why you take pictures!! I’ll attach them. Oh- and only one lightbulb worked in our room.

We had a blast. My son is super into hauntings so it was fun watching him experience this hotel

Check to make sure you get a room with an in room bathroom.

Wifi didn't work and the front desk said we were lying until we showed them a video of it. They then said they couldn't fix it. We had work to do so had to leave and find another hotel last minute. Called next day asking for a refund and the manager said they never give refunds no matter what happens and that my only option was to take them to court.

Rooms were hot with very small window A/C units. One unit was broken and we had to use a portable unit. Very sub-par for the cost

Monte Vista is a quirky, historic hotel - enjoy staying there when in Flagstaff.

Charming older hotel.

Overall great place to stay, right downtown, loud at night but that’s to be expected.

Our train was >5 hrs late so we got in at 1:15am. Check in was quick and easy. Terrific shower in the morning. Before 11:00 am checkout we did a laundry in the hotel.
Very helpful and friendly staff.
We'll happily be back next week.

Great for an older property. The room did not smell of oldness, but it could use an update. Overall good value.

No functional internet
Windows in the room were dirty, probably cleaned

Have stayed there many times this last time the deterioration of the building really stood out. The carpet is trashed and the bed. Sheets in the room looked like they came out of a teenager's bedroom, they were Palm tree designed bed sheets that looked about and smelled about 20 years old.
4.0
It's a very pretty hotel, reflecting the history of Flagstaff. However, the room had a musty odor, and the bedspread wasn't clean. New pillows are needed, the ones presently in the room are mushy.

There is not enough parking for guests of hotel. Street noise is all night long. Bar service was poor.

The hotel was just a couple of minutes walk up from the Amtrak Station. After a late night arrival, the room was clean and the bed was super comfortable. Great location right downtown Flagstaff. Will definitely stay again.

Wonderful place to stay. Such amazing history to learn. Our teenage grandaughters loved it!

Upon hearing about the haunted Monte Vista hotel, I made arrangements to stay the night here and requested room 305, which was said to be the most haunted with paranormal activity at high levels. The hotel itself is tastefully dated, clean and actually above standards in comparison to some of the modern hotels. The room itself was dust free, clean sheets and bedding, clean bathroom and spacious. The furniture is most likely the original with a few upgrades. The famous rocking chair is old and tattered, rich with historical value. The hotel lobby and lounge were identically clean and filled with pictures of past and present. So was it haunted? Upon touring the hallways there is a staircase on the fourth floor that shows a creepy upper level of complete blackness as pictured. Most likely an attic or rooftop entrance. I did not go up there. I heard some noises in the room, but it mostly consisted of the settlement of the building in the later hours of the night. There is a lot of noise coming from the bar and the outside streets so beware, you will need something to drown out the noise if you want to sleep. The only instance I heard that may have been a presence was a knocking on the bathroom door the next morning. However, this could be the dated pipes. Overall, the stay was phenomenal.

Stayed for our anniversary and selected the King Junior Suite with corner view, which was exactly as described and pictured. We really enjoyed our stay in Room 406 the Clark Gable room, which is at the top floor corner and WOW what an awesome location and view. This room is huge with a dining and living room area. The location is unbeatable and perfect for pedestrians, we didn't need our car to get around and experience great shopping and food. The check in was easy, staff at the bars friendly, craft drinks and lounge amazing... the only thing I would advise is this is an old historic hotel and they walk a fine line to balance keeping the vintage atmosphere and update where necessary - the furniture is old, bed not so comfortable for me but hubby slept fine. My recommendation would be only for those who are willing to compromise on the latest amenities to experience the history here. Bar and lounge areas are excellent, had a great stay, no doubt there are ghosts here although I didn't personally experience any hauntings other than good vibes.

It was good. Enjoyed staying here. Shower was small but good. Parking was good. Need more parking spaces. Checking in was good. Did karaoke downstairs which was fun.

Our room was border line gross. I won’t stay there again.

This property is a great historic hotel with tons of charm. The rooms are unique. Parking is an issue, as there is only street parking that you must find on your own, but this is to be expected in downtown Flagstaff. We booked a queen room but were given a double, but the bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. The best part is the location, right in the heart of downtown and close to tons of shops, restaurants, and bars (including a great bar in the hotel). I would definitely stay here again.

Paid for a queen and got a standard size bed. The room was stifling hot at night and could hear lots of noise from the street all night long even on the top floor. Parking was awful. Ended up parked 3 blocks away from the hotel.

On a road trip, we arrived in Flagstaff on a Saturday evening during the summer. The hotel is quite charming, and the staff was very friendly. The room was clean and charming. The parking situation was a little frustraing. The limited number of spots in the hotel's lot were taken; there is no loading zone for guests. Other than that, we were very pleased with our stay.

This hotel has lots of interesting celebrity suites. And a happening bar.

Cute little room. Bathroom was a little stuffy when we checked in. Door was closed with no ventilation. The bed was not good for a person with back issues. Much too soft.

The hotel is almost 100 years old. However, it is well kept and it’s a beautiful building. We enjoyed the stay.

The first time I have ever checked into a hotel and received ear plugs. We had a third floor room. It was very worn..carpet worn down. Sink in the bedroom.
The noise was loud on the third floor from two bars on the main floor. We couldn't stay.
The front desk is was very nice...but the hotel needs a complete remodeling.

Understand historical (old) nature of hotel, but no bathrooms in rooms and noise ruckus was insane!! Was also in room directly above bar and ruckus continued till almost 3am.
Front desk said could not refund and recommended ear plugs.
Would not stayhere again.

Add 35 dollars a night for parking to the cost.

This historic hotel has a lot of charm. It's great if you want a genuine old Flagstaff/Route 66/railroading era experience. The lobby is very nice, but the rooms are pretty run down. Do get a room with an ensuite bathroom; ours had a shared bathroom & no sink, which was inconvenient. The hotel's two bars are noisy, but the room in this old building was surprisingly quiet. The location is excellent; right in the middle of downtown flagstaff with its great bars & restaurants. Fun place to get away from the generic Marriott, comfort Inn, Wyndham boredom.

Loved it. The convenience of being downtown
