Was super cute and clean

Booked 2 rooms for 1 night.
Pros: location to beach, friendly front desk staff, nice lobby, cute snack bar
Cons: paper thin walls between rooms, awful smell in hallway, in on room the phone & AC was not working - I called front desk to make them aware. Said they’d be up to the room in 10 min. Never showed. On the out for the night, stopped at the desk. They wanted to enter room while we were out meanwhile all our stuff was in the room. Was not comfortable with that. So it was never looked at and front desk would not offer a discount. Broken curtain rod, uncomfortable bed, and window installed AC unit was poorly installed. Pic of AC and curtain posted.

The place was cold all night.

the hotel was much better than expected. Street parking was a challenge.

I was looking for a hotel very close to Jones Beach and this one was the closest and least expensive. The lobby was renovated, and typical for an inexpensive hotel that was not a chain. The room was sparse- no coffee maker, and no paper drinking cups. The bathmat was dirty and the air conditioner didn't have a remote control. However the towels and bed linens looked clean. Occupants of the room next door were loud (kids and TV) and kept the outer door open. Another occupant on my floor had an unkempt physical appearance. I suspected that these occupants were either mentally ill or homeless. The front desk worker confirmed that they were homeless and had the right to be there if they paid the reduced housing rate. FYI

No early check in
My check in was late and room had to be switched due to mine not being ready after specified check in
No TV, Cable box was not in working order, called front desk, no one showed.

This place was gross, dated and unsafe. We left one night early and couldn't even get the name of the manager.

This was definitely one of the WORST hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The room itself was in bad shape, bathroom tiny, this hotel should be torn down and start over. Two night in a row there was fire and ambulance called to the hotel with lights and sirens.

We booked 2 double bed rooms but when we arrived they told they had oversold and accommodated us with separate rooms instead. There was an event that went late into the night that was so loud it felt like the party was in our room. We had 48 hours with our son on leave from the military and we just wanted a quiet place for him to catch up on sleep and spend time together but we couldn’t really achieve either with the event and the separate rooms. Very disappointing. The rooms were definitely in disrepair with leaking faucets and doors getting stuck, etc.

Elevator was out had to walk up two flights of stairs. I'm disabled. No ice machine. The rooms were way to small. I will never go there again.

Parking was a little bit of a hassle, but the front desk was extremely welcoming and attentive. Rooms were clean & as expected, great location. Looking forward to our next stay

I had a top floor ocean view room. The room was cozy and it had 3 windows. The bathroom was spacious with an extra large vanity window and a deep porcelain tub. The staff were very courteous and efficient. Last, but not least, the hotel was one block from access to the boardwalk. It was in a quieter part of town which I really appreciated. I would definitely book a similar room and stay there again. Thank you.

When i pulled up to the hotel, there was a crime scene van parked in the front. Apparently one of the LONG TERM guest passed away. When I asked how they passed, the lady at the counter said overdose, then corrected herself and said a heart attack. That's when we realized the place was sketchy. The room smelled like mold, elevator didn't work. There were people who loitered in the front of the hotel. Out of curiosity, my lady and i would ask the locals about the hotel. They had nothing but negative reviews. The fact that they give housing to long term guest didnt sit well with us. My advice for anyone looking to stay in the NY area, call the hotels first and find out if they're housing long term guest and Migrants, because a lot of the hotels are. Or find an AirBNB. No more hotels in NY for me!

Do not believe the negative reviews! This place is super nice and the beach proximity makes it worth price! Honestly compared to other places this place is a steal

Very outdated facilities. From the air conditioner sitting on the floor in the closet to the remote that would not turn the TV off (I had to unplug the TV to turn it off) I was not impressed. Roaches running the floors. Hard wood floors in the rooms makes it sound like there are people with wooden shoes walking above you (my neighbor was very active until 2 a.m.) Praying to God I didn't get bed bugs. Did not make it through the whole night as I had an early flight and sleep was impossible with the amount of noise. The shower was not any better. The pump bottles for the complimentary soap and shampoo would not pump, the heads were broken off. The sink was dripping. The shower curtain is cloth and does not stay in place. The curtains in the room did not completely cover the window. Pillows folded real cute, they sucked it was for show. Definitely feel like I got ripped off. Not a $200 room, barely a $20 room.

Good: proximity to beach and boardwalk
Bad: Incompetent and/or apathetic front desk staff. Rundown facility. Telephone did not work in room. The safe in the room was too small to fit a 13 in. laptop.
3.0
No TV, even after complaining 3 times
No safe
Wobbly toilet
Cogged sink
The king size beds were nice
Note I have requested a refund.

Parking is hard, the room I booked wasn't available, and it smelled like an old hotel, which it is, but they had beds and a shower.

The building is an old building remodeled a while ago. The located is 1 block from beach. The price cant be beat. The desk people were very plesent. Our power went out in our room they provided us with a bigger room. Night free parking may require a several block walk. You can request paid guaranteed parking for 25/night. On par with other hotels. The area is safe all alond the blocks.

Walking distance to beach

Staff was not very knowledgeable. Best part of the hotel was proximity to the beach.

After coming here for several years, I was very disappointed with my stay. The property has become very run down. The safe was broken, the elevator was intermittently broken, there were no hangers or luggage racks, and the mattress had a gross plastic cover that I could hear and feel all night.
3.0
Room is very small, air conditioning barely adequate, street parking tough to find, no amenities.

Close to the beach; nice staff; hotel restaurant was closed & no dining options close.

The hotel was exactly what you expect for one right next to the beach. A little older but updated nicely. Staff was wonderful. Very clean. Only complaint was we had a door connecting to the other room which was obviously locked but the occupant came in late at night and we could hear every little noise through door and the light he turned on came through all the door edges. I’d request a room with no door connection if we stay again.

The Long Beach Hotel is a very old New York building. The floor in our small room wasn’t clean and the air conditioner was so loud we had to turn it off before going to sleep. Had to climb into the bed because it was scrunched right up against the radiator. The only lovely thing about this property is the lobby is pretty and the lady at the front desk was welcoming. A building makeover would be great.

it’s dirty and smelly - for the price it desperately needs an upgrade. the location is super it’s a shame it’s so run down

WORSE hotel. Front desk staff nasty, unhelpful, specially guy named Will. Shower ran brown water, we were told to run it for 30 min or more to clear water, elevator broke down, people trapped in, Fire dept and police came, elevator interior also had a foul odor, our guestroom - king size bed forced to fit very small rm, bed was pushed up against wall and window you can only barely walk around foot of bed and right side of bed. the landline phone in the room is not working, no dial tone, why have one in there ? The cover of the TV remote controls kept falling off. property is outdated. The ONLY restaurant in property took 30 min to serve a regular burger and fries. DO NOT BOOK TO STAY IN THIS HOTEL !!!!!!

Attendant wouldn’t let me check in 15 min early.

They need better workers

They seriously need to replace the carpet on the stairs and hallways.

Great value for the price and three minutes walk tjj in beach
Someone having a late night chat outside the window was a bit annoying but didn’t take from the experience

Nice area

Room was a little small for a king bed. TV was nice. They had 2 ACs which I thought was strange. Good hotel close to beach. Hotel restaurant was good. Good drinks and you get free chips n salsa.
3.0
The property is close to the beach but lacking in basic amenities. There was no breakfast served and restaurants were not very close.

Mold in the room. Very unsafe and dirty.

Staff is welcoming and friendly. The room had a smell but for one night it did its job.

We came in last minute and they couldn’t have been more nice and accommodating.

It was very nice.

Small rooms and you heard neighbors loudly slamming doors and walking upstairs. No breakfast is offered. Low-budget stay all around. Helpful staff though so that was good.
