Not so good neighbours noisy room was clean enough
2.0
The hotel is a bit old and could use some updating. That said though, our checkin and out were very pleasant.
We found our king size bed to be very comfortable and the room was clean. Not enough towels in the bathroom, though we were able to share. Many of the outside lights were not working in the parking area. I was a bit concerned about that, but nothing happened to our vehicle or belongings.

Would've slept ok except folks in 121 went in and out every 10 min slamming their doors til after 3 a.m. Their cat meowed loudly to be let in and they had company coming and going all night long. Meanwhile, no evidence of bedbugs in my room but a bug did crawl on my ear when my head on pillow and when I removed it, it jumped about 18" in the air, twice. Saw it clearly in the day light 20 min after checkin. This means it's head lice left by previous clients in the room.

It's old but good, clean and cozy !!!! Very convenient for parking and going everywhere. Staffs are so friendly and helpful.
2.0
Staff were very helpful and friendly enough. Sadly, the room smelt like smoke, the bed was uncomfortable, and we returned back at night to find someone sleeping on the door step. It didn’t feel like a safe area. The walls are also very thin, and the building and room fixtures felt quite run-down
We booked because it was conveniently located for where we wanted to be in the city. Saskatoon is small and easy enough to get around that I’d recommend spending a little more and getting a hotel a little further out instead. After one night, we moved to another hotel, and the small extra cost and slightly less convenient location was well worth it.

The staff were very professional and helpful, the room was comfortable.

Needs a deep cleaning.

Carpet so dirty to step on.
0.5
Stains on sheets, carpet and bed covers, hair in the bathtub, broken air conditioner, guests smoking in their rooms, bums & homeless people hanging around the building smoking weed, but the reason we decide to leave was people fighting in the elevator and in the hallway.

This hotel room was an immediate disappointment. The room stank of cigarette smoke, body odour, and general dirtiness. The blankets had burn marks, dirt, and red lipstick stains on them which made us wonder if the smoke alarm was working- it was not. The bathroom had bits of toilet paper on the floor, grime on the faucet, and the shower curtain was moldy along the bottom. We actually went out to buy some bleach and disinfectant spray to feel comfortable using the space. We noticed that people were sitting around the property in the parking lot at all hours, which made us feel unsafe in conjunction with the loose door locks and evident tearing out of chain bolts that had been painted over. Only two bath towels were offered- no bath mat, hand towel, or face cloths. We were very surprised that a property like this was even available through the Avion Rewards program. I would not have used my points on this hotel had I known the condition it was in- the pictures on the Avion website were not accurate at all. I would not recommend this hotel and I will be looking to have my points redeemed.

Another great stay at the colonial

There was a homeless camp just down the road.
The a/c was super loud and did not work properly.
Sheets were dingy yellow and stained, along with everything else in the room.
Overall run down and dirty conditions, did not feel overly safe in this location.

Eighth Street is a good area for restaurants, etc., but this hotel needs to be updated and the homeless hanging around the property makes it uncomfortable.
2.0
Lot of homeless people in the area.

The room that we stayed has a broken window screen, ripped window curtains, dusty A/C, fridge is warm (not cold enough) despite adjusting the temp and the A/C is not suited to cool the entire room (too small for the size of the room), that is why our room is too hot on a summer day.

I accidentally booked the he room for Thurs July 18th by accident but needed room for 19th. It was a mistake and upon checking in the front desk told me that they had no rooms. The desk said there was no rooms available anywhere in Saskatoon. I went back on hotels.com and trivalgo with no luck. Called every hotel and motel within a 50km radius of the city. My father had a PET scan this morning being reason we were in the city. Nothing for hotels or motels anywhere and ended up sleeping in dad’s car until 1030 when I got a email saying travelodge south had a room but it was 525 for two doubles and basic room. Then I just got a email saying that Colonial square charged me 118 dollars when I didn’t stay there. Told guy at front desk to cancel res. This isn’t right that u charged me.

The staff is helpful and the beds are comfortable. The area around the hotel does not feel safe as there were a number of people loitering/sleeping on the sidewalk on the hotel property when we arrived. The room smelled terrible like wet dog, and the AC ran all night loudly right next to my head without putting out much cool air. The price was good, for a reason.

Good value for the price. WiFi was poor.

The bath tub needed cleaning! No ice bucket. Ice machine on our floor not working so had to go one floor down for cups of ice. Only one set of towels in room when we arrived but provided when we requested but then cleaners took two sets part way through stay and we had to get a second set again. Front desk staff friendly and helpful. Bed comfortable.

Before i even got to my room i was asked if i wanted to buy some crystal. There were people hanging around the property one female was banging on a room door woth her belongings piled outside the room. When i checked out the manager went to my room to do a damage check before i was allowed to check out. The pictures were not at all like my room. Although it was very dated it was somewhat clean. Mattresses were stained but sheets and pillows were clean. Not a comfortable atay.

This property should be removed from Expedia, it was dirty (dark ring around the tub like it had not been scrubbed in a year), and homeless people haggling with the front desk clerk to get a room but couldn’t afford the deposit (despite having pets). I checked-in and 30 mins later found a different hotel and returned to check-out from this place. Mngr asked why I was checking out and I responded it is just gross and I won’t live this way. I figured either my vehicle would be damaged or someone would try to break-in to the room, not worth it. Expedia tried to get me some money back but the mngr refused. This place should be avoided.

This property is one of the older hotels and in while not in a bad part of Downtown Saskatoon, is on a pretty dingy street. The property facade's is outdated and requires some serious renovations. The worst part is that it didn't feel or smell clean. The room itself was sufficient for my purposes but the AC was a portable unit and there were a few sections of the wall that needed proper touch ups. My biggest issue was that the cleaning staff did a terrible job, there was a pizza box at the elevator during my entire stay and there were sections of the hotel that smelled horribly. The vending machines also didn't work. This could be such a quaint hotel if management put some TLC and money into it. Won't be coming back.

This place is not good and full of native people trying to find free range of place to stay. I had two people knock on my door at 3am which freaked me out. Ifs not very clean there and was missing some room supplies.

Its older but in good condition. The A/C was caked in dust, so I had to clean it before turning it on and the carpet could be vacuumed better. Our room had two queens but only two towels, two hand towels, no wash clothes, no bath mat, one bar of soap, one shampoo, one conditioner for four people . The fridges freezer had so much ice buildup I could not put my food in it. There was two plastic cups and two paper cups but no coffee machine? Ive paid less for nicer accommodations with breakfast included.

Was okay old and dated

Outdated. Rooms not clean. Found cookie wrapper under my bed. The couch in my room was disgusting.. stains and dirty.. not sure why they still keep it in there. Big stains on it such that I couldn’t put anything on it much less touch it. The carpet in the room… questionable.

This is an older property but considering that the hallway, rooms, rugs, bathroom fixtures were very clean an in top notch condition, comparable to much more expensive facility. Staff was very friendly and accommodating, keep up the good work!!
My only suggestion is to maybe clean your entrance windows and to sweep up the grit and garbage around the East entry.

My stay was short as the challenges of hotel location where the reason for my poor experience. The location has many homeless staying in vehicles in the parking lot that the hotel can't control, or Police can remove.
One night there were so many that I did not sleep as I was worried for my vehicle security. Fight in the parking lot at 12 am requiring police intervention. Would not recommend staying anywhere near this location.

Surrounded by an off sale liquor store and two taverns with VLTs it is no surprise that creeps loiter the area.

The worst part was after they did the preauthorization on my credit card he went to enter in my credit card data into their own separate database. When questioned on this there was no good reason given but assured me it would be deleted after my stay which I don't have much confidence that will happen. So if after your stay your credit card has some unusual charges you have a likely suspect. Poor lighting in the room, no lamp on the bedside table. when I moved the bedside table I found the alarm clock had fallen in behind along with some large dust bunnies and skittles on the floor. Obviously hasn't been moved in years. The bed sheets had stains on them. the shelf above the coat hanger had a layer of dust on it. Don't even let me get into the air-conditioning unit. That was a seething cesspool of grossness. You could feel the bacteria being blown out of that thing as it was obvious it had never been cleaned...like ever. Overall a dismal experience with a cleaning crew that does the bare minimum surface cleaning.

Not clean at all.

The hotel is actually a motel which is the worst one that I have ever been to. Unsafe/dirty/inconvenient/unfriendly staff …

We were given a room that had not been cleaned. Stunk like alcohol and was garbage all over and stuff crushed into the floor. The rpom we were switched to had stains all over the blankets and floor. There was dried up blood on the bathroom floor. There was a lot of foot traffic outside of our room.

$250 deposit unacceptable

There wasn’t a bath towel in the bathroom or shampoo provided in the shower.
