The Mandarin Oriental is located at a marvellous coast line. Currently quite a few construction sites cause some noise. The facility is spacious and well equipped with minimalistic interior design. Unfortunately there is a shared balcony with no separation. Accept some plants which provide no visual cover to the neighbouring apartment. The Hakasan restaurant has a stunning location but the prices a far above market value e.g. a plain pakchoi dish cost 25 euro. At the morning buffet two times the bread was molded. The service was sometimes very slow but always friendly. Be aware: Prices are displayed without VAT which means account for roughly 50 % in addition to the prices shown. Over all a nice place but there are other competitive offerings upcoming nearby like the loft Bodrum.

Everything was excellent however the prices of the restaurants in the hotel is expensive! The beach restaurant is way too overpriced. The menu is in euro however when we get the bill it’s in Turkish lira which makes us not know what’s the actual price due to the currency change.

The quality of the staff and dining options for this caliber hotel did not match expectations.
1. Inconsistent, some staff very inhospitable or unknowledgeable. Examples include waiters unable to explain items on the menu or make recommendations. General understanding of English not present. Hotel is more catered to Eastern visitors. Front desk manager told us our issues were ours to remediate with Expedia, bc the room didn't have 3 beds as stated. If MO didn't need Expedia customers they wouldn't advertise there, unacceptable
2. Quality of restaurants: Dishes will be minimum 50 euros, for basic fried half chicken breast with nothing else, or small glass of wine 26. Yet, you will still be dining with a paper napkin. If you are experienced with fine dining you will be completely underwhelmed. Breakfast buffet is good.
3. All about upselling. Everything is a sale opportunity. Activities, drinks, services. They will text you non-stop but completely transparent about only wanting to push sales. Don't fall for the lemoncello shots, usually a restaurant gives those as a courtesy digestiff.. not here, you can pay 24 euros each for those.
4. Prices are higher than advertised. We received price lists from our concierge. Upon checkout would be told the price was wrong, didn't include VAT etc. which happened at the Spa twice.
Generally people there want to say they can pay for everything, but without the quality to back it.
Go to Greece instead, the people are friendlier, food better.

My wife and I spent an amazing 5 days at Mandarin Oriental Bodrum. The facilities, location, and most of all, the hospitality and genuine care from the Mandarin team is top notch. Our ambassador (Mandarin’s interpretation of the butler service, but much less awkward and much cooler) Burak looked after us like royalty, always available on WhatsApp. Eda at reception was super helpful and friendly, recognising us from our earlier stay at Mandarin Dubai. The mixology team at Mandarin Bar invited us to a private cocktail class, and Tugba, Hakan and Furkan showed us how to make amazing espresso martinis and whiskey sours. The meals and drinks were amazing - although a bit on the pricier side, but the quality was impeccable. The breakfast spread included amazing Turkish delicacies as well as Continental offerings, and the team made sure we were properly fed! Custom orders were no problem, and Melih even prepared us a massive box of take away food for our flight home. Overall, we rate Mandarin Oriental hotels very highly, but Mandarin Oriental Bodrum is a class beyond all others we have experienced. Book it, you will not be disappointed!

Just beautiful and excellent service

The staff are great at this hotel, and we would like to make a special mention to Gul, Melih and also Fatima for their amazing personal service with a smile at breakfast, also to Metim at the Mandarin Bar. The breakfast at the hotel is pure indulgence you really feel pampered.
Upon our arrival we were greeted with warm smiles, a welcome drink, and introduced to our personal concierge Burak, who was very pleasant and helpful. He instantly set up a WhatsApp chat and contacted us daily for any bookings or assistance we needed.
The hotel is beautiful, immaculately cleaned and staff at hand as and when needed. We were a little disappointed to hear that both Hakkassan and Lucca restaurants were closed, as we were not made aware of this when we had booked our stay and we had hoped to celebrate a few special occasions there. There were many other good dining options including a steakhouse and sushi restaurant.
We also found the outdoor pools were not heated sufficiently during some days but felt better on other days. A nuisance was the fairly consistent drilling and noise from a nearby property being demolished / constructed, which we were not informed about either when we booked our stay or even when we checked in at the hotel.
Some goodwill gesture would have been welcome when you consider the nearby noise impact, some restaurants being closed, in the form of meal discounts, spa treatments or room upgrade?
Overall an enjoyable stay, and would recommend the hotel.

It is a beautiful hotel but very expensive, even the Wi-Fi is does not come free. I dont reccomend this hotel for young people ad it is boring and more for ultra rich middle age Russians and Arab families. Breakfasf is excellent. The hotel is very clean, sea is clear and warm.

Mandarin Oriental Bodrum is on one of the most beautiful properties in Turkey! We stayed at the hotel for 6 nights and we got to the opportunity to enjoy 2 amazing rooms. Thank you Erdem (Gorguc) for hooking us up with your best rooms! Every detail in both rooms were designed perfectly. One of our rooms had a dreamy pool overlooking the sea. The staff was very friendly, professional and made us feel like we were home the entire time. We enjoyed our long breakfast time every morning and Fatma Teyzes gozlemes were a total hit. We cant wait to go back to Mandarin next summer!

Just enjoyed a wonderful 3 night stay in late-September. The views are gorgeous. The service is exceptional. There are several great dining options. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options for non-meat eaters. The spa, fitness center and indoor pool are top-notch. The experience was beyond 5 star. For the second half of our Bodrum trip, we stayed at the newer 5 star property in the Yalikavak area (I won't mention the name). We wished we had stayed at the Mandarin Oriental for the full stay. Cant' wait to go back!

The room and the grounds are absolutely amazing. It reminded me of Bali and all of the good feelings & thoughtful touches of Asia. We loved the breakfast and were excited to know we could find tons for myself (gf vegan) and my boyfriend (can eat anything on the menu). The beach, pools, grounds were so beautiful and lush. Our King Seaview room was huge and beautiful, but didn't match the pics. We barely had a "view". of the sea. I was disappointed.). The staff was always kind, happy and plentiful. With that, in all honesty, I would not return though. The guy that was our "personal butler"...you're told to have him help you with EVERYthing (room service, hair appt, massage appt, boxed take out breakfast, concierge questions...you name it), just fully disappeared by the morning of our second day. We asked him one question in the morning, and he didn't reply to our What's App for about 3 hours. All he said was sorry for the delay and then we never heard from him the rest of our stay. Considering he comes with the cost of the room...I was very disappointed and at a loss. We also really disliked the constant in and out of the staff into our room. Every single time we left our room, someone was in there for something. It got very annoying...as once a day to clean is more than plenty. Our first AM, we found the coffee maker to be broken (quickly replaced), and our last night, a staff member knocked on the door at 1130PM, and would have just barged in if not for the chain on the lock.

Service was impeccable. Butler service via WhatsApp was handy and easy. Rooms were spacious. If I had to nitpick, breakfast service wasn’t so smooth.
