Had trouble with my card working. I was still able to manage to keep my booking. The lady’s working the front desk were awesome. Thank you ladies.

The rooms are suitable for the price but lacked cleanliness with the number of bugs found. Staff experience was hit or miss. Some were very helpful and made an effort to ensure a positive experience. Other staff lacked compassion and humility. Instead were argumentative and unhelpful. Recommend interacting with the morning shift for assistance.

Property is great but they hold on to your $100 deposit for almost a month!! I stayed for 1 night and they have not released the deposit. I’ve called, emailed, everything except physically drive back over there (because I live an hour away) trying to get my $100 back but nothing. No help and my credit card says they have not released the pending hold. Ridiculous!

Great experience from check in to check out . Clean and quiet room. Loved the courtyard. Perfect for eating, relaxing and doing my work. Location is perfect. Just off the Broadwalk.

The place is perfect for two people. Great location we go down all the time. If you don’t expect too much it’s perfect if you expect a lot for your money don’t go but I recommend this.

Very hard to find office to check-in. Staff are NOT friendly at all. Have to pay mandatory $18/day for parking and a service fee on top of the hotel payment. Room floor not vacuum or sweep, air condition is not close where u sleep so it’s kinda hot. Room door and door in mini hallway both are very hard to open and close. When u shower, the water doesn’t drain quick enough, they need to snake it. Lights and ceiling fan by the bed not working, have to ask to fix. Parking is not wide enough so you really have to be careful where to park. NEVER again I will go back to this HBH hotel. If u like very poor service and not a good hotel, go here at HBH (Hollywood Beach Hotel). I’m rating this hotel a HUGE -10. Believe me, that’s my 2 disaster nights ever. It’s my first time in Florida coming from Alaska.
Close to boardwalk and beach are the only thing that’s good here.

The room was cheap ONLINE ,but when you reach the property you are faced with hidden fees ,like $100 desposit ,property tax $100 ,not to mention PARKING FEES $20 PER NIGHT "TERRIBLE" .In other hotels abroad and some local " THEY " DO NOT charge THEIR GUEST for " PARKING" at THEIR HOTEL .JUST SAD .I watch a lady with a young child from New York,CRYING because she had NO MORE MONEY to pay " DEPOSIT" and property tax at THIS HOTEL and the front desk people were VERY COLD HEARTED towards her and her young child and did NOTHING to assist her ,EVEN with a child at 1:0AM in the morning.Even after she showed the front desk people her booking online DID NOT mentioned ALL THOSE HIDDEN FEES.She literally had to beg for money from strangers to help her situation. And after getting CASH ,they front desk people told her they DON'T accept cash .JUST SAD ,COLD and INUMINE for a person to go through as a guest visiting THIS HOTEL for the first time and had a young child who needed to rest .The staff are COLD HEARTED and SLOW with the check in,and seems to Carter more differently to " THEIR " SPANISH SPEAKING people, which seems a bit racist to me

Beach access just one minute down the street. Amazing beach and loved the space of the room. Breakfast has room for improvement as the cream cheese had so much mould on it I couldn’t eat it even after they scooped it off :-(

We liked the location. Parking was good. Room was clean. Pool areas are small. No exhaust fan in bathroom. No place to set anything in the bathroom (toothbrush or paste, makeup, razor) no place to hang wah cloth or clothing.

The staff was cold/ rude. The photos are deceiving. The room was not very clean.
Rusty door hinges, door was raw unpainted shelves were unfinished bathroom walls not washed. No kitchen utensils or dishes inside the room, Only available upon request.
The cold water side of taps was luke warm at the best of times.. otherwise only warm to hot water coming from the taps. Room service was only available every 3 days which was posted on the room wall after entering and when they did come by they couldnt speak/ understand my simple english. They only delivered towels and left again. No cleaning the room or changing sheets or making beds etc. All kinds of fees added on upon check that were not made very clear upon booking.
The 'free' daily breakfast they claim to serve is only available from 8-9 a.m, in a different building 2 over from where I was staying and it was all base level no name brand things and the milk/ dairy left outside in the 30° heat. The only fruit offered was bananas. The rest just bread and bagels and granola bars. Oatmeal packs and a few cereals
We had someone knocking on our door in the middle of the night and the couple in the room next to us was loudly banging on their door and fighting / arguing etc
The check in front office space was tiny and cramped with people.. and had a very strong awful smell of some kind of air freshener or something terrible. laundry machine was dirty, ate my money and didnt work so they had to bring me over to a diff property

They charged for parking even if you don’t have a car. The room was acceptable everything was working. The beach in 1 minute walk. Also it was pretty tricky to find the office and also it was overcrowded. Their management should reconsider the policy with parking charge for people with no car. You feel deceived but in generally you get what you paid for.

The property was altered of the broken bed, dead cockaroaches as well as the microwave. When I approached management they didnt want to help and said tha I need to contact someone else. We waited in the lobby and nobody helped at all. "No refunds" was all they said. Very gross and not enjoyable. Wonder why they are so against fixing these things.

According to Hotels.com my total bill was to be $208 (non refundable). When I read the confirmation, it was then I found out that a laundry list of extra charges would be levied at the hotel (Hotels.com said $25 would offset those charges). I called Sun Beach Inn and they assured me that an additional $28 would be all. However, arriving at the the Sun Beach Inn I found I had to go to a different building for the Office. Once finding it, and checking in, I was asked if I had a car. I was slapped with an additional charge of $19 for parking ($47 total). Further, a $100 Hold was put on my card that as of yet has not been removed. The breakfast presented on the Hotels.com site is bread, butter, children's cereal, bagels, Tang for orange juice and a cantakerous breakfast host insisting people not eat so much. But I digress...
Of course, they know they have your non-refundable money, and you are without a room if you don't take the charges. Further, a 4pm check-in time and a 11am check-out time cuts into the useable room time which also coincides with a termination of your parking priviledges.
If I was Hotels.com, I would review the verbiage it presents on it's website and scrub the agreements with such establishments so as to spare honest travelers the potential ruinization of their special planned getaway. I will be using Expedia and Travelocity again in my future considerations for accommodations.
BTW...the accommodations were great, comfortable, clean and upscale in decor.

TV didn’t work and neither did the wifi over the five days I was there. Location was good, close to the beach but not beachfront. Breakfast was the most egregious and ghetto idea of a continental spread. The toaster was literally outside in the rain next to the mop bucket. Something right out of an SNL skit. Front desk staff was super rude. No hello thank for coming or anything like that just a real rude can I help you. Oh and the front desk is two blocks away in a whole different hotel. “Buy the parking pass or get towed” right on a sign on the monitor. Parking was completely disorganized and you’re likely to come back to no available spots. There’s a lot of towing going on. Pool was pretty gross but oddly enough the BBQ grill was clean… although it was in front of the bathroom window. Oh and the hidden resort fee and high security deposit. There is nothing resort like about this place by any stretch of the imagination. Some of the rooms are being rented, others are being renovated! And they’re working all night painting and what not. There’s a two page rule sheet they also give you when you get there about all the ways they’ll charge you extra if you don’t do this or that right. Housekeeping is not coming unless you request it. Stove was broken. AC was loud. Couldn’t adjust the fan. There were bugs in the bathroom. All that! And rude on top of that.

The location was perfect, staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast bar was carbs only but only a few short steps to the beach made it all worth it.

It is difficult to give a decent rating to a room that has cockroaches. It took 2 /12 days for management to have someone come in and spray and fill in the holes under the sinks where apparently the roaches were coming from. They offered us another room that was in no way comparable to the superior room we were in - it was more like a cave. They offered nothing else! It is their responsibility to provide us a clean room devoid of roaches. They didn't. Aside from this the TV only got reception for a few local stations. The person they sent to fix this acknowledged that there was nothing that could be done. We don't usually give bad reviews, but I think that when roaches are involved then this type of review is deserved. Also not being able to move us to a similar room or compensate us was not acceptable.

The room was not well kept and the bathroom had black mold growing. Very dirty !

My family and I wanted to spend our last 2 days in Florida at Hollywood Beach, this hotel came up looking like a great little spot, with great amenities and a morning breakfast.
The staff were not rude, just rushed. The room itself was not well maintained, we had a 2 queen bed room. The fridge had no handle, bathroom floor was dirty, paint was significantly peeling of the door in the bathroom.
The pools were full of floating hair and debris, so we did not use them.
The "Breakfast" was aweful. You lines up to go into a little corner room ans they had over ripe Bananas, bagels, cream cheese and bread to make toast, there were the hard boiled eggs in cloudy water that looked deformed ans unedible. There were 2 toasters that everyone shared shared outsode and they had been cleaned in a long time.
Only good this was it was right on the beach, so we only spent a little bit of time.to sleep in the hotel.
We will not be going back to this hotel and would not recommend other to stay there.

Staff was not well trained. Did not activate the keys, we had to go back and forth under the rain to the main office three times. Personal was not polite. Breakfast was cold and not appealing. Check in lasted 45mins. Room was not clean, hair and dirt all over the floor.

The check in process is a joke… you get to the property and there is no way to check in! After circling the building I found a sign about 4x6 inches on the top of the building that in small print, says call this number to check in. Then you call and the front desk has attitude telling me that I have to walk one block to check in! That whole process was bad because the staff were rude and seemed miserable there!!!
Then the room was worn down, dirty, beat up, hardly no light and felt unsafe.
Beware this place!

Real review: so hollywood beach hotels own several properties including sun beach inn, its somewhat of a scam b/c thats why their rating is not impacted when they have several bad reviews! It’s annoying. You have to wait in a long line of people just to get your room key and it’s an OK place, repainted over old walls etc, fairly clean, except under beds! it does give you the cockroach feel so we put Oliver food in the fridge! You have to ask for dishes, etc. ahead of time even though there’s a kitchen. The beds were surprisingly comfortable and it was a quiet place and it’s near the beach! Staff were nice!

The office isn’t located on the premises. I knew that from 2 years ago but it was around the corner then. I went to the same place but it’s now the office for some other hotel. She said I needed to go another block up the street. Nothing there. So I called the phone number that Expedia showed on my reservation and it went to the same place that told me to walk another block up the street. I thought I was being scammed but googled the hotel and got the right phone number who told me the address I needed to go to. They are the office for several hotels now (looks like a corporation took over all the hotels) so it was a bit of a wait to finally get someone. Kind of a long checkin only to be told the room wasn’t ready and to come back later. But I was a bit early so maybe it was my fault. Came back later and the replacement clerk couldn’t find the paperwork so another rather long checkin.
Also, parking used to be free but now it’s $22. Not bad but there’s also now a $25 “resort fee.” So the listed $95 price ends up being $195 after hidden charges and taxes.
Broken bottle in the parking lot, broken bathroom window latch so it won’t lock, no CBS or Fox so we had to watch in an overpriced bar ($60 for 5 beers and a glass of wine), table top is not attached to the base so any weight on one side flips it, no outlets on one side of the bed.
Otherwise a clean, nice room. The towel origami was great.

You could see the beach from our window.. The broadwalk was maybe 30 yards. The area is very quiet. The room was nice and clean. Breakfast is included.

Good - relatively clean & we did get clean towels the 2nd day. Proximity to beach & Broadwalk is the key feature. On our departure the man was helpful with the bus times but I didn't like that they had a little convenience store & one desk clrk had to keep motel guests waiting, not a good setup.
Bad - not even a cup or glass in room & when I asked for one was told a kitchen kit would be delivered - never came. Man at desk couldn't explain how the tv worked so we weren't sure if any channels at all were free. Place is very old, bathroom sink was way too low & I'm short. You could tell it was painted & done up in a hurry & long ago. Breakfast setup was a bit strange especially as you were only supposed to go once into the room where only toast, cereal & granola bars were. But I did get a (styrofoam) cup for the room! Next time I'll spend more even if further from beach.

The room

DO NOT BOOK. I never usually write reviews but VERY disappointed in my experience. I was even scolded and disciplined by the staff for walking into the “free breakfast” room more than once…turns out that is “official policy”…while conveniently the plates and bowls are child size and food was basically bread and generic cereal. They literally have a staff attendant watching everyone fill these small plates like convicts. Truly terrible experience.

We were dropped by the taxi at the given address and there was no lobby. After a long time a guest came by and told us to walk down the road to check in. I stayed with our bags while my husband went but they refused to let him check in because he didn’t make the reservation. We then had to drag our bags to the office and then again back and beyond where we were dropped off. Again no help finding our room. The office address should be given and more helpful staff would improve the experience.

I made my reservation through Expedia, when you arrive at the check inn you are surprised that they make some extra charges and the rate changes. They even charge you for parking and when they give you the key you realize that they put you in a very different hotel than the one published on Expedia. IM not coming back anymore.
