Hot water took forever to get hot. Only two kitchen chairs to sit on or the bed. Door handle stuck open and the door frame was broken like someone kicked it in. The toilet handle came in hooked from the lever. The room was clean and updated. Comforter was thin.

The room smelled like mildew and smoke. The bathroom was unkept. We were told the hotel was sold out so no rooms to move to. We were told rooms are kept up by individual owners. We have been coming here for many years but this will be our last. Room #215 was terrible.

I stayed to enjoy the beach for a few days and was highly satisfied with the hotel. The walk to the beach was amazing and would recommend to anyone. The staff was amazing. Emerald Isle is a great place to relax and enjoy the beach.

Beautiful beach and close to everything but beds were in bad shape, dipped down in the middle, air conditon barely worked and was loud all night, bathroom door kept getting stuck when you shut it. Pool towels are like hand towels barely cover a thigh let alone your whole body.

Our room was clean but had a smell of mildew. The bathroom was outdated but clean. The bed was very comfortable. The microwave did not work properly. No ice available unless you go to lobby. Someone set off fire alarm twice while we were there, once at 3am. That was the extent of it. The beach is very close. The property is well maintained and parking is great! We did have a great time.

Really nice beach front property, our room did not have a bathroom lock which was strange and it would could have used a chair or some other type of seating than the fold out couch but over all it was a nice hotel

Pros-Conveniently next to the beach, decent cleanliness, able to rent beach chairs. Cons-No onsite breakfast or restaurant, multiple issues with furniture/room upkeep, & musty smelling bathroom. Overall, the stay was just okay. I definitely don’t think it’s worth $300 a night, but I suppose being on the beach increases the value.

The Islander Hotel & Resort is clean and quiet with easy access to the beach. Staff is pleasant. Food options nearby are limited. But there are more choices a short drive across the bridge on the mainland.

One of the best family vacations the 5 of us have taken in quite a long time! This location is right on the beach, super easy check-in and friendly staff. Our only complaint would be the lack of available towels both in the room and at the pool.

Room was big, clean and very comfortable. Balcony was great but it overlooked the street side. It’s a bit deceiving when you book with a hotel that is oceanfront and you still have quite a walk to the pool and beach. The hotel is positioned so only the few rooms in the front are oceanfront.

This was my third summer and 6th stay at Islander Hotel. The hotel and Emerald Isle together make my favorite place to take my solo summer recharge stays. Last time I had some issues with nats in my room because it was right by the pool so I had mentioned getting some Bug Zammers for the hallways and corners of the hotel and this year when I went back, they had installed small blue lights that I’m pretty sure or to help with the bugs throughout all the hallways and I noticed that it helped the mat/mosquitos a lot. I am extremely happy to see that they listened to a regular customer! They have views of the ocean from all around the hotel and seating at the corners of the decks for you to sit and see and hear the ocean. You can also see and hear the ocean from the pool. They have their own private entrance to the beach. They also have hammocks on the property. You can check out bikes and beach chairs, depending on availability, to use. There are a lot of good local restaurants nearby. My next stay for September is already scheduled and I’m counting down the days! I honestly would spend a week here every month of the summer, every year, if I could work out a nice deal with the owner lol! Seriously, though!

Location to ocean excellent. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and nice size. Unfortunately, pool had an issue and wasn’t open. We would definitely look at staying here again and would recommend it to others.

My sister and I loved our room. It was very nice and decorated beautifully. The only complaint we had in the room was that the king size bed squeaked every time one of us would turn over. We loved the availability of chairs to take on the beach. The pool was wonderful, and we enjoyed the view of the ocean from the pool. The pool was very clean We appreciated the quiet hours for sleep. We slept great. (The one eye-sore was the piles of towels and sheets waiting to be laundered. You could even smell them when you walked by.) The front desk was always pleasant and towels were available there upon request. We appreciated being able to text the front desk. It was a great place to get away.

The Resort was right on the beach w/ Pool-- that played music and had a bar for guests. Rooms were beautiful and spacious, bed/pillows were super comfy, very safe area, free coffee (either lobby or could make in room), mini fridge w/ separate freezer space, microwave. Would definitely stay at this place again. Must try the Fish Hut if you come.

The hotel is average but they exceed at their service and fall flat on their cleanliness. Theirs a lot they provide for no extra cost: swimming pool, beach access, hammocks, beach volleyball courts, water, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and ice. Along with this they have a friendly staff that is willing to help with your needs. Although they have great service the rooms cause the average rating. The beds aren’t very comfortable and in my room we only had 6 pillows, so two of us only had one pillow and another two had none. The bathroom was very small as well. It made taking a shower very difficult. The shower head is also very low and I’m 5’7 and I was taller than it. Not only was the room uncomfortable because of how it was made but the cleanliness or the lack of so made it even worse. There were no mats so sand got dragged in easily. Also there was visibly sand buildup in the cracks of the floors, it almost looks like mold. Overall it was a pretty average stay with some shortcomings, but if you’re looking at a place to stay at Emerald Isle it’s not a bad choice, but if you’re planning on using the pull out bed I would try finding somewhere else.

Great stay! Very clean! My only complaint was we weren't able to check until 2.5 hours after we were supposed to because they said the room wasnt ready yet, after traveling 6 hours with 2 young boys and nowhere to unload our stuff to get to their swim suits made it less desirable. But after we were able to check into our room was a very pleasant stay!

Housekeeping was very limited, although any items such as clean towels or coffee, soap, etc, was available at the front desk. It was a disappointment that there was no breakfast available, or a restaurant attached to the hotel. We did know that ahead of time, however.

I was not happy with the room I got. It was NOT the room I booked. My view was a roof & a palm tree, and 2 walls. Everything thing else was good, just be careful of what room you are actually booking.
