The bed was super comfortable no problems with noise seeing the passenger Amtrak was amazing never seen one before didn’t even use the earplugs overall an amazing stay

Great place. Allot of trains all through the nught
5.0
My experience exceed the expectation. Located in city central, I had access to the Amtrak, walkable coffee shops, restaurants, and local sights. Wi-Fi worked great absolutely no complaints!

We had to take cold showers there was no hot water. The coffee pot didn’t have an outlet near it. Had to brew coffee in bathroom. We had to wait for a cart to take luggage to room, they only have one.

This is a really beautiful old hotel. The lobby is lovely! The room was spacious and had a comfy leather couch. Dining options are within walking distance.

Great staff and beautiful historic hotel

I missed having a desk to place my computer. The other options were a chair or the bed.
Few electrical outlets easily accessible.
2.5
I liked that the hotel was so quiet. I liked its cleanliness. I liked its authenticity. It was a pleasurable experience.

Didn't get to try the restaurant & bar while they were under renovation
1.5
The room was clean and orderly. The room itself and the furnishings we worn and somewhat distressed. The restaurant and bar were no longer open.

So great. Rooms run down.

Great historic hotel
2.5
The hotel has the vibe of a different period, giving the place a particular charm. We had a room with two queen beds and with a lot of luggage it was a bit crowded, but still ok. The bathtub looked old, but the shower worked very well. We enjoyed the historical decor and furniture.
2.5
We had a great time! Love the history of the hotel. Would defiantly stay again!
2.5
Clean room, hot shower, very comfy bed, and great a/c system… albeit past it’s glory days the history is still evident of an older time in America.

The historic charm is top notch! Super clean. Beds were comfortable. Lots to do within walking distance. Pet friendly. Absolutely recommend and do again!

The Holland Hotel has great character and charm - sign in guest books, city newspapers free in the lobby, woodwork and leatherwork for display and sell - and get this...door keys, not card passes but actual keys. Great staff with reasonable answers to uncommon questions and an Amtrak Train Station one block over. Sit a spell, give the bar a try and grub down in the restaurant. You will enjoy your time.

Cool historic hotel, located across from the train station. Very walkable to restaurants and shops, easy parking options. The rooms are old but tasteful, and could probably use some updates. The main lobby and outdoor courtyard was beautiful and historically decorated. Their restaurant and bar, a centerpiece of the property, was closed for renovations. Too bad.
2.0
Large room that comes complete with the needed ear plugs for train noise. Shows need for maintenance - i.e., stained carpet, toilet lid had a fair sized chip, a 3" chunk was missing from a tile on the stairway. Extra amenities in bathroom.

Interesting historic hotel. Nice lobby and patio. Room was pleasant with a sitting area. Restaurant is closed and was not listed in the online information
4.0
Great place to stay, but next to the railroad. Easy walking to anywhere.

Did not like the train station/tracks out our window. But otherwise great

Staff was very friendly. The receptionist who checked us in, named Alexa, was very friendly, welcoming, and eager to help if we needed anything. The accomodations are tight as far as space but it is understood that it is a historic building. The location is convenient to everything, although Alpine is a small town.

Great stay at this historic hotel! Our room was lovely but the common spaces were my favorite. Beautiful Spanish architecture, lovely decor and amenities.

Really interesting hotel in the heart of downtown Alpine. A bit dated, but kind of cool walking back into history when the hotel was built. Only 50 min from McDonald Observatory. Amtrak stops right in front of the hotel if you don’t want to drive.

The Holland Hotel is a historic hotel in Alpine. It is centrally located and has a unique lobby. However, the rooms are in desperate need of a remodel. We stayed in a junior room (king bed and sofa bed). The sofa bed was lopsided and old. We had extra pillows and blankets and made do but it was uncomfortable.

Old style. Just wish grill was open for breakfast.

It was ok

The hotel was very nice and I liked the historic building. The room was good; however, the bathtub really needs resurfacing and the toilet needs better anchoring to the floor. It wiggled when standing up from sitting on it. Additionally, I would like to have had a restaurant within the hotel.

Unfortunately the rooms were very outdated. The bathroom was very small, the bath tub need to be reenameled which made it look dirty the beds were very uncomfortable, and when we asked for a daily cleaning of the room it wasn't done. There was also air freshners in every outlet it seemed that gave a strong chemical smell throughout the hotel. The hotel lobby was the best part of the hotel and is what drew us to stay.

It’s an awesome historic hotel,
Sad to see the restaurant closed.
Mattress were a bit stiff.

The bar and restaurant had been closed down, but the information in the listing was not updated. We would have stayed elsewhere had we known. The property was run down compared to the last time we saw it and the rooms weren’t especially clean. Staff was only on property until 7 pm, and it was pretty much self serve. Not at all what we expected from a sister property to the Paisano in Marfa.

There’s a train and it’s loud but their provide ear plugs.

Diappointed restaurant and bar were not open

Cool/Nice old hotel. Friendly staff, ample parking. Bar/Restaurant was closed for the 'holidays' due to staffing shortages. Comfy bed, decent bath, clean room. Would definitely stay there again esp since the rate is competitive or better than most chains.
Note!: The train rolls through 2-3 times a night some nights. I slept through it but it woke my GF up all 3 times. It's basically across the street and quite loud, however I'd imagine every hotel/motel in Alpine has the same issue.

The Holland is a very unique hotel and has a lot of charm i would recommend it to friends.

Our Stay at The Holland started out a little rock but ended up being a great, beautiful, hotel. On our way to the hotel we got a call that the gas had to be shut off and there was not going to be any hot water until possibly the next day. They gave us the option to go to a sister property but we decided to see what happened in the morning. By the time we got up the next morning there was hot water! We loved it there, only thing I would have liked was for them to offer breakfast. The restaurant and bar was only open two of the four days we were there. We had dinner and drinks the last night and it was wonderful. They even had live music on the patio. We danced and had a great time! The staff wasvery friendly and helpful. We will definitely be going back!!
