Location was good and breakfast was ok, staffs was nice but very shy :)

I would love to give this hotel a good rating as it is really cute but there were too many negatives. We were given a room right off the lobby which was very noisy. We did ask for change at check in but was refused. Woken up very early with doors slamming and people talking. Tv was useless and fridge made such a loud noise we had to turn it off. Coffee in breakfast room was never hot. Tried to get info on transport to train and receptionist no able. On the positive it was clean, soft pillows, nice pool and good location.

I stayed at three different properties during my time in Luang Prabang. This place was by far my least favorite. This property is much nicer on the outside than the inside. It has a nice courtyard with a pool and a breakfast restaurant next to a lily pond. The service is friendly enough, too. However, the interior and the rooms (at least my room) feel old, dated, and kind of run down. They could definitely use a refresh.

Great little hotel, close to shops and the night market, walk away from the river where you can enjoy great sunset cruises!
Breakfast was nice, room was clean and comfortable.
Overall good experience

Really lovely stay. The only thing we think could be improved is the buffet breakfast. Besides that facilities and staff were very nice.
4.2
The hotel is way overpriced. The rooms are very small and dark, there were many stains on the walls and holes in the ceiling. We had some ants in the room and instead of a shower there was a bathtub which was already black inside. It is a 10 minute walk from the night market but not in the city center. Breakfast is okay, but not what you would expect in that price range. The hotel would have been okay for a low budget hotel but for the price we paid we expected a lot more compared to other hotels we stayed in during our trip.

The hotel was clean which is very important to us. Alex, at the front desk could communicate with us well in English which was super helpful. He arranged a tour for us, train tickets and also gave us great directions. The breakfast had a great variety of food and very good. We would stay at this property again.

The staff did everything possible to make our stay a good one. We had to check our bags in at 5am, no problem. After seeing the Monks almsgiving procession as the receptionist had wisely recommended, we had a good walk about and then we were free to use the pool and sit around until our room was ready later. Lovely pool to use and lie around.
It looks and is a hidden oasis.
Room was a good size. Nice facilities and the whole hotel was constantly being cleaned and recleaned and thus cleanliness was always assured.
A good selection of breakfast choices from the buffet. Beers and soft drinks available to buy from the fridge at reception.
Good advice provided and tours booked and well organised for you if you want (cheaper than other hotels as we found from some fellow tour takers).
A great hotel at a great price

We had a nice stay with Villa Mahasok, though not perfect.
Pros: nice breakfast (delicious pancakes, noodle soup, eggs, toast). Friendly staff (the young man serving breakfast was particularly kind). Clean lobby. Not too far from downtown (about a 10-15 minute walk). Large beds. Mosquito nets. Allowed us to have late check-out to shower after a morning tour.
Cons: Ants in the bathroom, towels a bit yellowed, air conditioner was not the most effective (and extremely noisy). Staff's English ability can be a bit spotty.
The other strange thing was that on check-out, the hotel did not have a record of our payment (we had pre-booked and paid in full via Orbitz) and they wanted us to pay again. It took a couple phone calls/waiting to get it sorted. I would think that a hotel would keep better track of who had paid and who hadn't.
I would recommend Villa Mahasok for a low-budget homestay type hotel, nothing too fancy but comfortable enough.

Good price.

In general we did really enjoyed our stay, staff is super helpful and location is good. The beds are comfortable and the breakfast area is really pleasant. We were not very lucky with our room, which was a bit loud at night sometimes but we got the impression that it was probably the only one with this problem ( and was the only one available so we didn't complain) and it was not too bothering

Staff all very friendly! Wifi was not that great. Breakfast was good and location was good trot walking to Main Street market.

We spent 6 nights in this lovely ,very reasonable, guest house in a not so touristry part of town. In a short 10-15 minute walk you can access the main attractions and lots of places to eat. The breakfast is excellent and slowly we are getting used to the Lao coffee but you can find a delicious coffee downtown at Indigo. Breakfast is served by the tranquil lotus pond which also has comfy sunbeds for relaxing. The staff are friendly and helpful for bookings and any info you need. Laundry can be done here very quickly and reasonably. A rooster will wake you up every morning and continue through most of the day. There is often a great deal of noise at night due to a loud Karokee Bar across the pond but it was New Years so that could be the reason. There is an 11:30 curfew so noise eventually stops. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it. We had a room on the second floor in the second building overlooking the pond and these were the best rooms.

most hotel staffs are good and friendly. we requesred that being prepared for early breakfast the last night we leave. they said yes but next day in the morning one of the hotel staffs insult us.
we couldn't understood lao.
but we can feel it's a kind of curse .
we were unpleasant because of staff's attitude.

라오어를 아는 사람으로선 굉장히 불쾌했습니다.

Short stay here. The room was very nice and cosy, very clean. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was cooked to order with a wide selection. Hotel in walking distance to the main busy areas, but set far enough apart as to be very comfy and quiet.
