The room is clean and spacious.

Beautiful resort with activities for all ages. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food at both restaurants was great. The room was spacious, clean and the beds were soft with high quality linens. I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone looking to visit Hokkaido!!!

Been coming back to stay at the Westin every year for skiing. Since covid it seems the standard has dropped. They have not also maintained the quality of the stay post covid.
Example: quality of free in room amenities dropped, quality of food at breakfast buffet dropped
For the price of the Westin compared to the hotels around the vinicity I would expect the quality to be maintained a little better. Otherwise, the place is clean and service staff are very helpful

The hotel is perfect location for skiing, however i have my 4 years old kid with me and i was surprise to not have any playroom for that small age kid, of course there is some which you have to pay everything butits open in the afternoon, a bit desappointed for Marriot!
The buffet is saving weist, not so many choice and everyday similar. I pay more than 1400 dollars a night, really expensive hotel for what i use to take before as mariot or even hilton which i wasnt desapointed.

Amazing hotel with great facilities and good quality buffet restaurant. Room was very spacious and exceptionally clean.

The convenience to the Rusutsu ski resort is a huge plus. However, the room was expensive and little things - such as waiting in line for 20 minutes to eat at the breakfast buffet - made it seem overpriced for what it delivered. No specific complaints but I would probably stay at the Rusutsu Resort Hotel next time for half the price.

The rooms at the Westin are all lofts- really nice layout with the bedrooms on the corridor floor and a great living room with murphy beds and kitchenette on the lower floor.
The toilet, bathroom sink area, and shower/tub are all in their own rooms so you can close the door to each one for more privacy.
The only thing they don't have that would be nice is a microwave, so you can't heat up leftovers or soup. It forces you to eat at one of the many restaurants (three at the Westin and 5 or 6 at the Rusutsu Resort across the street).
It isn't quite ski in/out but it is a short walk to the chairlift for East Mountain and Mt Isola, and a monorail short walk to West Mountain.

The reception staff is very helpful and friendly with excellent spoken English. For those ski lovers, they will be able to enjoy the easy access to ski rental, and related facilities. The room I stayed is very clean with nice view of ski trail, and the room is very clean as well except it would be nice to have a deodorant spray available in the room so that guests may use as this item is commonly found in most hotels in Japan. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay there.

Rooms were spacious. Large, sprawling hotel. Family hot tub would be nice at a ski resort hotel.

First thing I noticed when I got into the room was toilet which was not clean. I guess the person who used the room previously lost vowels. The cleaning people just did not clean properly.

Onsen is great. However, the seat of outdoor onsen is not comfortable.

Staff English level and service standards, which are not up to an international 5-stars Hotel standard, should be improved.

Nice big clean room! Very good view! Nice food! Need monorail for ski, isn’t very convenience.

A wonderful winter resort. The reception staff were prompt, attentive and professional. The staff who showed us to our room was very polite and helpful. The loft we stayed in was super comfortable. Soft bed, great mountain view, very clean toilets. The water from the tap is specially treated and drinkable. We totally enjoyed our stay in The Westin, highly recommended to whoever is visiting the Rusutsu.

We stayed six nights at the Westin Rusutsu on a recent skiing holiday. The Rusutsu ski resort basically offers two choices of accommodation as there is no village per se. Choose the Westin. It delivers exactly what you expect from a Westin hotel with careful thought having been given to the specific requirements of a ski holiday. The staff manage all the associated logistical issues efficiently and professionally. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed. Note they are split over two levels with a fairly steep staircase to negotiate. The two restaurants (one dedicated to Japanese cuisine) are very good. Given the size of the hotel and the lack of attractive alternative venues, there could probably be a third restaurant added. Given the high number of customers, the main restaurant only offers a buffet option for both breakfast and dinner. The quality is very good but some might find this limiting. Overall an excellent hotel, fully deserving its high rating.

Everything, from environment, ski facilities, food, the room and the onsen was great

Stayed here for 2 nights. Room was 2 levels with the beds upstairs and a big living room downstairs. It can easily sleep up to 6 people. The only issue is the bathroom is downstairs so if you sleep upstairs you need to walk down the stairs in the middle of the night which is a bit of an inconvenience. besides that, the room was really big and impressive.
The hotel has a breakfast buffet in the morning which will run at least $100 for a family of 4 (2 adults / 2 kids). Other than the buffet there isn’t any other breakfast dining option unless you go across to the Rusutsu Resort (10 min monorail ride). We ate dinner there as well and spent another $200 at their Japanese restaurant. Be prepared to spend $300+ on meals per day at the Westin. Closest restaurant is around 40 mins drive from the hotel so you really have no option but to dine at the hotels.
We did enjoy the onsen at the Westin which was nice to have after a long day on the slopes. I also got a foot massage at their spa which was mediocre at best.
The resort has a laundry facility (6 washers / 6 dryers) which is a nice touch but the dryers take a LONG time to dry clothes! Still, it’s better than not having anything at all. Overall, the staff and service was excellent. Would recommend staying here.

It seems a bit understaff especially in this peak season especially in restaurants. Hence, the attitude of some staff is not quite nice.

- long queue at check-in. It took us almost 45 min to finish check in.- we can’t wear yukata to onsen while we could do every other hotels throughout Japan.- a bit of conditions here and there and make our stay feel wonder how they got best ski hotel in 2018.- food choice is limited and we have to take monorail to rusutsu resort which seems to be better choice to stay (at much cheaper price!)- room is good, cleanliness and service staff are excellent.

The rooms were gorgeous but the kitchen and toilet is at the lower floor so you will need to walk up and down the long stairs from the bedroom to access the toilet. There is a monorail to rusutsu resort and it is run very efficiently. The onsen is lovely but you would need to walk to the hotel lobby to the other side (past the hotel main entrance which can be cold during winter). I booked the room for 2 A and 2 C but I had to pay for the extra bed daily eventhough the description says sleeps up to 5 persons and the picture in the booking also shows the 4 beds. The hotel front desk helped us book a private taxi to sapporo and we were quoted 25,000 but in the end we paid 30,000. The pillows were too soft, wish they provided firm pillows instead. The service staff service is commendable and overall we enjoyed our stay.

Our family of 5 stayed here in Dec 2018. It is our first visit to a ski resort and we were very pleased with all that Westin Rusutsu had to offer. Excellent service, rooms were big and clean, service staff were attentive, restaurants and convenience store outside the hotel were just a short walk away. We’ll be back!

Fabulous and spacious family hotel with great Amenities. Fascinating Mt Yotei view from hotel with lots of snow play activities. 3 nights stay a must. Spacious stay enough for family of 4. Will definitely return if happen to visit Hokkaido again.

Fabulous ski resort - room set over 2 floors and housed family of 5 comfortably. Rooms Well maintained and very thoughtfully laid out. Front desk was particularly helpful with resort reservations as well as arranging Donan bus service to Tokayo Onsen for onward travel to Hakodate + Yamato Luggage forwarding which tool the hassle out of lugging multiple luggages. Restaurant within hotel was great, alternative choices of small family run restaurants about 500m away. Onsen was a real treat - particularly the outdoor Onsen.
