Our stay was a week. The noise level was unacceptable at all hours of the night. The air conditioning worked but didn’t work well. We had mold in our bathroom above the door and around it from the humidity I assume. Room service did a great job cleaning the general area and making the beds, but the mold was always there.

Despite some bad reviews I've seen, I found the resort to be a lot of fun, super big and has a lot of entertainment. There is also food for all tastes and quite a variety, the employees in all areas are very friendly and especially those in the buffet area La Altagracia and the Jerk Chicken that is near the beach is the best I have tried in years.

Let's just say I had booked a Xmas trip to Gambia to stay in the RIU hotel resort there, and I have just cancelled the hotel part of the trip, due to this experience staying here at DR's RIU hotel. - Rooms are outdated and need modernising. - Fridge stopped working, and all the ice defrosted leaving a massive pool of water in room. So had to change rooms. - Fridge made loud noises throughout the day and night. - No hot water to take showers in the evening. So had only cold showers in the evenings and you had to make sure you had a hot shower first thing in the morning, whilst "hot water was in the tank" 😡 - I wholeheartedly like tipping when the service is great, even in an all inclusive resort. BUT, being hassled with every mouthful of food, by their servers in the dinning rooms was a bit much! 😡 - This is a party hotel, and as such it's clientele are "loud, party people" If you want a classy experience in Punta Cana, this hotel is not it. I stayed at the Luxury "Serenade Suites" Hotel, which was so classy. Entertainment might not have been as good as the entertainment provided at the RIU but different strokes for different folks.

My biggest issue was is there wasn’t really any late night food options other than the disgusting and old hot dogs, hamburgers, and nachos in the sports bar. Very disappointing!!

Absolutely worst rooms of all the resorts I’ve stayed at. The resort is so beautiful nice pools nice bars and lobbies . The property is large the food is fair to good. Steakhouse has a really dumb reservation proceses and isn’t that great. My first room was hot. The ac would not go colder than 26c (78f) the blow dryer didn’t work the shower drain was very slow and would over flow into the floor. The shower drain was removed when I got the room. Overall the rooms are in great need of updating the style is not bad the problem is the condition of everything mirrors are peeling shower fixtures are rusted shower grout is full of mold and mildew. Safe didn’t work in the first room also. I was able to get a room replacement but not on the first day I was told to come the next day 130pm for a new room other than having to wait till the next day the it was easy and hassle free it was only annoying having to repack and unpack again. On a positive note about the rooms they are very well sized plenty of room nice size balcony but don’t be fooled by garden view because it’s actually the view of the roof of the shops or restaurants on the ground level. Most things throughout the resort need repair and are not functional. There a few ice machines on every floor and I still have not found one that is functional. The elevators I’ve encountered. Only one out of the 4 I tried are functional. Hand dryers at bathroom throughout the resort face the same issue about 1 out of 5 work.

The rooms were disgusting. The shower wouldn't drain and as soon as you turned the water on it smelled like sewer/marsh water. The AC at the different dining options also had that same smell. The door to our patio was broken. The remote for the TV wouldn't work. There were missing pieces of tile on the walls. Pretty sure there was mold on the shower fixtures. The swim-up bars were supposed to close at 6pm, but they came around at 5pm telling people to get out because someone threw up - which was a lie and a disgusting one at that. While some workers were very nice, a lot of them treated you like you were bothering them if you asked a question or asked for help. Overall, one of the worst traveling experiences I have ever had. Would never recommend this place even to my worst enemy.

While the restaurants offered a great variety of food options, most themed restaurants were buffets while we were expecting plated dinners. Most often, food was cold…which brought our experience down. That being said….we had the most fun EVER at this resort!!! The staff is very kind, friendly, and with all the entertainment scheduled throughout the day, you won’t go one minute without being entertained! Facilities are clean and the multiple pools and bars made us feel there were always options for us to be very near refreshments at any time. We WILL be back! Special shout out to Dale Papi on the entertainment staff!!!

Great stay if you coming to meet new people , have fun , and get lit. The food is not the best here except for the jerk spot , rice , mozzarella sticks and the steak. The drinks aren’t as strong so I advise you to buy your own from the airport or ask for double/triple shot on the side or with your drinks. Overall though it was a great time had here.

Our room key kept deactivating in which we had to go due to the front desk to keep getting it activated and we were not the only ones that were having this problem. We never received a face/wash towels our entire stay.(5 days) I asked multiple times, 3 to be exact, to both front desk and housekeeping to have the mini bar and mini fridge restocked but it never was. Food was good I like the multiple restaurant options. The room could’ve been cleaner. The beach was nice.

The staff was attentive- Loved almost everything- partying and the Pink party was absolutely amazing. We had an awesome time there from drinks to foam, to ball throwing just straight out bananas! The transportation back couldve been better. It was too long of a wait. Also, only con thing I see is that they need to have Plan B for rain days (alot of different events for rain days such as a karaoke section, cornhole (bag bean throwing contest) Bingo, just things besides drinking and sitting around waiting for rain that did NOT stop. If they would have that placed , I would have scored this place a 10 so Ill score it a 9 out of 10.

If you just want to party and be treated like a King or Queen this is the place to go, but beyond that it lacks a lot with clean standards and room standards. The rooms are hot and sticky so trying to get a good nights sleep is going to be hard. The resort is not the cleanest so bring disinfectant. The food is so/so but there are a lot of food options which is a plus

This property was very dirty. At one point the water wasn't working. They don't give out wash clothes so I had to purchase my own everyday. Also the only elevator wasn't working and I was on the 4th floor with multiple bags.

Wonderful Staff and loved the location, the beach was right off the property. The jerk chicken & Mimosa was AMAZINGGG...5 STARS!!! I didn't like that they don't have washcloths/face towels. You have to bathe with big hand towels.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS. My boyfriend and i got food poisoning. We were not able to travel back home due to our conditions. The food was horrible even down to the orange juice . I typically don’t drink tap water but even the regular bottled water tasted horribly. Dinner was horrendous so was the breakfast. If you are there to have a good time fine but other than that horrible experience. We had to get new room keys atleast three times a day every single day . I personally enjoyed the pool and that’s about it. Don’t recommend. Also the staff was very very nice and accommodating.

The Riu Republica Resort offers a mixed experience. The positives include a beautiful beach, attentive dining hall staff, and lively entertainment. The overall vibe is great, and the pink party is fun, though extremely overcrowded. The food is decent, but for the price, I expected more. Unfortunately,the pool was dirty , the rooms are a bit run down, and the check-in/out staff weren't very friendly. Additionally, security was an issue; I witnessed a large female guard and her supervisor harassing a girl in the pool right after she won a contest, which seemed driven by jealousy and was quite scary.

Definitely not what’s advertised on the hotel website. Room looked cheap and old, water in bathroom stinks, water leaking from the side of the bath every time we used the shower causing bathroom to be filled with water. Food was nasty, we did not enjoy any of our meal, actually got sick after eating the jerk chicken, could not wait to leave to get some good food. Definitely not the all inclusive experience we were looking for . Would not recommend.
