Excellent location but tiny, spartan room. Good breakfast. Very noisy upstairs and outside window. No heat in rooms.

Great location in the heart of Ouro Preto. Within walking distance of all the beautiful churches and bars/restaurants.

Excellent location, in the center of the city.
Front desk staff extremely helpful, specially Sabrina.
Good breakfast.
Building is has an old, colonial-style feel, but it's well-preserved.

1 minute from Praça tiredentes, about 15 minutes from bus station, location could hardly be better. No Uber so at mercy of local taxi drivers who charge 20 reais to go anywhere in town. In one day, we visited Minas de Passagem by bus, the minerals museum and 3 churches at a leisurely pace. Good food choices near the hotel. Steep streets are hard work - we walked down to Pilar church but caught a bus back up to Tiradentes Square and the sao Francisco Church. The steep streets are cobblestones and hard work going up or down for people, cars and buses. Our bus broke down but nobody was stressed - just waited patiently for the next bus in about 15 minutes.
Really loved Ouro Preto - a world heritage site very well preserved. Our hotel was probably at least 200 years old, so the en-suite bathroom was cramped, but OK.

The staff is truly very helpful and friendly. Their location is great too. The breakfast was good as well. I just wish they had keep our restroom a little cleaner. Overall we had a good stay and a good experience.

I was there during carnaval. The hotel is located downtown in the middle of the festivities. Everything is walking distance! It was just perfect!

Basic, basic hotel. Nice staff though there is a language barrier. Very basic bedding (one sheet, no extra blanket) but an old hotel with architectural charm. Not far from the cathedral, cheaper taxi fare from GIG airport than hotels in Copacabana or Impanema. Good breakfast and vending machines. Iffy WiFi. Stay here if all you need is a place to crash.
