Very dated. Could be updated and still keep the retro charm. Dirty, mildewy, uncomfortable beds, no heat in the separate bedroom and I could hear every step of the live in managers family upstairs. Couldn't park near our room, 4 cops across the street catching someone who assaulted someone up the road, towels above the toilet that had no seat lid... Could be so much better. I impulse booked it to be close to South Beach. Glad our stay is over. Can't seem to add photos to review.

I stayed at the Curly Redwood Lodge to have a cozy place to stay after exploring the Redwood National and State Parks. I loved the hotel and it’s great architectural characteristics that will never go out of style. However one thing did make me uncomfy is that I found a dildo in my room. Luckily I didn’t notice until my last night but it was weird, how does one forget that?! As funny as it was it was still gross. I also noticed that the maid service comes into your room regardless if you ask or not, put the maid door tag or not. So something to be aware of. I didn’t mind! I enjoyed my stay and will stay again, hopefully in a room with no sex toys this time!

Cool retro accommodations, private spacious room.

Good location, clean and great price

Beautifully maintained, clean, and nifty 50’s style motor inn complete with unique curly redwood woodwork and retro furnishings. Very close to the park and with a decent diner across the street.

Old property with things I haven't seen in decades (physical key, baseboard heat, kid tub shower closet, push button phones)

Easy. Cool and retro. Wish they had breakfast, but it was good enough for the night. Bed was ok.

Room was very clean and larger than expected. We arrived late and front desk was still very friendly. Everything inside the room worked. It was close to restaurants and local stores.

Close to the water right along the Pacific coast Highway

Excellent location. Bad smoking areas. Bad TV location in room. Old beds. Old room. New bathroom.

This was our second stay at this hotel. It is truly one-of-a-kind and special accommodation, having been built in the mid-century out of one giant redwood tree. It’s like something out of a 1960s spy movie. And you can walk to a lot of the fun things Crescent City has to offer. The staff are really pleasant and helpful as well.

Manager was very nice and understanding when i booked a room in the middle of the night

Great motel! Room was spacious. Loved the aqua fridge. Easy parking . Convenient restaurant right across street.

Was very quaint and cozy. I enjoyed the history of the property as well.

The room was damp and musty. The check in was not easy. They have you stand outside in the misty rain and open a side window to check in. They appear to be a family that runs the place and lives in office. Bed was okay but couldn’t sleep due to wet feeling in room. They need a dehumidifier! Bathroom was not very big or nice. Shower door would not stay shut but that’s okay because it Felt like showering in a coffin.

Like a trip back to the 1950s. Absolutely charming, every detail was thought of. Even the furnishings. Entire hotel was built from one giant redwood tree, and as a guy who has worked with wood his whole life it was a very endearing experience. Will stay again.

This is a cute motel that was built from one Redwood tree. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were great.

Old School cool and funky

Very spacious and complete room with desk area and lots of windows and light. Highway was loud. No blow dryer in room or coffee in lobby. Extremely clean and up-to-date. Felt very safe, and dining options were nearby.
2.0
The motel is very quaint. Needs upgrades in room and hot water in bathroom sink. The walls are like paper thin so you can hear your neighbors talking and TV.

Very cute and unique property. Very mid-mod and like stepping into a time capsule. Front desk lady was very nice and told us some cool spots to go in the area.

Loved the 60’s vibes! It was very clean and perfect for our one night stay.

This is a nice, old fashioned motor hotel. It is clean and well kept and was quite quiet. The restaurant across the street was also very good, and there is a beach just a short walk away.

I think it’s an ok option for low budget but what I paid, it felt overpriced.

It’s just ok place. Just a heads up.

Stayed for 3 nights. Clean rooms with comfortable bed. Free parking in front of the building. The receptionist was very friendly. Easy checkin process with physical keys. Walkable to many restaurants. Easy access to redwoods since it is located right on 101.

Love the mid century vibes! Cute place - stayed here with our family. Comfortable and clean. Room had a mini fridge and a microwave which we appreciated.

Nice and friendly staff, quick check-in, easy check-out.
A couple of restaurants nearby.
Room smelled a little bit old, so we had to ventilate the room for about 30 minutes.

The coolest thing I saw was elk grazing through the back window
3.0
Way overpriced for an average property where you park on the gravel. No A/C is fine but it’s too loud to leave the windows open all night. We got in late and left early the next morning so it was fine for sleeping but if we were staying any longer I would not have been happy with the state of the room and area for the price. Though I think all the accommodations in this area are overcharging for motel quality.
5.0
Extremely easy parking and easy to see your vehicle from your room.
Dinning is right across the street or just down to the next block.
We can see the marina from our room and got to see the fog come in and out.
Our room was super clean and checking in was a breeze.
Only thing i would like to see changed is the TV placement for the room but that is just asthetics.
