There was an in room fireplace, very romantic. This place is special.

The was terrible wifi. The TV was only Samsung internet TV which worked horribly and when traveling with a 2 year old who loves cartoons and netflix this was a nightmare. The windows didn't have full shades. The bathroom had multiple lights switches to try to figure out. It's in an old house which could be great but it wasn't. The space heater didn't work. No lighting outside, so i fell down steps and rolled my ankle and scuffed my knee. They call themselves a weed hotel which hotels.com forgot to mention. People were in the common area right outside our room for house with a huge gap under the door to the room. No plugs available to charge devices or plug in my own usb chargers. Room was very big and beds we very very comfortable. I love all the pillows they provided. The host was very very friendly and accommodating, but the changes that need to be made couldn't have happened with a call or a complaint. We only stayed 1 of the nights of the 2 we booked and we ended up going to a real hotel with real accommodations. This place could be nice... but it needs much more work and politeness can't make up for the changes that need to be made

We absolutely loved the charm of the old house. Becky made us delicious peach pancakes in the morning, and we went off about town.

I loved Captain’s Quarters!! This was a very cute place. It was like stepping back in time to 1890! We stayed in the Garden View Double room, with the fireplace. It was stunning! One thing I thought was excellent was the rooms were nice and warm, without any heater, despite it being chilly outside.
I will definitely be staying here again!

Good spot if you’re visiting Fort Bragg area. Child friendly. Clean. Nice shared backyard area to sit and chill.

Nice historic building with beautiful spacious grounds. Charming, clean, great location, great coffee, easy check in. Be prepared to hear people walking upstairs if you in the first floor. Also, there is a hefty cleaning fee.

Absolutely loved the Captains Quarters. The home is gorgeous and conveniently located within walking distance to the small downtown area. Becky was a great host and made us some great pancakes in the morning along with some wonderful conversation. The procedes from staying here go for a good cause which was the cherry on top. Would definitely stay here again, hopefully longer next time!

The cleaning fee is $50 , plus booking fee $10 !
Over 55% the listing price. I would like have the actual fees in front, so I know what I am paying for.
It is old house, has old time charm, but the sound proofing is so poor, We can hear every single movement upstairs people had. So the sleepless night is not so enjoyable. The room is small, and the full size bed is for both us to sleep in. We got the the wrong information about how to access our room….

Becky was exceptional at making sure we were taken care of! Captain Quaters is eclectic and a serene place.

I had a pleasant and comfortable one night stay. The They haven't completely solved the challenges of the condition and structure of the 100 year old house, but have made a good effort.

I like that this property hosts dogs, which I don’t mind paying extra. However, I was not expecting the requirement to put the dog in a crate to stay in the room (this was not mentioned anywhere in the description). Since I didn’t bring a crate, I didn’t have much choice but to rent one from the owner, which costs an extra $50 in addition to the dog fee of $25. These charges must also be in cash, which in itself seems a bit fishy.
The house is three stories, and our family was put on the top floor. No elevator. The room was hot and we kept the fan on all night. Initially we let the window open but since there’s no screen, mosquitoes started coming in at dusk so we had to close the window.
On the plus side, the location is good, walking distance to the main street where you can find food options. It’s also not too far from the glass beach (no glass).

This was something i was not expecting. Don't very me wrong they are really nice here and the place is nice it's just the room we stayed in was so noisey. The bed, the floor, the walls and all doors, the slightest touch and simple walking around you hear everything. It was also uneasy for me that the room we stayed in was on the first floor and we like to sleep with the window open. Well we couldnt because the windows had no screen and the window open outwards, now again for some that may be ok but that was the only uneasy thing about this place but other than that it was a nice stop

The building, grounds, fixtures and everything were old and run down. The quilt cover was torn; the lamp shade was torn; the paint was peeling, just everything. Care was taken to create a whimsical funky atmosphere, but it was overdone. The kitchen and breakfast were inadequate. There was no freezer, the microwave didn't work and breakfast was a covered plate of pink cookies/scones/?. There was no oven or stove. The innkeeper seemed pleasant. I saw her at check-in, once when I surprised her neat the kitchen a while later and not again. I left as soon as I could the next morning.

1. Great breakfasts; 2. We picked a room listed as having a king bed: we got the room but not the bed; 3. wiring did not work on one wall; plywood used to fill in doorway to kitchen (room was probably previously a dining room; 4. smell of marijuana was frustrating

We had a great long weekend staying at The Captain’s Quarters. It’s super walkable to the skunk train and north coast brewing. The folks who run this place are super nice. It was clean and safe- we felt right at home and would definitely visit again.

Give this place a look!

We stayed at this property many years ago (1978!!!), but it still has the charm and feeling of a wonderful old house that's been re-purposed. The inn keeper, Becky, is lovely and very sociable.
3.7
This was a very quiet place to stay. The owner and staff were all very helpful and friendly, and went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. Very convenient to shopping in Fort Bragg, and dining as well. The only thing that could have been better was the hot water temperature, it wasn't quite hot enough. Great place for families, with the full use of the kitchen.

Had a great stay! Perfect for an overnight on a roadtrip.

The room size and architecture was great.
3.7
Carpet stained and they are doing construction in the kitchen. Also was self service. You go to kitchen and make your coffee and they have a bag of bread for you this is not continental breakfast. The grounds were unkept and dying. The windows are old and pieces breaking off. Things we old and breaking. The pictures are deceiving. Not worth the money.

We had a nice stay

The room I’d booked was not made available to us when we arrived to check in (Colonial Inn Confirmation # 9181828979667) because their house manager decided to go to a movie and turn her phone off!! She sent me a text 3 hrs after we were there admitting same.
Now, I find that the Colonial Inn has charged me for the room!! I’ve called their offices but they don’t answer and I have left voicemail for them. I’ll be surprised if I hear back, given their track record so far!!
This is really unbelievable and unacceptable.

Let’s be honest, this was an upscale hostile. To check in we had to call a number, I’m pretty sure we woke him up. He seemed nice enough but zero eye contact then disappeared, never to be seen again.
It was very overpriced for just an “ok” stay.

Interesting place to stay! Our room had a fireplace, which was a great perk. But we did not have access to ice or a freezer. The building is old, and while some of it has been restored, parts are in need of sprucing up. I enjoyed our stay, but can't give it 5 stars. If you like staying in funky older buildings then give it a try.

The Inn is such a cute place but our entire stay has been decimated by the way we have been overcharged by the property. We were billed $50 more than what we booked on Expedia. We tried to call the property but the number clearly is not correct. The call goes to some culinary institute. So there is absolutely no way we can contact the hotel which is obviously horrible. All the numbers we found on google also does not work which makes this a very fishy deal!!!!! What’s up there?
On top of this, Expedia also doesnt solve our issue. It’s been pending for like forever. So basically right now we just regret staying there!!!!
So if you wanna stay there, stay at your own risk...

The trip was nice. The inn was ok. Not great not horrible generally what was expected. There was a large family renting most of the inn that was loud using the common areas late outside our room and kept my girlfirend up making her grumpy and my night weekend not as pleasant.

Nice small hotel with a character, good location, helpful stuff. The room was spacious and clean

Location is fantastic. We stayed on 3rd floor and had a great view of the ocean. Room was quaint, as it is a very old building. The bathroom reflected the age of the building-very old and small. The bathroom door became stuck and I thought I was going to be trapped in the bathroom all night as the door knob would not turn. The kitchen was bright and clean, but the only food offered was bagels and jelly. For the price of the room, one would expect more than bread or a bagel.Overall it was an enjoyable stay

It's a quaint property, with the ambience of a lodge, lots of wood and decorated with antique looking pieces. It's also big for a B&B. Our room on the top floor was spacious, the beds were nice.
The breakfast was the biggest disappointment. All they had were a few bread packets, a few spreads, and some oatmeal packets. Nothing fresh or hot. No fruit or yogurt.
The second issue was the bathroom. For such a big room, it was tiny. The shower so small only a pre-teen could be happy with it, adults would have a tough time even turning around in it.
Also, our room didn't have a fan. It was a warm night and we had trouble falling asleep. There was no one to ask because the staff was not available after 9.
