Kerry and Dave are excellent hosts and we had a lovely stay at the York Motel. Located within a very short walk of the main street but tucked away in a quiet spot. Our room and all amenities were spotless with modern bathroom and a good hot shower. Cannot fault their hospitality and can happily recommend. We would book direct with them next time though as our booking information had not been passed onto them in time for our arrival, thankfully Dave was brilliant at resolving the issue, thank you!

The manager of the property was rode the moment we walked through the door. You could only shower between allocated times as the hot water in the property was turned off Would never recommend anyone staying there Terrible experience

Unfortunately it feels very dated, noisy and hot water turned off at 8.30 unless you ask otherwise. I can’t recommend as very sleepless night.

Staff were too controlling. After a hard day on the road I didn't want posters on the spare bed telling me not to sit on that bed. Irritating stuff like that. The room was right on the highway. Noisy!

Overall we had a lovely stay with a very warm welcome on arrival at reception.The room was well equipped and was clean and tidy.Walking distance to town.The only issues was the rooms back onto the great southern highway and the noise from trucks driving through the night kept us awake. Also the pillows were hard.

We planned on stopping overnight in York on a road-trip, and had our travel plans changed by road closures - the owners were very accomodating to set us up for an additional night and make sure we were settled in. Very comfortable and quiet beds, and everything was clean and in good working order. A nice base to explore York and the area either on foot (a short walk down the Main Street into the town) or by car - would recommend anyone staying in York a day or two.

Arrived from a long journey to be met with a message that the proprietor would be "back shortly". Had a drive around the town, followed by a walk along the river and still no one appeared. Finally rang the number supplied, were given the number of the keysafe. Entry to the room was gained, room was adequate, but asked for details of WiFi which was never supplied. Never saw a member of staff and just left the key on departure. Luckily we had a local phone number, take care if you only have access to international calls, will be expensive!!

York is a lovely historic town and the York Motel is just as you to come into town on the highway from Perth, opposite the old flour mill. I can't fault the friendliness of the owners, or the facilities in the room - it was very clean and nicely decorated, with aircon, adequate storage and a good sized bathroom, well stocked fridge and tea/coffee etc, even a few breakfast things. But the bed was VERY firm and could do with a comfy mattress topper. The roller-shutter did a good job of blocking the light but still some noise from the highway. And to top it off we had the smoke alarm chirping intermittently all night with a low battery! The owner was very apologetic but I can't go above average here - had the mattress been more comfortable I definitely would have gone higher. Perhaps some people like a firm mattress but I suspect most would prefer a softer one than this!
