Returning after ten years absence, this small private hotel is a real gem. Smack in the middle of Vienna ‘s shopping district, it remains a haven of good old fashioned charm and service. Great breakfasts too.

We loved being on a pedestrian street in the very center of Old Vienna. Not only was it near the entrance to the Palace, museums, and shopping, it was very quiet at night, and there were very nice restaurants nearby. Vienna is a very beautiful and walkable city.

This is the fourth time my wife and I have stayed in this excellent independent boutique hotel. And it came through with flying colours yet again .
A very comfortable room, with a large luxurious bed. Pleasant staff. Exceptional breakfasts. And smack in the middle of the city. Definitely a six star recommendation.

I have spoken to hotels.com the very first day. I was expecting a proper hotel like on the photo online and arrive in a Pension they called boutique hotel. I was quite disappointed. No Wifi, could not arrange my daily visits, just about pleasant on the first day, very hot could not control heat, very old and basic, above all terribly noisy at night. Could hear everything, a woman speaking on the phone over 2 hours till one am every night, could hear the toilets, 7am breakfast people, 10pm the staff. Speaking at reception, everything, was like an old flat very basic.
One thing was good, the location and breakfast and staff in the morning. I do not recommend this place,

If you are thinking about booking with hotel and you want a view; ask them if all of the scaffolding from in front of the building is removed so you can actually see outside of your room. The scaffolding was actually covered with a tarp so you couldn’t see anything from the room. Big money spent for a room with a view that turned out to have no view.

Authentic building right in the centre of Vienna.
Was a bit hot but was able to open the window.

There is no question that this hotel is in a fantastic location! It's right in the middle of and easy walking distance to all the main (first time visit) sites to see in Vienna. And we were there just after Christmas and still had the opportunity to enjoy their massive Christmas Markets. As for the hotel itself, as Rick Stevens put in his travel book about this hotel, it's "worn & threadbare." Very true. The pictures on Expedia site and web look much nicer than they really are. The front desk staff could have been more welcoming in their greet. They were gruff and I felt like we were intruding on them and they were annoyed that they had to stop what they were doing. The biggest issue for me was NO WIFI! Ok, they have "some" wifi, but even when checking in they mentioned that their wifi was really bad. HUH? In this day and age and at THIS location?!?! it was very annoying trying to get travel related items done and some work done from home. Completely uncalled for! I could mention other things like if you were any taller than my 5'6" and needed to sit on the commode in their very small water closet, you'd end up with bruises on your head and knees because the wall is so close. In closing, for the location, it was a great price and the place has "character" and they have a very nice breakfast. For some it could just be just the right place. But for my family of four after a two week Xmas trip through Germany and Austria in some fabulous hotels, this was very disappointing.

If you’re in Vienna for holidays, this is the place! It’s on a bustling street well decorated for Christmas holidays during our stay, walkable to all the attractions. It’s also one of the many residences that Mozart lived!

Good location and friendly staff. No heater in the room (was extremely cold) and internet is almost none. If you are planning on combined business and pleasure, the business internet doesn't exist there. But in general, all good.

Fantastic hotel with period features and very central location. The decor was elegant yet unpretentious. The breakfast quality was great with a wide selection of healthy options.

Perfect location, can't beat it. Great service and top class breakfast, when we'll be back in Vienna it'll be here for sure.

Pros: Great location. Close to many shops and sights. Room was spacious, and clean. Beautiful classic European style. Breakfast was delicious
Cons: Entrance is on a main walk way, so taxi had to drop us off around the corner.

Great location with access to many sights by foot but only a couple of minutes from the metro station. Place was clean and comfortable. The staff were very nice and any interactions with them was positive. The only thing that I would say is that sometimes when other people unlock their door it may sound like someone is unlocking yours but I think this is just the type of old building so don't worry, it is very safe and secure. I would definitely be happy to stay here again in the future.

Such a lovely little hotel. My family loved both the location and the breakfasts. We will be back!

Pension Nossek is located in an old building in the city centre. As the name suggests, this is an old-style guest house. If you want to feel like you've been transported a hundred years into the past, you'll love this place. If you expect modern hotel comfort, you may be a bit disappointed. The location is brilliant. A few steps from the St. Stephen's Cathedral, the Vienna Opera, etc. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. Very clean. My room was cleaned even on Sunday! Breakfast quite decent and served for a long time, so you don't have to get up in the early morning. Very good price-value ratio. I will definitely use it if I go to Vienna in the future.

We so enjoyed our stay at Hotel Nossek! The room we had was very large by European standards and the whole hotel had an old world feeling. The breakfast was amazing with many delicious options as well as eggs if desired. The best part was being greeted by Gabriella each morning; she is delightful and kind and helpful and she made our stay even better. The hotel is close to everything you might want/need.and it was perfect for our five days in Vienna.

It was difficult to find. Taxis had to drop you a block away.
BUT it was clean, the staff were excellent. Breakfast was great.

Right in the heart of Vienna. Be careful…some rooms do not have toilet or shower facilities in the room, but down the corridor, even though for exclusive use of a particular room number. Using the aircon causes an annoying clicking sound from the water extractor, but air cons are needed. Breakfast buffet offerings are adequate. The desk staff are excellent.

Great location not a stone's thrkw from the palace with a history all of its own

Loved everything! It"s beauty, spotlessness, history, incredibly comfortable bed, lovey armoires. Access to the underground and walkable distances to historic places like the Vienna Opera House, Hotel Sacher, Figlmuller. Amazing breakfast with refills on coffee. But most of all, excellent service and advice from Katerina. Can't recommend Pension Nossek.

perfect location, lovely staff and very good breakfast. Two bad things though: internet didn't work at all and they are not flexible with check-in (but this is written in their profile).

I would recommend this hotel if you want to be in the center of action yet want peace and quiet. It’s clean, safe, the staff are very helpful. The location is great. It’s like staying at a pension one reads about.

Positives : This location is great, although amid luxury goods store, right on the main Christ,as area full of tourists. But restaurants will require a little walking. Free included breakfast, and an elevator are nice. And tv includes a number of channels in German and French (but no English except financial news). There is a nice little lounge to use the computer. Free wifi, which good at times, but extremely slow for a day or two.
Negatives : The bed and pillow are very cheap and not comfortable - the point of giving a back ache. Although no street noise at all, there can be a lot of noise from fellow guests through thin walls and loud locking doors. Also no toilet in room. No one on duty past 9 pm.

I really can’t brag enough about this location, it’s close to just about anything. As soon as you step out you’re looking at all the exclusive stores, the cutest street. No matter which way you’re going you’re gonna stumble across one of the most famous churches, or the national library or something! Everything is so close by and if you want to visit something outside of the centrum, the subway is just a couple of minutes away. The Pension was also in this lovely building with such beautiful architecture. There are lots of signs explaining both where to find the reception and your room, so it’s super easy! The receptionists were all friendly and both check in and check out took about 2-3 minutes each. I had a one bed room since I was traveling alone to Vienna to meet friends there and the room was so nice and cute! It was decorated in traditional well kept furniture which you would find in vintage furniture stores, the ceilings were high, the bed was comfy. All the necessities were there. Very pleased with my stay!

The area where the hotel is located are very busy, however the hotel was surprisingly very quiet. The hotel is conveniently located near a metro stop, and also two stops away from wein mitte stn, to catch the airport train. Also, the room is okay and the detached bathrooms cleanliness is immaculate. The only dislike about the hotel was the sheets having some stains and also the breakfast, which needs some improvement.
