If you can find another place to stay in Boquette, do it. I originally booked two room, one for myself, and for my daughter and her fiancé, when we arrive and checked, My daughter called from the adjacent room and said come take a look in the shower, and there was black mold in there. Since her fiancé is highly allergic, we simply said we couldn’t stay there. Outside the window of our rooms, an old toilet, and other miscellaneous extra building materials were in plain view- not the best vista-
They refused to give a refund. I average 70+ nights a year, traveling in hotels all over and this is my only negative review of any of them for what that’s worth-

Staff were very helpful , location was good. Breakfast was good. Convenient to have coffee shop on premises.
Room was decent size. Only downside was bathroom a bit crammed.

This is a simple hotel with adequate rooms. We were in #12, and had our own bathroom, many have a shared bathroom. Our room had one queen bed and one double bed, one TV, one fan, a louver window, shades on upper windows. Barely room to store 4 suitcases, but we managed for three nights. Breakfast of eggs, hashbrowns and toast, fruit, and coffee/tea/water included. It is also a coffee shop in the lobby and Jarvik was a wizard at making an iced or hot latte. 12 oz was $4. He was awesome. Very kind and helpful staff. Parking in the back. Close to resturants. Careful walking, sidewalks are a luxury, changes in levels and steps are frequent. Located on the main or principle road through Boquete. Gives one a chance to explore easily.

Personnel and location were lovely, but no hot water in one room, windows that didn’t fully close (allowing mosquitos and noise to enter), and minimal lighting in the rooms were all problematic. Property is very dated.

Very nice and helpful staff. Great location and close to many great restaurants

Know this first: this is a very BASIC hotel. The rooms are small; the overall property is oldish & somewhat tired. Plugs for things like charging phones & tablets are few & awkwardly placed. The lighting in the room is terrible. Having said that and WITHIN that framework - our stay was absolutely fine & dare I say ... pleasant! The staff here were all excellent! Hard working folks who go out of their way to ensure your comfort. Our room was well cleaned and fresh towels provided daily (whch has NOT been our experience throughout Panama.) The breakfast was basic but earnestly & lovingly prepared and served on the patio outside. Coffee is good - you can even have an Espresso, Latte or Americano if you wish! I enjoyed my daily Vanilla Latte's with the backdrop of the gorgeous moutains that surround the town!
The location is great - within walking distance to all the bars, restaurants, coffee shops along the "main drag" - but far enough away from the noise & the traffic to ensure a good night's sleep.
BUYER BEWARE: Several rooms in this hotel do NOT have bathrooms. Make sure when you book that your room is described with a "private bathroom" - unless you don't mind sharing. We paid a little more for a king size room with a private bathroom and were glad that we did.

Bueno, cómodo, ambiente relajante y cercania a buenos restaurantes y comercios. La habitacion impecable en limpieza, con los implementos basicos y suficientes. Un jardin y ambiente al alrededor de tranquilidad. Cozy!

This is a cute little hotel but extremely basic there is no refrigerator in the room and the furniture is rather old however the staff are willing to help as they can. Breakfast coffee extremely watery for a coffee growing region with a cafe in the hotel and breakfast was a remarkable cold eggs and plain white toast somewhat sad given they make a good effort in other ways

The staff are very helpful and the hotel is kept very clean. Those are good things about this place. However, I would not stay here again. My first issue is the 'bait and switch' tactic that we experienced. We booked a room over Expedia only to find out when we checked in that 'Oh, the room you booked doesn't have a bathroom. If you want a room with a bathroom, that will be another $23.00 a night." This is a 'bait and switch' tactic and this hotel should be embarrassed for doing something so foolish in this day and age when the owner of the property must know that your guests are going to write online reviews and tell others about this stunt that you're pulling. Secondly, this hotel was probably a good property 35 or 40 years ago but the lack of reinvestment in it is clearly obvious. For example, it should have dehumidifiers in each room. We had heavy rain each afternoon and there was so much precipitation in the air, that the tile floor of our room was slippery to the point where you could fall and injure yourself. When the pages of your guests' passports are curling up from moisture in the room, it's time to bite the bullet and do something about this. Great people working here but I would not recommend this place to anyone except as a last resort.

It is super well located but the hotel itself is just ok. The staff is not super welcoming and friendly and rooms are too basic. Overall I would say it is too expensive for what you get.

PROS: location is walkable in town, beds were comfortable enough, loved the upstairs outdoor covered patio, priced well, they offer breakfast with advance noticeCONS: room 5 is an after thought and DEFINITELY doesnt look like the picture..very sparsely furnished and extremely small, barely fit the double bed and bathroom they squeezed in, jacuzzi not filled, quiet time at 9pm on shared patio on a weekend..

Bed and breakfast type of place with a mother daughter host. Friendly and quiet place. Can hear the comings and going’s of other guests but everyone was respectful. Nice terraces for eating outside or lounging

I've been to Boquete several times but it was my wife's first trip there. We enjoyed our time in Hotel Central, especially talking to Tim the owner about all the changes that are taking place in Western Panama. He's a wealth of information and well connected to know the 'inside scoop'. The only thing guests need to be aware when making the reservation - be sure you know if the room is sharing a bathroom. I booked on Hotels.com and there was no reference to shared baths. There was also nothing in the confirmation documents I received. Just be sure and ask if you care.

If one were to imagine the perfect combination of a cozy B&B, with the enhanced levels of professionalism, service provision and organization that one might find in a more upscale European hotel, you'd then begin to have a fair picture of this small hotel. I stayed there for a week, and could not have been more favorably impressed by the whole experience.

I had a wonderful time at Hotel Central Boquete. The rooms were very clean, they provided toiletries and towels. The view from the hotel was fabulous and a short walk into town. Tim and his wife were very kind. When I arrived they upgraded my room from a budget double to a room with a view with no extra charge. It was so peaceful at this hotel I decided to stay one more night. I highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is outside the busy part of the city and is own by an american. Clean and nice place to stay. The coffee shop has good coffee but the coffee for breakfast is not that great. The breakfast was very nice.

The weather was terrible when I stayed in this hotel & so it felt a bit chillier than it probably is.The room I stayed in was a single with a single bed & was very small but was fine as I only had one bag. The attached private bathroom was a good size and clean with plenty of amenities & clean towels. There was a small TV with lots of channels. The slot window of the room wouldnt close all the way and so it was a bit windy and drafty in the room. The hotel can also be a bit noisy as I could hear people entering and leaving their rooms and talking outside on the porch at night. The downstairs has a great coffee shop & the owner is very helpful.I would stay again.

The staff was great, the breakfast was awesome. There are rules to follow that were fine, but someone needs to tell the neighborhood dog that it is quite time from 9 pm till 7am as stated in the rules.
