Disgusting. Walked out of room immediately

Hotel is an older property. Bed and bedding was also older as was the bathroom. It was so so clean wise. Biggest gripe was as we checked in, we were informed there was a $15 resort fee that we knew nothing about from booking through your website. We stayed just one night, so don’t know if that fee was for the entire stay or per night. Property is up a hill, but an easy 7 or so minute from the ferry. We spent little time in the room other than to sleep, so it was an adequate experience. Fun to visit Avalon - we were reasonably close to all the things we wanted to do. If we went again we’d probably stay elsewhere.

It’s worth it to upgrade to a partial ocean view or full ocean view because the view is spectacular and you are guaranteed a nice outdoor space. The jacuzzi was fantastic and hardly used by other guests. Free ice, water, coffee. Extremely close to Casino Point and the main street.

Definitely not worth it

I think we paid a reasonable price but it’s a very old condo that needs a lot of construction.

Right in front of our room there were pieces of plywood on the floor and orange cones which made the place feel dirty and run down. The carpet in the room was ratty and worn in areas. The shower head constantly dripped and there was some dirty areas. The staff were professional and courteous.

I’m so happy I was able to stay at this hotel! The front desk staff was so kind and helpful and the room was very nice,I can’t wait to go back !

The door fell off and staff didn’t want to accommodate me so a new room. After demanding to speak with the manager (who only responds to emails), I was finally offered a new room, just to find that the Facet knob in the shower was broken. It fell off, couldn’t be placed back right, which resulted in no hot water.

This was the best choice for our anniversary trip! We were “Guest of the day” and got an upgraded room and early check in/check out which was so nice. It is a very clean place and the staff was so kind and gave us some great suggestions for things to do. We will be staying here again on our next trips to the island no doubt.

Beautiful views of the harbor and surrounding area. Balcony overlooking everything from a good angle. Full Kitchen.

Was a great stay, simply room doesn’t have much to match the price, but all in all, good for a weekend away from home on a nice island!!!

Stay away. The room we ended up in doesn't look anything like the pictures. This building should be condemned. I paid nearly $700 for a night here in a room that wouldn't have met my standards for a $70 room at Motel 6. The carpet was coming up in places, the ceiling was coming down in places, there were holes and scuffs in the walls. The appliances were from the 1970's and several of them were non-operational. The "air-conditioning" was a window unit that wouldn't turn on due to faulty wiring in the walls. Stay away from this property.

I felt like the pictures did not do it justice. We loved this place.

To check in early I paid $50, Which is understandable except…when we got to our room, there was plywood near entrance steps and caution cone. Then entrance door was Arcadia door we opened with a key. That Arcadia door looked like it had tint that needed to be redone. Actually all the windows were like that. Got out of the shower and just walked around the room for less than a minute my feet were black from the floor. I had to wash my feet and make sure my shoes were on at all times. The bed had a mattress with spring that may have been comfortable in the 80’s. Made sounds every time you moved.
No blow dryer in the room.

The staff was super nice and the location was fantastic . However , the room was very outdated , definitely dirty and was extremely overpriced .

Was just a meh property. I didn't feel secure by the sliding glass door with one key. A bit run down on the closet spacing. Hot tub was cool though, I just felt like it was overpriced for what it was.

the room is dark, there is no access to light, and there is a strong smell of mold. we didn't have a refrigerator, but we were counting on it. they did not agree to help us in any way, we asked several times. The hot tub doesn't work either. check-in at 16:00, and check-out at 11:00 in the morning, it's not a day, it's just an overnight stay. it turns out to be too expensive for the barn. It's unpleasant, they ruined the impression.

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Broken windows, water damage on the property, stained ugly stucco and in my room the desk was literally falling apart. We will never be back to this hotel.

The hotel was cheap considering I paid $300 the night other hotels are closer and better .The staff was really nice i checked out at 11:00 and they let me keep my bags there untill 6:00pm while I was around the island I came back at 7:00 from the beach and the staff let me use there outdoor shower area to rinse off and change in there restrooms

Worst stay ever. Upon arrival we were given a room that was falling apart literally. It smell like smoke and infestation. Run down not kept up at all roaches in the rooms, paint pilling off wall, mold in the bathroom walls, the next room they gave us the front door was damage but it seem cleaner however once inside the window was broken unable to open, the sky light was cracked paint was chipping, the bathroom shower you had a choice of cold or hot not in between. Once we fell a sleep the bugs came out I was awaken by roaches on my arm and my pillow. Worst stay ever. I do not recommend this hotel.

Seems like there were condos at some point in the past....the room we were in was in need of update and repair. Broken blinds, floor was a mess ...only one window a/c in front room...no ac in the bedroom. The stove was from the 70's! Service was great...front desk was very helpful in allowing us to store our luggage before our room was ready and after we checked out waiting for the ferry to get home.

Heinous stench and wet old carpet. Bedding seemed grimy. There’s no real service provided that is traveler friendly. Someone needs to buy this property and stop ripping unsuspecting travelers off. Young lady at lobby was very accommodating although seemed to not have much power over anything due to “ management”

Tv didn’t work, lights didn’t work, no power in room for all sockets, noisy bathroom fan, broken glass door to enter room, toilet not secure to floor, ac didn’t work. Probably the crappiest room I’ve staying the last 20 years.

Worst experience! Upon arrival I realized I was completely deceived as what is advertised is not so. The hotel is a dump, old dingy and dirty! The pictures online are not what this hotel looks like. Upon arrival the room stunk like pot, and ugly roll away was in living room, the shelves and carpet were dirty, walls are chipped/water stains and visible rust. The patio was filthy/a cup with old cigarette buds stood on table. The jacuzzi outdoors was unappealing had a green hose for hot water (who does that?). There are no words to describe how disgusting this place was. Came to Catalina with my family only to have a huge dent put on our stay.

I thought it was cute that they choose a random guest to be guest of the day with benefits of upgraded room, early check in and and later check out. Rooms had older desogn but still up kept and nice. I liked that the hotel was on hill, you can see everything. I would stay here again

It was my wife and I’s 20th wedding anniversary and when we booked we filled out the “special requests” section stating that if they did anything special we’d greatly appreciate it. While checking in online (a link was sent to do so) we again filled out the special request section asking the same as before but also asked for a later check out-w/o a charge. We got there earlier than check in time and front desk said we could check in for a $20 extra fee. I asked if any of our requests were read because it was our 20th and was told that they don’t do anything special and it’s under new mngmt, i.e., they’ll charge whatever they want w/ o consideration. Ok. Fine. The room was a makeshift one as the entrance was through a sliding glass door with a lock that didn’t work 1/2 the time. There was a table that looked like it was picked up from a “for free” corner with a metal chair. The coffee maker’s cord didn’t reach the outlet and there was more decafe than caffeinated pods of which was never replenished. Bathroom was alright-better than the room but no hair dryer! No dresser just a cheap stand with pull out bins made from felt-like material. The floor was dirty! We’ve stayed at Motel 6s that were cleaner and more homie. Staff was super nice but this management/owner needs to have a Chef Ramsey type come and teach them that they’re in the hospitality business. The area was quiet and quaint but there are many hotels on the island that would serve better hospitality.

Furniture in very bad condition. Not enough linen provided for 3 adults. Tv disconnects. Rusty and moldy kitchen appliances. Jacuzzi was dirty and unsatisfactory. Access to hotel requires walking up 2 hills.
