GREAT stay! A 5-minute walk out of Salento. VERY nice environment: nature, colorful, amazing views, quiet, nice-strong hot water! Caretakers Fidel and his wife were incredibly helpful and friendly, a MUST stay, a MUST experience!

It’s not far from the main road, but you have to be in a very good shape to walk towards and from the city. When it’s raining, it becomes very dangerous. And if it’s cold outside, you can’t have a heater or a/c to warm up.

It's scenic view is something to go back to.
Water is brownish and drinking water needs to be bought.
Staff are so helpful!

Extraordinary stay with a stunning view. Located close to the town, but far enough to get a peaceful ambience. Very nice hosts who provided everything we needed and could help with contact to various services including day trips, laundry services and our onwards transport to Cali.

Make your stay in Salento special with a stay at the Finca Cardonales. This is a hotel more than a hostel so don’t let the name put you off. The property is gorgeous, in traditional Colombian style, surrounded by beautiful gardens and amazing views of the town from the terraces. It is a delightful place and Alba will make you feel very welcome and is extremely helpful. Rooms are adequately furnished with TV, hot water and great wi-Fi. Breakfast is available in morning for a small extra charge and snacks, refreshments and vino are available at a small snack shop. The finca is a ten minute walk from the town and all of its restaurants and stores.A truly enchanting experience.

The service is horrible. My stayed 4 days and we did not get any towels the next day. The service lady gárrase my wife for leaving towels on floor but we did it because the second day did not clean them. Don José the person in charge follows my wife and me and he almost hit me. I asked to call the police or the owner and he said no. We felt threatened because the attendant followed us to the room with the lady that bringing the towels. I asked for money back and he said no. Please don’t book at this hotel borrible service and the attendants don’t know how to treat guests. My wife doesn’t feels service staying at this hotel

Fantastic hostal in Salento, Colombia. 10 minutes walking from the city center Hostal Finca Cardonales is located in an incredible position with one of the best possible view of the city and the countryside around.
The hostal is clean, with large, beautifully decorated private rooms. It has a fantastic garden and oh did I mention the views? unforgettable! it is the perfect base to explore the Cocora valley and the "zona cafetera" with the coffee plantations.
There is a pick up serviceyou can book in advance available from both Armenia or Pereira airports.
The property is very quick in answering all your question (in English)
Very recommended.

The views above the town are great, sitting on the terrace watching the clouds roll past and the birds flying around. We often took a Willy Jeep up the hill from town, for 5,000 peso, and you can also call them and ask them to collect you. The walkway across the top of the hill to the mirador is handy for making your way back down to town.We were the only guests staying, and had very attentive service, with some miscommunication thrown in there (four coffees one morning after saying we didn't want any). The room was clean and comfortable. The shower is hot if you turn it on very slowly and only a tiny bit.Not sure I would recommend the breakfast, the arepas weren't great.

We visited during semana santa, so the entire town was crowded. We arrived to the hotel after traveling and commuting on a bus, so we were pretty exhausted. So be prepared for a bit of a walk. (Without bags and being exhausted from traveling, the walk to the finca is very beautiful and enjoyable).
We arrived and were greeted by the owner of the hotel. I told her that we were going to do the Ocaso coffee tour and once we were about to head out she said we can purchase the tickets with her. The hostel didn't accept credit cards so i declined to buy them from her and she seemed upset. The only time I saw her smile and be friendly was when my boyfriend decided to buy a pancho from her. She seemed eager to always make a buck from her guests.
I would have still recommended this hostel if it weren't for the dirty sheets! They smelled terrible and we lifted up the sheets to see if they were clean and we found a ton of dirt and hair! I am guessing that because we visited during high travel season they probably didn't have time to wash the sheets! I slept fully clothed and placed a large scarf on my pillow to block the terrible smell. We booked a private room with a private bathroom, for the price we payed I at least expected clean sheets.

Located in a beautiful setting this place provides a good home feeling. Truly Friendly staff. The hot shower did not work reliably. There is construction-expansion going and the place will be even better.
