Two sides to this hotel. One side, a nice hotel with good size rooms, clean, decent swimming pool, friendly staff (for Laos), located generally away from the noisy town centre and lovely views of limestone karsts. Kop Jai who worked at the hotel was very helpful to try and resolve where possible the issues we had.
Other side and points to be aware of. The bathroom is a good size but is a wet room so most of the area gets wet after showering.
Next to this hotel their is a new hotel being built, workmen start at 08:00 and finish at 17:00. After one night we asked to be moved and this request was kindly accommodated. I would guess there is still another 12 months of building work going on.
A new tour group arrives every day at around 16:00, they were quite loud up to late at night. They were also up early in the morning at 06:00 and again were loud. When I asked the hotel what time they expect guests to be quiet from and to, I was told between 23:00 and 05:30. On two out of the three nights we had to speak to other guests at 23:00 to ask them to be quite. We then wore ear plugs to try not to be woken up in the morning.
On our last night there was a party taking place at a locals house which was playing music very loud past 23:00. When I reported this to the hotel they said it was a private party and would be going on for some time. It resulted in me going to the house to have some words to ask them to turn the volume down and be respectful for the people sleeping.

Resort is not being maintained, the pool was dirty with mosquitoes on the water, I would never swim in it. No fresh filtration running, stagnant water around the resort. The room was ok, great views with awesome balcony. Room door had a big gap, I had to seal with towels so that mozzies didn’t fly in at night, only 1 got in. Air con was great, room otherwise was in great condition. Quite a distance to town, easy bicycle ride, the free mountain bike they lent me was in shocking condition but at least it got me to town and back. I thought there were free shuttles but due to the limited English spoken I couldn’t work that out. I thought breakfast was included, when I turned up at 0815 almost everything was finished, when I asked they said “it’s finished”. Apparently it wasn’t included but they said I didn’t have to pay, I only had an awful coffee one small baguette with jam and some fruit. If they sort out some maintenance issues this could be a stunning resort like maybe it once was.

Hotel staff good and facilities okay. 5 minute walk to the centre. Just be mindful there is a lot of dust on the roads from building works around the area

This is a nice resort although could do with some improvements considering it is quite a costly hotel compared to others in Vang Vieng... nothing bad but little details ... like better choice of pillows (very bulky so good to provide and flat ones too), more prompt action when water suddenly did not work at all, more options for breakfast, bicycles should be free for guests given the distance from town centre ... the resort is nice and room spacious and clean but the above suggestions would be an improvement. Also I would make pressure to the nearby karaoke to stop playing music / singing early! Struggled to sleep with their untalented guests...
