This hotel is unsuitable for family. Open concept and layout is inconvenient for comfort stay with limited storage areas. Room is too dim.
Staff are inflexible and rigid.

What a wonderful hotel! So peaceful and relaxing with amazing rooms. The location is also wonderful as you are right in the middle of the action of the Hongdae district. The staff were very helpful and kind and breakfast was absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for luxury that's affordable and easily commutable for those looking for a walkable city break.

This hotel has great style and is located right in the heart of Hongdae. Lots of energy, markets, and authentic Korean character.

The hotel was conveniently located within short walking distance from the bus stop. It is right by many delicious restaurants and coffee shops. Staff was friendly and check in was very simple and easy. The room was quite large. There was a little dust on the window blinds but it was manageable. The shower was nice and hot. The bath was deep but not long enough for those who are 175cm or taller.
The air con is right above the bath so make sure to push up the vent so it does not give you a cold during your bath. Bath takes about 25 minutes to fill up just using hot water, if both faucets then maybe 18 mins.
It is a good time for solo or couples. The hotel was nice and quite, you cannot hear the nightlife which is nice.
We stayed 2 nights which was enough to do a lot of shopping and eating. I would recommend for short stay. Longer stay, you will need to buy amenities kit which is for sale in lobby front desk.

The location of the hotel is good!
There are many restaurants and shops near the hotel. Staff were helpful and willing to help out as well. My only issue was the cleanliness of the room. I dont think housekeeping checked the walls or surfaces of furnitures. There were dried boogers, tape, and acne patches on the walls near the bed and also in the bathroom when we checked in. Some of the towels we received were in poor quality as well, some had holes and stains on them. I expected a bit more from a boutique hotel but overall, it was in a good area.

There's no early check in nor early check out. Instead they offer KRW 10,000 per hour so if you are trying to check in at 2pm, you need to pay KRW 10,000. If 1pm KRW 20,000 so on. More like a motel trying be a hotel.

The location of 9 Brick Hotel is amazing. It’s walking distance from many places in Hongdae. We made plans to see other parts of town but ended up trying restaurants and shopping just because of convenience of location. The staff was friendly and spoke enough English to get us by, which is great they learned to help their guests navigate. The room was spacious, we had a great tub we used when we woke up too early. I would stay here again.

Love my penthouse. The price is reasonable for the space of area I am getting. Location is great. I have already referred friends to get the same room.

The hotel is nice and clean, staff really helpful, close to subway station, but the most important feature is the location. Hongdae is a very vibrant neighbourhood with plenty restaurants and places to shop. It is the best place to stay while in Seoul.

Nice boutique hotel. Washroom was a very good size and room was large. The lighting was too dim and there were no outlets by the bed.

Very luxurious hotel with a dark and cosy vibe. The room was spacious with separate toilet from the shower so it wasn’t one wet room. There was as also a bathtub. Very convenient location close to shops, restaurants, and bars. They gladly minded our luggage after we checked out. Only minor critique is some of the staff seemed a little cold.

Convenient location for shopping and food. Room was pretty spacious and quiet. Limited breakfast choices though.

This was our second time staying in this hotel. The first time we really liked it, but this time we stayed in the penthouse with three people and it was a bit of a mess. We paid about $125 USD for an extra person and extra bed, which was okay, but the extra bed was barely a comforter on the floor. When we asked for an another sheet or blanket to make it thicker they refused. Then we realized the blanket was dirty and they wouldn’t send another one without inspecting the old one and taking it away. We were in this hotel for about 5 days and we asked to change the sheet on the floor mat (since we were rotating floor sleeping) and they gave us such a hard time. Despite being honest and paying for the extra person, it seemed like they wanted to constantly make sure we didn’t use even a single extra item for another person. It was a bit excessive in my opinion. While I would stay here again, I would only do it with two people. Three people is too many for this hotel even in the penthouse.

Excellent hotel, very central to main Hongdae area and less than 5 minutes to walk to both Hongik University or Hapjeong subway stations.
The room was absolutely perfect, staff were friendly and the location was great, really nice view over Hongdae too.
Will stay again during our next trip!

Overall everything was great, no problems at all. But for my own preference, I would had preferred better lighting in the room and for the tv to actually work.

Great location! But that’s it.
The hotel smelled of superglue from the lobby, hallway, elevator and the smell get into the room as well. We had bad headaches from it.
The bathtub leaks and flood the room so we couldn’t use it at all.
They only have paper cups in the room. We asked for plastic or glass or ceramic but was told those are not available. This is very non-environmentally friendly.

The hotel needs maintenance. And they need to deep clean. The room itself was dusty everytime even after the room was “cleaned” the saving grace is the location
