I highly recommend this home for your stay. Very clean and just as pictured, also in a safe neighborhood. Also very close to many things. If you need anything, Ms. Deborah was there to provide assistance. Again, highly recommend.

I was very satisfied with my stay at Island Getaway. The apartment was just as pictured and had all the amenities we needed. It was clean and well maintained. Deborah was available whenever we needed and she checked on us too. She suggested places and things to do in Jamaica so that my kids and I would have an enjoyable and rich experience. She was in tune with my families needs and interest and was very hands on, which I appreciated. The area was safe, quiet and close to stores and entertainment. It is a great choice for anyone who wants to feel at home while on vacation.

The condo was great. Nice kitchen, nice place to eat. Good shower, air conditioning. Very clean. Good value. Deborah and Sarah were very attentive to our needs. Could use shampoo and conditioner. Coffee filters. Kingston was a bit rougher than I had hoped. You can pick and choose where to visit but you have to go through rough parts of town to get there. We LOVED the National Gallery of Jamaica. Also downtown is a little known synagogue. Very interesting. Visited Port Royal and Fort Charles. Jamaica has a fascinating history. Excellent tour guide, Andrew Gordon. Nearby in Port Royal we ate a wonderful curried snapper lunch at Gloria's. Don't miss it. Get there early and eat on the porch upstairs. Devon House meal was terrific. Curried goat! And the ice cream is famous (and expensive). Our favorite was Redbones Blues Cafe. Ate there two nights of four! Unfortunately it is closing (end of May 2018) and opening a hotel not far away which I expect will be excellent. The proprietor is Enola Williams, a very sharp, smart, enjoyable host. Her father is the architect of the new hotel which will have a bar and restaurant on the roof top I believe. Island Getaway was pretty centrally located in a nice part of town. You really need to rent a car to get around and have someone who's comfortable driving on the left side of the road. It's a bit worse than driving in Boston! But we made it around without incident ... except ... the youngsters in Trench town (a rough part of downtown) set a trap. Removed a steel plate in the street covering a large pot hole. We fell into it. The body of the car fell flat on the pavement and the wheel could only spin! But to the rescue come the boys who picked up the car and got it back on the road. For only $4 we were up and running. Why were we there? Looking for Fleet Street where we were told were great murals. Never found it. But from the pictures it looks fabulous. The people of Jamaica are wonderful!! Friendly and helpful. But it generally is a very poor country and many of the people are often hungry. I commented about a "skinny skinny cat". The response was, "You feed your cats palace food". A tellingly political comment. If you're looking for adventure, Kingston can be great. And Island Getaway we can recommend highly. For the beach we moved on to Bluefields (SW coast) where rural life is more stable, bucolic, and the people even more wonderful. Less commercial than Negril.

Is not an ideal place for a business trip since it is an apartment with no restaurants at walking distance. Be prepare for an additional charge of US$110 cash for cleaning and management charge. You need to call to arrange someone to meet you at the place as you arrive and as you leave (is not a hotel). The place is nice but is not a hotel.

If you are thinking about staying here, don’t think about it too much JUST BOOK! It has absolutely everything you possibly need. Nearby to good restaurants, clubs, supermarkets, gas stations etc. Debbie and Kevin are such a great host... she has a lot of patience to explain everything you need to know, she answers quickly whenever you email the property and also she will help you find places to visit if you don’t have an idea of what you want to do while you are in Kingston. My staying at this place was the best decision I made, I would definitely go back again. This one gets a well deserve 5/5.
