I booked a (expensive) king room expecting a comfortable and safe experience at the Wick. Instead, I was assigned a room in the basement with no windows, which was dark, claustrophobic, and was entirely opposite of what was advertised. When I requested a room change, I was told only other windowless rooms were available. The front desk staff sympathized, but could only hand me a manager’s business card and suggested I “email to complain”.
Feeling cornered, I left the hotel in search of alternative accommodations, but by that time (6:30 p.m. on a Saturday), every hotel within a 30-mile radius was fully booked. When I returned an hour later, the best they could offer was a basement room with a partial window, which still left half the room below ground level. I had no other option but to stay.
This experience completely ruined my evening and made me miss my dinner reservation when should have been relaxing on vacation. They owe me a refund and an apology -- no one should be thrown into a dark dungeon of a room when they paid for a clean, brightly advertised room. It was a total bait and switch.
For anyone considering a stay here, beware. They apparently have MANY windowless rooms(!!) If you value a comfortable, safe, and enjoyable hotel experience, the Wick will probably take your money and throw you into a concrete box the same they did to me.

Quirky redo of old candle factory, so located on dead end streetin former industrial area. Inside was nicely refurbished and beds were comfortable. Small cafe in building so you could get breakfast if wanted. Staff was friendly.
4.3
The Wick was a good choice. Close to the train station. I had a really relaxing time. A very nice group og young people on staff.
4.3
Clean and gorgeous
4.3
Great customer service by the staff. The location is not far from the action but the stairwell that leads into downtown (Warren Street area) is temporarily under reconstruction as are some of the building surrounding The Wick. The views are nothing to speak of from the hotel rooms (mostly parking lots surrounding the building) but The Wick is tastefully appointed and well maintained. There's a bar on site that stays open until 11p and breakfast can be purchased if you don't want to go off property. Very convenient (walking distance) to the Amtrak train depot!
4.3
The Wick was a nice property but not in a great location.
4.3
We had the best time staying at The Wick! Walkable to town, easy parking, pet friendly. The room was spacious and clean with comfortable amenities. Will definitely be coming back!

Stay often always wonderful

The hotel was nice and clean, rooms were well cared for

We enjoyed The Wick. Great location, just a bit off the busier streets so it was pretty quiet.. Kitty's at the corner is such a great convenience! Nice sunny rooms and really comfy beds. The glass-topped dining area was comfortable and welcoming (we didn't make it to breakfast but sat there with food or just to hang out). Everyone was really nice, only issue was that it took multiple requests to multiple people to get more hangers (4 requests over 2 days) , a shower chair (4 requests over 3 days), and we never did get another chair in one room despite a request for that on the next to last day (we were a party of three and sometimes wanted to socialize in one room together but there was only one chair per room). It didnt seem super busy but it felt like a bit we were forgotten as soon as we were out of sight. Still, everything was well set up and well organized so we weren't too inconvenienced.

Beautiful inside. Has history, and is just charming in every way
4.3
Great place to stay. You won't be disappointed. Friendly and helpful staff.
4.3
The staff was wonderful! Every person we encountered was friendly and helpful all the way to the general manager. The room was lovely, elegant and quiet. We stayed there to catch the train back to Penn Station and it was perfect. The hotel is an old candle factory, hence the name “The Wick” and the decor pays homage to that fact. If you are looking for a quiet, lovely hotel this is the place. Others have mentioned the lack of a view, but the hotel itself makes up for that!
4.3
I had very low expectations for this stay and the hotel. However, I was blown away by the amazing features of the hotel. Everybody was above friendly and helpful, and the rooms, the restaurant, and the bar were top-notch. The food was so unexpectedly superb; a hidden gem of a place!
4.3
Very nice basic hotel. Room was very large. Staff very friendly.
4.3
Beautiful hotel, great room, but the surrounding area is unattractive. Industrial area and parking lots.
4.3
Place was very clean and staff was very friendly

Great hidden treasure in Hudson NY. Highly recommended.

This was our 2nd stay at The Wick. Very clean & exceptional customer service. Allie was our favorite! Will be back again when visiting our son & his new brewery, Return Brewing.
4.3
Newish hotel - staff polite - rooms fine but hotel lacked a vibe.
4.3
Very nice place. Good stay
4.3
I would never stay again solely because you take a chance of spending $400 for one night in a hotel to end up in a basement room with no light (which is an overwhelming portion of this hotel’s rooms).
4.3
Because it is near the railroad and industrial building there really is not view and the room of the 1st floor had trees to cover the parking lot so you really don't get any light.
When we arrived we were informed that the hot water was not working although repairs were being made and when we got back after 6:30 it was on. When we got off the elevator on the 1st floor which is the bottom, stains and mess on the carpet. However, the room itself was nice. The plug on the tub did not work so I had to prop it up with a plastic spoon I had in order to let the water out.
I would recommend more access to plugs on the center table between the beds. And, each bed should have its own light. The coffee area has no separate lighting so in order to see you have to turn on the bright lights which disturbs the other person. They only offered coffee, no tea unless you went upstairs. Overall, I thought the place was nice and the staff was pleasant. I think overall hotel have to start bringing the quality of what they provide in the rooms up to a better standard. It is so minimal that it is annoying. Not even stirrers or plastic spoons to stir you coffee. Only one decaf.

This property is a basic Marriott hotel, not very clean and most annoyingly, posing as a boutique hotel when it clearly is not. Upon arrival, I reminded the front desk that I had called a few days earlier to request to check in only one hour earlier due to an overseas work meeting. Even though the hotel was more than half empty, I was denied this request and instead offered to sit in their "cafe" which is a bunch of booths with noise blaring from all sides. Their pipes were not working, no hot water so the maintenance guys were there to fix it. They decided to sit close to my table even though they could see I had headphones on and was engaged in a quiet private conversation. They proceeded to talk loudly and once they started inexplicably playing their music and I could not hear my work colleague, I gently asked them to keep it down since I was on a call with work. At that point, one of them stood up and told me to "go to my room a__hole." The added benefit of staying at this filthy dump-verbal assualt. When I reported this to the manager they offered their business lounge upstairs which was caked with dust and dirt. But at least I wasn't verbally harassed up there. Management never followed up with me regarding my complaint. And even though I emailed months earlier several times about the room, a request for a quiet location on a high floor, I was given the room next to the lobby where staff come in day and night and where my view was of a creepy parking lot.

Very nice hotel. Friendly staff. Bobby was informative and makes a nice drink.

Bobby at the front desk was the best!

Great spot , a short walk to Warren St. This hotel is newer and in excellent condition. Though it has some of the original elements from the historic building, it has been renovated with a modern look and feel. The only downside is that decor is little cold , lacking the coziness that would make this a better stay for a winter getaway. That being said, the service was lovely and it was an overall good value. We will be back.
4.3
This is a neat renovation of an old candle factory. Two healthy blocks from Warren/main st & the architecturely interesting town of Hudson Can input own streaming services. Fits in this upscaling town.
4.3
I've been to a lot of hotels all around the world and most of the time they all look the same. This one is pretty unique, with its own character, from walking distance to the main streets. Would definitely go back!
4.3
The hotel is great: clean, modern, well appointed, and with a nice restaurant and bar. The only downside is that it is in a rundown industrial area a few blocks from the main commercial district. I don’t think it is unsafe, but my wife says that if she were traveling alone, she wouldn’t step outside at night.
4.3
When we arrived, the hotel was not as it seemed in the web page photos. The location of the hotel was in a less desirable area. The front of the hotel faces the back yards of a rundown neighborhood. The narrow street leading to the hotel was not maintained and the sidewalks were in bad shape. We parked in front of the hotel on the street. I went in and asked where I could park? I was told in the gravel parking lot only holding 6 cars or in the street which was shared by the neighborhood. If those spaces were full, you can park down behind the hotel. We drove on a narrow street down a hill which was not maintained around the hotel to see the parking area. The back of the hotel faced and was close to a rundown warehouse industrial area. We did not see an entrance to the back of the hotel. I was looking for ADA parking and there was none. As both my wife and son could not walk several hundred feet up around the hotel on non-maintained roads to get to the front entrance. Also, there were no designated ADA parking spaces marked or available in front of the building. I went back in and asked for a refund totaling $1,300 and was told no. I will never stay at any hotels associated with this chain. Poor customer service, along being in a depressed industrial area along with unmaintained surroundings.
4.3
The picture used makes the hotel appear very nice. However, that was far from the posting of the picture. The hotel was smack dab in a rundown neighborhood and industrial area. The street getting in was narrow with bad pavement the sidewalk leading in was broken up and full of hazards. Parking was street parking competing with the neighborhood. There was a small gravel lot holding 5 cars Infront of the hotel. I was told you can park down in back of the hotel. The road to the parking was badly in need of repair. There was no entrance I could find when parking in back to enter the hotel. It appeared you need to walk up a hill on a bad road which was badly broken up also it would have been a long walk. I needed handy cap parking which there was none at all and no spaces assigned in accordance federal law. The back view of the hotel was a rundown industrial warehouse complex. I went in and asked for my money back and was told they would not refund it. The staff was not helpful at all.
4.3
Enjoyed this property during my first trip to Hudson. Property was clean, staff friendly and location decent. Overall, satisfied with all elements of the hotel and would stay again if back in the area. Not rating it higher based on comparison to other hotels I have stayed at globally.
4.3
Quaint boutique hotel 5 minute walk from train station. Attentive staff, clean rating good. You can walk into the town center although we would suggest you drive
4.3
Would have liked more bell service. Did not offer to help with our bags and we had a lot
4.3
Boutique Hotel with good dining options in the restaurant. Pleasant and helpful staff. Clean and well designed rooms.
4.3
Nice old facility
4.3
Great location close to center of activities. Room was very comfortable. Would stay again in future trip.
4.3
My bed had blood stain sheets and pillow case. No need to say more, beware this place is gross
4.3
The room didn’t have a trash can or a TV remote. The view from the restaurant & bar is of an ugly parking lot and abandoned warehouse. There was a guy hanging out behind the front desk, seems he may be a security guard or driver of the hotel car. He was unprofessional and low-class. Cheap candles burning at entry was unpleasant to smell.
