Room was clean but the shower had mold other than that it was good.

Great location just a 10 minute walk to the Zocolo, a couple of blocks from Benito Juarez and 20 de Noviembre markets. Great freshly made breakfast daily, very tasty. Staff are all outstanding—incredibly friendly and helpful.

It is a nice hotel
4.5
At first it looked like a bad hotel but it ended up been just fine.
4.5
AC didn’t work and room is real small.

The staff at Real Alma was very friendly and helpful during my 8 night stay. They kept the room clean, provided plenty of clean sheets and towels. I enjoyed my stay enough to extend it by three nights! It's a little walk to many of Oaxaca's sites, restaurants, squares, markets, etc. Overall great experience!
4.5
Wish it had a swimming pool, loungers on the terrace.
4.5
Located within walking distance of the Zocalo and the two large touristy Mercados. The staff is friendly and pleasant.
4.5
The restaurant and front desk staff were so friendly and helpful. We loved the rooftop terrace to hangout in the evening.
The location is vibrant and central. Easy walking distance to zocalo and several mercados.
It doesn’t have an elevator, which was fine for us, but may be a concern for others.
4.5
Close to Socalo restaurants and Mercados

The Hotel was too big. We have to be transported by cars to get where we want. It was dificult to go quickly to your room if you needed something. Would be better if at least they had electric cars.
The room was nice and the food was good. We liked the different dining restaurants.
4.5
Front Desk personnel was very attentive and helpful.
4.5
It was at the lower end of price, but certainly adequate for a short stay.
A bit noisy on the street side, but quiet enough when the balcony door is closed.
Bed was comfortable, room clean, bathroom good.
No elevator, so if you don’t do stairs, go elsewhere, especially when breakfast is on the top floor.
Breakfast is ok….coffee a bit weak, fruit good, but got a tad boring after 5 days.
Service was great….front desk and breakfast staff.
Great location….walkable to everything in the city.
4.5
The staff was amazing, and breakfast was fantastic. Our only comment would be that the bathrooms are tiny.
4.5
Front desk staff was great- didn’t get young ladies name- Nash?? She helped a lot with recommendations and transportation. Hotel was pretty clean. Love the Rain shower.
4.5
Do not fall for their FALSE ADVERTISING of soundproof rooms and don’t expect customer service. Front desk lies with a smile. Poor customer service is top down and they are proud of it.

Best staff ever

The hotel is surrounded by street vendors and locals during daytime, 1 block from big market. No elevator , and loud noise at night time (our first night there) due to construcción in front of street.
Pros are, just 4 blocks from the zocalo, and the nicest part of town. The hotel itself is clean, simple, has a nice rooftop terrace where breakfast is served, and at night it has a gorgeous view of the city, and it’s personnel are so very kind and helpful.
4.5
Reasonably clean and near the center of the commercial district with markets nearby, and the town Square and a few museums, but really only deserving. It’s two star rating.
Small, basic breakfast to start the day, very weak coffee, but nice friendly staff.
Our rooms faced a very loud commercial strip, which wasn’t a problem until they decided to refill their water tanks at midnight on a Saturday night. Almost 2 hours with a very loud diesel pump that had to be 70 or 80 dB for what I’ve been sleep. The front desk kept saying five more minutes until the truck left after 1 AM. Lots of other choices. I would not recommend this.

What I love the most about this property was the proximity to the cathedral and the center of Oaxaca.
The breakfast in the morning was also really good and the staff was always friendly and helpful.
4.5
The bathrooms really need upgrades. Sink kind of broken, shower heads not working well. Pillows really old.
Staff were very nice and accommodating.
4.5
Everyone in the hotel was helpful. It's all new with a colonial decor and near the markets and zocalo.
4.5
Great place to stay safe and is 5 minutes from everything. Love it
4.5
Great and clean hotel. The area is not the greatest but it’s a short walk to the centre.
4.5
This place is very noisy, the place it is located is ugly, plain of informal commerce. The food is limited.
I do not recommended this hotel

Hotel Real Alma is just 5-6 blocks to the center of Oaxaca that offers great shopping and a wide selection of restaurants. There's also a number of local street food sites nearby. This is a great choice if you want to be in the heart of the city.
4.5
Despite being in a busy part of the city, the room was very quiet (soundproofing). We were on the 4th floor and there is no elevator but that did not affect us. The morning complimentary breakfast is OK. The service and front desk help was amazing. We could flush the toilet paper! Fantastic location close to the mercados but a bit annoying with all the maneuvering around the street vendors.
4.5
The reception staff was amazing, they wait for us to check is in, and suggest a nearby pla e ro have dinner. Erastemo was incredibly helpful super nice and friendly. He really is the heart of the hotel, always attentive and great host. Thank you Erastemo.

Employees were helpful and courteous, had clean rooms. Breakfast was not all the great but gas eatable. Downtown was close from the hotel and shopping was near by. I’ll go back again to Alma Real.
4.5
Rooms are small but overall great experience. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Street was busy and noisy but we didn’t mind. We would stay here again.
4.5
Great hotel, with great staff, very clean.
4.5
Staff was helpful and friendly. They helped with tours that picked/dropped us up from the hotel. Our room was on the ground floor near the lobby #2 and it was a bit noisy in the early mornings. Overall the hotel was great.
Pros: walking distance to el zocalo, restaurants, bars and the mercados.
Cons: hotel located in the side of town that begins the "questionable" side of town (never felt unsafe), not until my last night did i realize that 3 blocks away from the hotel is the "red light" (ladies of the night) zone. I walked from the zocalo to my hotel around 1am and never felt unsafe.
Overall it was a good stay.
4.5
Zero common sense to treat guests for an early check in .
Very dirty, crowded and potential dangerous area of the city. Terrible location.
4.5
Staff was very friendly except for two ladies. Hotel is reasonably comfortable and breakfast is OK. The only inconvenience was that they offer that one can use a computer in the hotel facilities, which turned out not to be possible.
4.5
Short Walking distance from Benito Juárez and 20 de noviembre markets. Great service, specially Gabriel. They helped me to get taxis, tours and give ideas about what places to visit and how to get there.
4.5
Reception staff was nice but the employees serving at the breakfast buffet weren’t as helpful. They never had enough food for the complimentary breakfast and wouldn’t replenish the egg, fruit or anything even when you asked.
4.5
This was one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The food was really good, the service was EXCELLENT and it was super convenient because it’s super close to the centro! 10/10 recommend

What a wonderful hotel! A soothing oasis in a busy part of Oaxaca. Room was clean and spacious and quiet, with great a/c. The rooftop terrace is beautiful, and the very kind woman cooked me a delicious breakfast. The desk staff truly were outstanding—-kind and caring. Wish there had been instructions for using the safe box, and I told the desk on checkout, but was there only one night so not a real problem.
Many tourists might be put off by walking the streets near the markets to get the hotel, but I know the centro and wasn’t bothered a bit. I encourage people to stay here; much better than a rather disappointing hotel in Jalatlaco I recently visited—-for a much heftier price!
4.5
Nice comfortable place to stay. Clean room & very friendly staff!

The room is nice and clean, the property is within walking distance of the town square, definitely recommend staying here.
