Clean, simple, friendly staff if you engage.

Horrible staff entered room when not there and went thru luggage and took medication. Went to check out and wouldn't give refund had to call police to get money back. Don't go there !!!!

Super great area, the hotel is an older facility, the rooms were clean and somewhat outdated, but everything else is in need of an upgrade. It looks like they are in the middle of doing that, there were workers about. But if they continue and update its a gem of a spot.We booked because it also has breakfast, but we were disappointed when checking in the sign said only Saturday and Sunday, That was disappointing.

Despite having a mostly pleasant experience here in the past, I almost didn’t go back to this hotel this year. I spent months trying to get my deposit back from our last stay and could not get a response. Upon checking in yesterday, I mentioned this to the girl at the desk and she immediately went in and issued a refund to both my mother and me. I was tired from driving and probably a little rude, but she was very pleasant and made our experience a nice one. We will be back. Just a heads up though, they do not have coffee makers in the room, so you’ll have to go next door to McDonald’s for your morning coffee.

Not sure how I missed that this was a MOTEL, of course the photos online showed mostly the interior of the rooms (which seemed ok). When we checked in (4pm) on a Saturday, no one was to be found at the front desk (when I worked hotel front desk, I had to remain there at ALL times). We rang the bell, we called the number, still no one. Finally, I went up the stairs to what appeared to be an office and knocked on the door; a guy with no shoes answered and seemed surprised I was there. I told him we were trying to check in.
So, we check in and there are old school keys, we ended up staying in their weird suite off to the side but at least it was more private. But there was an outer door and an inner door. Now, I’m a real estate agent, I’m no stranger to difficult and complicated door mechanisms. But both of us struggled to get it opened, but the inner door at least wasn’t as difficult. There was also a back door, and outside there was a bunch of trash.
My fiancé kept his gun by the bed. We didn’t leave anything of value in the car.
There was a fridge and microwave but the TV was kind of messed up (still watchable but weird). Bed was ok, bathroom was bright, but small, at least there was a random dining table off to the side where we could put stuff. The breakfast options were ok, standard. When I came back to the room, I realized that outer door locked behind me (when I specifically tried not to lock it because I didn’t want to wake him up when I went to grab us breakfast

2 abandoned cars in the parking lot. Obviously residents are not guests sitting outside smoking and listening to their music at night. One of the motel refrigerator sitting in the lawn. Breakfast was basic minimum. However the front desk/staff personnel very nice.

The room was fairly nice, though the walls had many visible dents and scuffs. There were only two bath towels in the bathroom and the staff couldn't provide any face cloths or hand towels unless we wanted to wait until later in the evening. My main concern though was that even though we prepaid on Hotels.com, they said we underpaid and they charged us an extra $72.

The hotel is great as far as location. The female staff are absolutely RUDE! They went in my room moving items to get a chair they wanted in which I was not happy about. 3. Hours after check in they called me accusing me of taking all their linens in which I took nothing of theirs! The women proceeded to get extremely disrespectful telling me I am no longer welcome there and called me back to back over 10 times just to be funny! I was going to book immediately for a trip in 2025 I will never step foot here again!

It was a decent stay there were a couple things
1 the bed were hard.
2 not enough pillows.
3 spiders galore.
4 The cleaning staff used the same mop water to mop all the rooms.
5 the staff was hardly ever in the office if u needed anything
6 water pressure in the shower sucked
7 pics are not up to date. Not as nice as pictures depicted
8 stains on the blanket. Kind of looked like blood.
But, since i didnt want to waste 400+ dollars and find another place we stayed

Great location!

Had water all over the floor from them defrosting the little fridge and when told them about it they brought towels to clean up the water and left on sitting in front of fridge and said they would come back to get it when it was done defrosting. Had two broke down wrecked cars taking up parking spaces in front of the rooms my family was staying in.
Also prior persons left belongs and was still in the room, which tells me that the room wasn’t properly cleaned. Very disappointed with the condition of this hotel.

We stayed 3 night/4 days here and for the location of sites to see and surrounding shopping areas/restaurants it was absolutely great for the overall price we payed! It was lacking in housekeeping and only came when we were checking out which wasnt a huge "no" for me but wouldve boosted my score. The man at the front desk and the housekeeper we saw were very friendly and smiling. The pool and outside of the hotel were kept clean. I would definitely be staying here again in the future!

We chose this hotel because it was advertised as being close to the lake. We arrived, but it was not close to the water. We had to keep ringing the bell as there was no help checking in. The lady came downstairs in her bare feet and quickly checked us in. We drove to our room and parked in front of it. On both sides, there were broken-down cars. We were only there for a short time and left at 7 am. Again, we were told there would be coffee. The doors were locked and we had to slide our key under the door.

We stayed due to the false advertising, they show nice pictures of gazebo, clean rooms and suitable pool for swimming, but this was all a lie, for the pictures were taken 60 years ago. During the night, if I wasn't awaken by unnerving sounds, the power getting cut off(only place in Erie)-probably didn't pay bill, woke me up, I thought I would take a shower, because this is the main reason for getting a hotel and not camping in Erie. To my naive surprise, the water had been cut also and that was the last straw. The owner/family living in the upstairs lobby was aware of power and water and offered no assistance but saying "hopefully it is on later today or tomorrow". I will never and I hope you don't ever stay here. I saved you the time, trouble and money.

So when Check in, I was supposed to have five rooms All with two queen beds Put two of them had full bed, my room The toilet was not even bolted to the floor I said something twice and nobody would fix it.When we got there, there was no shower.Burton's toilet paper rolls empty Would not recommend staying there

It appeared that the owners were in the process of upgrading the property. I'm sure in the next year, it should be close to complete.

The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. It’s an older motel and the doors to the rooms are from the outside , but the price for staying at the motel was most reasonable. As a solo traveler the room fitted my needs. Most likely would stay there again with my next visit.

The pool was great and clean. The location of the property was perfect for us as we were fishing alot.

No staff when you needed them

What a sham. I wanted to shorten my stay and they refused to refund my money for the days I wanted to delete from the reservation. There were also problems with the room such as no towels, shower curtain too short to prevent water from going out onto the floor, limited breakfast, limited access to the ice machine, etc. Will never recommend this motel.

Super dirty... even the walls were filthy. Lights in the room didn't work. Overall just a really gross place.

Rooms were pretty spacious. Not sure it was worth $134/night

It was very dirty there was dead bugs all over room including on bed and bed frames, everything was dusty and bathroom wasn’t very clean not many towels, the toilet paper was empty, the door gap was a big no for me and the buckles broken down in parking spots giving to customers was a no for me. The staff toke forever to answer there ball I had waited 15 mins to even check in by having to call them. Also they need to change the number on google cause that’s wrong one. I wouldn’t ever stay there again low price was understatement even the floor frame was hanging off and walks were chipping off and could really use some updates… I would rate that a 2 outta 10

A very nice friendly place to stay. Clean and efficient. I would highly recommend to family and friends.

Older room with paint chipped on the walls. Noisy HVAC unit.

Good place to stay when visiting Presque State Park. Can't beat the location and proximity to the park! Walls are a little thin so you can hear alot of noise from the outside but reasonable and expected considering the design and layout of the buildings.

I can tell that an effort is being made to update the property. However, the bed sheets were stained on one of the beds making me glad a second was available. There were cobwebs everywhere, and althought the rooms have probably been painted somewhat recently, there are many many areas that need to be touched up. The curtains in the very large window that faces the parking lot would not close. This led not only to a lack of privacy but also allowed light into the room at night. Additionally, the pool is not really usable. The bottom is not visible and debris floating on the surface is suspect. Lastly, the battery on my room key entry mechanism died causing me to be locked out of my room at 6:30 in the morning. I had to call a number on the office door and it took a long time for a response to my dilemma. The location for this motel will make it a wonderful success if things can be cleaned up a little better. It is close to many attractions.

Lake Erie Lodge is an old, reconditioned motor inn. The only thing it has going for it is its close proximity to Presque Island State Park. The room was clean, the furniture cheap and worn. No chairs at the seat or table, no hangers and towels thin and like sandpaper. The price at the property is higher than Expedia after they add on service fee for using a credit card, which they require you use for the deposit. It was the only reasonable option during the eclipse, otherwise would not stay there.

No one was at front desk when we got there and when we checked out -did not have enough toilet paper in the room

This is the first time I have felt cheated with purchase through Hotels.com. We arrived early morning and checked on the availability of a room for another friend and found a room for half the price. My room was not very nice. Curtains were poorly hung. You could not block out outside lights or outsider’s viewing in. Refrigerator was unplugged. TV remote did not work. There were un painted plaster patches on wall at door. Hall light to bathroom did not work. I have to say the hot water worked. If this happens again I will use a different service to find hotels.

First, the pluses: Erie is an easy city to get around and the Lodge is well situated. Reasonable price. Clean. Comfortable bed.
Minuses: When I arrived circa 8pm to check in, the room wasn't ready (previous occupant had checked out late). When I did check in and was putting my stuff away, I found one piece of clothing and several books (including a Narcotics Anonymous manual) of a
the previous tenant. There was no place to hang my clothers. Next day: no coffeemaker in the room, walked to the local McDonald's came back and the card key didn't work. No one in the office (no coffee in the lobby --- my experience is if there is no inroom coffeemaker, there is some in the lobby.) A sign said to call: my phone was in my room. The people who run the place are very pleasant and seem genuinely nice but not terribly competent at running a motel.

No one was at the desk. It took several calls to be able to check in. There was only 1dirty towel in the room took 2 requests to get towels. The curtain facing the parking lot would not close. Requested repair.
