The moment you enter the hotel you can feel the different from other hotel in the city. The decorations is nice, staffs were very friendly and breakfast was very good but it is not bright enough (light staying in a cave).
There was a communication breakdown between the hotel and Hotel.com because I had to pay 74 Tunisian diner for breakfast (hotel.com please check n reply to me). I had chosen with breakfast when I picked the hotel. I managed to see the “with breakfast” on manage your booking after I had left the hotel.

A very enjoyable stay.
The suite was one of the best rooms we have experienced anywhere. It was large comfortable and very clean and well maintained during our stay.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location was good easy walk to the centre and the cathedral and close to the Medina and all it's history.

We arrived for our honeymoon and Dar el Jeld did not disappoint. We were absolutely blown away by the staff and the ambiance the scents and the beauty. The spa was fantastic the ladies were excellent! If you only come to Tunis for this 5 star experience it is well worth it! We totally fell in love with the experience.

While visiting France for the Olympics, we had a couple of days without games, so we decided to take a short flight from Marseille to Tunis for a night. We stayed at the Dar el Jeld Hôtel & Spa, and I can confidently say it was one of the nicest hotels I’ve ever experienced. We booked a suite, which was spacious and immaculately clean. The hotel's location is convenient, with many restaurants within walking distance. The staff was extremely accommodating and hospitable. If you’re planning a trip to Tunis, I highly recommend staying here.

An exceptional hotel experience. The room impressed us with its spaciousness, cleanliness, and exceptional comfort. The hotel itself boasts a stunning architecture, complemented by a lobby area replete with ample seating, perfect for relaxation. A word of advice: the massage services, highly popular even during off-peak seasons, are best booked in advance to ensure availability.

Lovely hotel! Right at the heart of the Medina. Extremely spacious rooms. Super helpful staff. I didn't check out the restaurant for dinner. The breakfast was ok, nothing special. All in all a wonderful location and outstanding hotel

We stayed 2 nights at the hotel, and had been looking forward to a great experience. The hotel had a great location, next to the Medina and was 5 star, with many good reviews. The hotel is a hotels.com VIP hotel.
All the above sounds great on writing, but only the location is true.
As VIP hotel we expected a much better hotel. The hotel has 16 rooms, and is in an old jail. The room we got, which was not possible to change - also felt like a jail. It was in basement floor, and some of the only light getting into the room, was through the small holes in the windows, directly out to a street. Everytime a car drove by, it felt like driving into the room. The bathroom was not probably cleaned, with dust and small leftovers from people staying in the room before.
In the closet, someone had forgotten a shirt - and cleaning had not noticed.
There was a lack of general information about what to expect, so around 8pm suddenly someone locked themself into the room while we was resting. That was very uncomfortable. We didn’t expect anyone coming into the room, same day as arriving.
There was so many small things, that just made the stay, very uncomfortable.
Small things like cleaning, airport pickup we never got confirmed and nobody to see at the airport (there was someone, and luckily we had not left the airport when he called), to the rooftop restaurant where, the service was slow and when finally receiving the coffee we ordered it was cold.
I could tell many things more, but no space.

This hotel is probably one of my favourites I’ve ever stayed in. The interior design is just beautiful, stepping inside the hotel was serene with smells of jasmine. A wonderful rooftop with a view of the medina city. Fantastic Hammam and service by the ladies in the spa. Breakfast could have been a little better but otherwise the rooms were absolutely fantastic like mini suites and the small touches made the stay very special!

The area was what we were expecting, the hotel was not it was absolutely beautiful. Facilities amazing staff were great nothing too much trouble, food and excellent, roof top restaurant spectacular setting to view the whole of Tunis. Do not though settle into the comfort of the hotel too much Tunis has so much to offer. Thank you we will be back.

This is an absolute gem of a luxury niche hotel, Fantastic vibe, centrally located in the heart of the medina, super safe and welcoming atmosphere. greeted by the fabulous scent of Neroli and walked into a dreamy suite. Mix of modern art-deco and authentic Tunisian architecture. the breakfast on the patio overlooking the old town is something else! Will definitely be coming back. Big thank you to the staff that made this a memorable stay!

The Dar el Jeld was a beautiful hotel. The room was very large with a separate sitting area and huge bathroom. The roof top restaurant was amazing!

It was amazing and hands down the best stay in Tunisia! The cleaning staff are wonderful and work so hard, the reception staff are okay, not super welcoming and security are friendly. The rooms or mini apartments I should say are just incredible, luxurious and the hotel is an oasis within the Medina. I wasn't fond of the location, it's hard to access and a bit dangerous coming back in the night or looking for restaurants/food because the Medina is dark and a maze. We had breakfast one day as it was not included and we loved the breakfast it was fantastic and the service was amazing. The rooftop views over Tunis are gorgeous.

Lovely, lovely refuge in the middle of the médina. Such a great experience to enter this beautiful, quiet, serene space after spending time in the hectic médina. The suites are amazing. And don’t miss the spa treatments!

The Hotel is so beautiful. A sanctuary in the middle of a chaos of Medina. It is centrally located and the Amenities AA++. The property is beautiful n peaceful. I will definitely come back

Beautiful hotel! Perfect location in the middle of the medina, really spacious rooms and lovely rooftop. We received chocolate and fruit in the room every night which was really nice! Great breakfast! The only thing that was disappointing was the rooftop dinner, it was expensive and not good.
