Very nice hotel and staff trying their best, but management inflexible and arrogant, creating a less than comfortable atmosphere

The staff at the dONNA hotel was extremely kind and helpful. The breakfast buffet was filled with fresh fruit, bread, great coffee, and the staff always asked if we wanted any eggs or cooked items. We are definitely wanting to visit again.

Absolutely fabulous stay - staff couldn’t be more polite and helpful. Location was absolutely spot on for all local amenities. What could be better than a beautiful pool and a white sandy beach- fantastic! Will definitely be going back

I loved my time at dONNA hotel. It was really beautiful by the sea. I would say that it felt a little bit like scruffy around the edges as though maybe it needs some minor renovations to bring it back to how it was when originally constructed (which I don't think was long ago), such as the carpet/tiles in the bedroom were peeling up in some areas. There was a lot of scuffed paint. The beds/pillows were not very comfortable for such an up market hotel I would have expected better. It was quite difficult to get the attention of the staff e.g. by the pool or in the restaurant, but when you did, they were really brilliant and very helpful. They One word of warning...it says on hotels.com that all city view rooms have a balcony/patio, which isn't true. Only ground floor city view rooms have patio. So I told reception that I was expecting a patio/balcony, and she upgraded us to a poolside sea view room with privtlate patio, which was incredible, and I was very grateful. If I had not had this room, I think I would have felt like the hotel was quite expensive. The breakfast was also a bit disappointing, the hot food was tepid. Not a great selection, bad coffee. However when the breakfast buffet went away and lunch/dinner came out, the restaurant really shines. The restaurant menu is absolutely delicious! Great food. And a lovely busy atmosphere all day with hotel guests and outside guests flooding into the restaurant for lunch. Overall a great stay, minor room for improvement.

The hotel is nice and the view from the balcony was amazing. However the room does need some maintenance - water leaking from the shower has damaged the wooden panels and the flooring. On the Friday and Saturday night there was private functions at the hotel Resturant that were very loud and kept us awake.

Just there for one night but loved the room...comfortable, great view, very nice staff. Hope to return someday

Great hotel and staff

Lucation is great, we were on the 1st floor steps away from the pool and beach. The room is fine, but the shower offers ZERO privacy and there's no place to hang a towel so when you walk out, the floor gets wet. Also- no luggage rack nor sustainable practices. All staff were helpful except for 1 person & management was great when we brought it to their attention. Breakfast buffet is sub-par compared to other 4 & 5 star hotels. Location, comfy bed, and cleanliness were the best things about it.

The pictures don’t do this place justice. This was a beautiful property with great amenities. The view is amazing and the pool is perfect. The rooms were very comfortable and the staff was friendly. They were able to get us in our room before checkin which is early already (2:00pm). They have a restaurant on site which is really good. I really think this is the best property in the area.

Unfortunately the hotel seemed to operate on a very low budget. Too bad it location is great on the beach which was the best for my stay.

Nice and quiet location, very walkable everywhere. Poolside was great and relaxing. Room was very clean and enjoyable. 10/10, would stay here again.

Beautiful hotel, great location. I felt the clerk when I checked in did not appreciate my business. I was told when I arrived I would need to wait to check in, “try in an hour or two”. I am a female traveler, my brother arrived 10 minutes later and was checked in immediately.

Very well located in front of the beach. Definitely prefer room with sea view. Room quite big and confortable. Nice shower. Dinner room a bit quiet not incitatîng new hosts to come. Breakfast OK. Not excellent but ok. Parking free on the street in winter time.

This hotel is unique. Everyone at the location was super helpful and friendly the sea room views are a must, and definitely enjoy the patio outside while having a drink or two. Located right on the beach which is a super plus! The hallways are dark but it’s not that bad. We had issues regarding hot water. Not sure if it’s the hotel or our room but it it was barely hot and that was really our only issues the entire time

Nice hotel close to the beach with a nice restaurant with good food. Quite expensive though. The the toilet door jammed. Needed some force to open and close. The cleaning smell was very strong.

Great location near the beach. Breakfast very poor with lots of flies circling around the food. Dirty towels in the room and a bit of a weird setup with the shower in middle of room with damp carpet around it. Ok but would probably stay elsewhere in future

Hotel itself is nice and situation in front of the sea is very good. However, the room was nice and big enough for few days but not very clean in every detail. Sunbeds on the pool side was very dated.

Loved view and location A small fridge would’ve been great to keep waters cold, but otherwise perfect for our needs

Lovely hotel, staff were lovely, room was missing a few things like fridge and chairs but very comfortable and quite. We had a sea view that was perfect.

We had a cancelled flight at the airport and had to scramble to find a hotel for the night. We’re very glad we chose this hotel. It was very nice and the staff was super accommodating. The manager working that afternoon was very helpful and checked us in fast. They have a great view of the sea and we had a lovely dinner at the restaurant.

First, i will start with the pros. The staff were helpful, as soon as i arrived i knew i have chosen the wrong place to stay, it was in the middle of a quiet street and didn't look like anything was happening there. The lady told me to stay 1 night then cancel early so as not to lose money, i agreed. I immediately contacted expedia that i will not be staying at the location more than 1 night. The property is by the beach, you will have beach views, i also heard castedefels is not the best beach, so keep that in mind. It was raining and cold, so staying by the beach was useless to me. CONS: Horrible location, not close to any sight seeing, looks like the people giving this property high reviews are either locals who went there to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city or they were paid to do so. Its a 30 mins Taxi ride to the city center, its 1 hour train/metro/bus ride to the city center. The room was not impressive at all other than the views. The bed was big but subpar, they have this weird shower behind the bed, was odd and dark. After showing the room feels and smells damp, they had no phone in the room so i couldn't call the receptionist. The floors were squeaky, i paid for balcony room, when i went outside briefly the floors were squeaky so i came back inside. Maybe its just American standards i am used to, the is motel 6 standard hotel. I do NOT recommend unless you just want to go somewhere quiet with nothing happening or just want to walk at the beach.

Love this hotel!!! The location is incredible!!! Wake up to a beautiful view right on the beach yet you are only 10 mins from the airport! Tons of great restaurants within walking distance. Rooms are super nice and comfortable!!!
