Old but nice on a budget, I liked it!

Hard to find the hotel. Address is given as River Drive but it's actually on the highway which is not called River Drive. Dingy and run-down. If you want convenience to Rocky Mt. NP this is the place but it's not a very nice place to stay. You are texted a code to access your room which looks like it came out of the 40's. It wasn't dirty but it was outdated. Not at all appealing from the outside.

Sheets on the bed were still damp. Bathroom store difficult to open and close. No a/c abd bedroom window had no screen so I wasnt comfortable opening it. Hot water took forever to get warm and once it dis the shower took on a urine type ammonia smell. The tv didnt work. Needs repairs and updates. Booked for two nights but only stayed one. Wanting a refund on the 2nd night.

This place is so old and worn out. The plugs are loose. Walls are thin, no screen on window, no light in the tiny shower where I bruised my elbows. Bed is hard, pillows too tall. Loud road noise.

Convenient check in.
Dog hair galore and not from our pet.
We have licensed have service animals for disabled person(s)
They charged us extra and we didn’t want the dog to get MORE hair on the rugs it bother with sniffing previous urine from other dogs we rolled up rugs and stowed them away until we left.
We left the room in good shape although hair was everywhere from previous dogs even in the bed as we check for bedbugs.
Luckily found no bedbugs….
Look good ppl. Walls are So thin.
No a/c or fans. Stuffy in the room.
To many plugs on an outlet l. Fire hazard.
Tv had a circle and lines in the screen.
Shower is a mister and dirty shower flor with hair.
Found human hair in the sheet.

No office but staff did respond electronically. No ice. No housekeeping on multi day stay.
3.4
Convenient budget lodging for visiting Rocky Mountain National Park from the west.

Very old and rundown. Tattered towels. No tissues. Needs paint. Torn screens. No chairs. Broken lawn furniture. No onsite assistance.

I booked online at midday and arrived at 10 pm. I did not realize when I booked the room that there was not a front desk to check in to our room. There was a flyer posted on a door next to the en suite stating that a room number and door code should have been sent via text message by 4 pm, and if a message hadn’t been received, to call or text the number on the flyer. I then sent a text (the preferred method of contact according to the flyer) and called, but no one answered. After sitting in the parking lot for half an hour, we decided to cut our losses and drive into Fraser/Winter Park to find lodging for the evening. An hour after the initial text was sent, we received our room and door code. By that point, we had already found another place to stay for the night.

Old, dirty, rundown, and in disrepair! Rug and floors were filthy, bed covers and blankets were dirty and smelly. The shower was old and mildewed. The kitchenette faucet dripped continuously. This dilapidated, dirty mess should be demolished. It’s like something from a slum in a third-world country. I have lost all trust in Expedia. Why are you advertising and booking nasty places like this???

The room was cute (with a unifying theme), check-in was smooth, and it had good wi-fi, a microwave, and a minifridge -- all of which were appreciated. The cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Sink drain needs to be snaked. Bathroom walls were disgusting (with hairs and the build-up of greasy yellow-brown residue) and the sink needed a good wipe-down as well. Very dark in the shower, but that was probably just as well. Wad of hair on the fitted sheet. No air conditioning. It was sweltering. I opened the window to try to get some evening air in, but someone started smoking outside, so I had to close it again. Too hot to sleep. There was a fan placed on the bedside table, but it moved so little air I could barely feel it on my face six inches away. Many midge-like flying insects in the bathroom (coming up out of the sink?). Large crack under door admitted assorted other arthropod visitors. If there was ice available, I did not know where it was or how to avail myself of it. I had to hold the extension cord in an elevated position to get the microwave to work. Wi-fi was excellent.
3.4
Had to carry microwave into bathroom and set on the sink to use. Window screen missing with no A/C.
No security locks of any kind on entry door. A little Mtce and care could turn this rating around.
3.4
Very old poorly maintained motel.
3.4
After reading all the reviews about how dirty it was and no toilet paper and I brought my own cleaning supplies and toilet paper. But it was surprisingly clean.
3.4
It was adequate for us even though it was not updated. Having extra room in the executive suite was the most positive part of our stay.
3.4
The rooms were dirty with stains on walls, gross shower. Tiny trash can in room, no other garbage on site (where to throw dog poop bags away?) it’s right off the main highway so it’s loud from traffic and no where to walk safely from here.
The beds were janky and squeaky. The walls were paper thin, I woke up early every morning because I could hear everyone else around talking, coughing, and closing car doors. There was so banging noises two doors down coming from a utility room. The mini fridge stopped working without me knowing and all the food I brought went bad. No ice machine or hair dryer. It felt like a very expensive camping trip because I felt dirty the whole time.
3.4
Needs much updating... The room was dark with small table lamps and a few sockets missing bulbs. A little love like updating with brighter colors, new shower curtain, etc. would help.
3.4
The room was clean. Coffee pot, no cups. Property REALLY needs to be cleaned up!

Check in was a nightmare. The proprietor was supposed to send us information about our room with a key code in advance. Because I knew we'd have spotty phone coverage with our plan there, I asked SEVERAL TIMES over SEVERAL DAYS for them to e-mail me the information. They never did. I arrived and had no access to my room, in an establishment with no office. Borrowed a phone from two other visitors (had to knock on some doors), and they tried contacting the proprietor on our behalf with no luck either. By a stroke of luck, the property handyman pulled up to do some work (he was terrific, personable, and I'm deserves a commendation), and he was able to contact the owner to get the information. Other guests reported similar issues.
The property is fine. The location is great. The price is superb. Despite that, I will never stay there again-- it's playing roulette with check-in.
3.4
For the price is was ok? Don't expect any services from the establishment.

The Timberline Inn is a budget friendly place to stay. If you’re looking for on site amenities this wouldn’t fit your needs. We were fine with the Inn because it provided a convenient place to sleep while spending most of our time in Grand Lake and Rocky Mountain National Park.
The property appears to be an “old style” motel. It could be made a lot more attractive if the grounds in front and behind the building were cleaned up.
3.4
Timberline Inn is a low cost option. While the bed was hard (not my favorite), the pillows were very good. Small shower but the water pressure and warmth were excellent. When we asked for fresh towels and more soap, e.g., they were provided timely. Small fridge and microwave were convenient. Only a few plates but only one butterknife, no dish soap or dish towels. FYI!
3.4
The separate rooms were really nice and great for privacy.
3.4
Nice and easy location to visit Rocky Mountain National Park from the west. Accommodations were cramped, but all requred items were available. Reasonable cost for teh area nd tehseason.
3.4
The property was run down. Changed rooms due to issues in the bathroom.

I absolutely love the location of the property for visiting multiple places in Grand County. The property overlooks the lake with great views! I sat on the wooden chairs outside and enjoyed my coffee every morning staring out at the lake.
It’s about what I expected from a simple mountain motel. I absolutely loved the layout of the room. We were in number seven and to my surprise it had a bedroom and a main room each with one queen bed. It was perfect for my daughter and I to have some Space or would be great for different parties traveling together. The kitchenette was simple bare bones but adequate. Definitely bring your own Coffee and creamer as that won’t get refilled, We even brought a toaster another utensils. It was really nice to have a full-size sink. The fridge is on the small side, but we made it work.
The furnishings were adequate and I did enjoy the lodge mountain vibe Of the room.
OK, here is my primary complaint, it needs a DEEP clean. Most of my concern is the bathroom in general. A little bit of elbow grease and maybe a new light fixture and mirror combination would do wonders! Maybe a simple piece of art as well. But really it is the shower that was most unpleasant. Definitely needs redone or at least bleached out.
Clean the walls and baseboards!
Clean the ceiling!
Clean the light fixtures!
All that being said, I would probably stay again.
It would be so much better if it had a deep clean! Then I would definitely stay again!!!
3.4
It shows its age, but it is clean, well positioned and peaceful. Overall a great value for money and a good no frill option

I received NO communication prior to my arrival and had no details on my room number or my keyless entry code. I had to call hotels.com (kudos to them!) and have their rep contact the property for the information I needed.
When I checked in, the room smelled like wet dog. There was less than a half-roll of toilet paper, which did not get me through my stay. Luckily I always carry an extra roll with me. The shower curtain was opaque, meaning you are nearly showering in the dark.
The TV worked (meaning I could turn it on), but there were only five local channels and they were all really the same station. If the TV is supposed to have more options, then please have your housekeeper set the TV up so that it works the way it should the moment your guests turn it on.
Lastly, I expect that these "rustic" places will have few outlets, but this could easily be enhanced with a charging station of some type. There was a power strip, but much of it was dedicated to other devices already.
I will NOT be staying here again.
3.4
no TP no way to get it. poor bed quality. noisy from the road. bedcovers should be burned--stained. coffee maker didn't work. overall BAD.
3.4
No one in sight had text if any problems door to our room was wide open queen didn’t like the darkness of the shower

The bedding seems not cleaned

This is a bare bones type of property. There is a coffee maker, but no coffee or filters. No tissues. No extra roll of toilet paper. We were supplied with 2 towels for 2 people for 2 days. No washcloths. I texted and called for more towels and got no response. Only after I texted something slightly snarky were we given more towels, but this was after we used our beach towels that we brought for the lake. Bad lighting. The property is older, and I would have been able to overlook that if the service was good. We felt kind of abandoned there with no support from the staff. This one is not worth the money. Stay elsewhere if you can.
3.4
A great inexpensive place to stay to enter RMNP from the west. It didn’t have toilet paper, the shower was fairly dark, and room 1 had a lot of noise from the water pump. But I would stay again. The check in process with entry codes to your room was very easy.
3.4
When we came, the door is opened, door's keypad is not work. Ì door close, outside cannot open.
3.4
Not a bad place to just sleep and have somewhere to shower. Although the shower in room 10 needs adjusting literally have to be up against the wall just to get under the water flow. Fix this and it would have been a better experience. Also recommend training your cleaning staff better. Actually wiping things down with some Lysol or cleaning solution would do wonders.
3.4
The minute we pulled up into the parking lot we immediately felt unsafe. The place looked run down and a man was walking by each room and went around the building. We left and saw him scratching his leg and then he went back around to where all the rooms were. We did not feel safe enough to stay there. The room smelled and there was mold in the bathroom and also a rat trap next to the table and chairs. We are requesting a refund for this stay. I also recommend that you remove this place from your site.

Near lake

Stayed here 50 years ago and it has regressed. The owners need to spend some money and modernize the bathroom. Do not stay here

Close to everything!!

Check in process was similar to staying at Airbnb which was super easy and we were able to spend extra time driving down from Mount Blue Sky summit. Pleasantly surprised to see the floorplan and extra effort to make the room clean for our visit. View from window was beautiful mountain view with lake and the trees in the foreground. Inn location was close to both Granby and Grand Lake village and the west side entrance to Rocky mountain national park. Our room had two bedrooms, bathroom with shower, refrigerator and microwave. There was a heater but no air conditioning, which wasn't a problem for us. We would definitely stay there again if we were ever in the area and again .
