Room was clean although very small. No heating on so room was cold. Bathroom ceiling window couldnt be closed so very drafty. On the plus side plenty of tea coffee and biscuits etc.

great valve for money, friendly staff, great food nice little find. Will go back.

We only had an overnight stay because we were attending a wedding nearby however we wish we'd had more time to experience the pub and food because it looked wonderful. The room was really comfortable and had a wide selection of teas, coffee and milk to cater for all requirements. Oat milk was a big plus for us! Would definitely recommend and would be happy to stay again when we're in the area.

Small and basic but clean and convenient for our purpose. Limited menu if you are wish to eat but reasonable prices. Overall good value.

On arrival we were met by Elliot the owner who was very jolly and friendly, the inn did home cooking and being a ex chef I found the food was excellent so much so we ate in nearly every night, they had music , also live music on Saturday but this ceased each night by 10.30pm our stay was that good we can’t wait to return next year

We stayed for one night before going across to the Scilly’s. The room was charming, but small but fine for one night. Bed was comfy. There was only a tiny little mirror in the bathroom which was awkward. Lovely selection of teas, coffee & even oat milk in the room. The staff were absolutely lovely, friendly & helpful. I would stay there again.

Excellent value for money. Nice food in the pub. Staff very friendly. Quieter than we expected and the shop and chipshop just 2 mins walk was very convenient. Little fridge in room and tea and coffee facilities. We have booked again for next year x

The room we stayed in was clean and well presented. The pub downstairs closed around 11pm and after that it was really quiet and peaceful.

Amazing service, nice room and excellent food.
Thank you .

We probably won’t be staying again, simply down to the incessant noise coming from underneath us until well after midnight. Constant loud talking and musak that never stopped or got turned down. Not a chance of getting any sleep. Total disregard for all of us staying overnight and having to get up early the next morning. Such a shame but that is the only reason we wouldn’t stay again.

Booked due to proximity to Minack Theatre and it is a good base for exploring the area. Penzance is walkable and it’s a nice area. Bit noisy as the room was directly above the pub, but overall would recommend.

Friendly staff, good parking, close to amenities... Would recommend.. But check you have enough towels if getting up early..

A friendly reception and very convenient pub restaurant providing good food at reasonable prices with the adjacent full pub bar service. The room was spacious and clean.

Friendly staff and welcoming.
Only issues are mattress is soft and there aren’t any mirrors either in the bathroom or bedroom.
Not a quiet stay with traffic noise and from the pub below.

Arriving at the port, there were no taxis unless pre-booked. The hotel would do well to warn guests... I phoned for advice and it was suggested that I could easily walk it in about 15 mins. However the directions were not great and it took me half an hour of uphill with a heavy wheeled suitcase to pull on a hot afternoon. I arrived very hot and tired.
The room was comfortable but noisy, looking out over a busy road and as I was unable to close the sash window.

Very good room, clean and tidy. Lovely staff and a great pub experience. Would recommend.

The Pirate Inn is a local pub, and can be quite busy and noisy on a Saturday night, however the atmosphere is great. The location is good - a short walk to the main shopping area. The room was spacious and comfortable. It's a 300 year old pub, so naturally the floors are crooked! We had an excellent three nights at the Pirate Inn. Recommended.

Nice easy going environment. Welcoming staff. A 10 minute walk or short bus ride into town. Sadly no breakfast but I was very happy with what I ate off the menu - a gammon steak platter which sorted me out for the rest of the day after my arrival. Had a nice room (room 3) with plentiful teas, coffee, hot choc laid on overlooking their lovely sunny beer garden, which wasn't so great when I tried to get an afternoon kip on day 2 and a heavy rock band struck up. Unlucky lol, one can't choose to stay at a pub then complain about the noise, so as the old saying goes if you can't beat them join them, so I got out of bed and got a pint. Not my kind of music but the band were good at their game and created a great atmosphere amongst a happy dancing crowd. Only real let down was returning that night to catch last orders before bed only to find that the bar was closed and no other bars nearby, but all the action was earlier on and everyone was tired I guess and everyone else had gone home. I had beers in the room which they also didn't mind. Overall an enjoyable stay and I would have no qualms about booking there if I was to visit Penzance again.

Although two beds in the room one was not made up. Did not realise this until we were ready to go to bed so too late to arrange clean bedding.
Shower was so tiny and thankfully we are both small - landlord should try it to realise just how bad it is ! Terrible water flow going hot to cold and no room to dry in the cupboard/bathroom, and so noisey when you flushed the toilet.
Food - evening meal they had run out of almost everything on menu so had yucky fish & chips

Nice small place! Friendly staff! But no breakfast option

Good place to stay. Value for money. Pub music went off at 10pm so perfect.

A stark contrast to a previous stay at a different property. Clean and well presented. Only drawback was the lack of ventilation in the bathroom/toilet and water seeping onto the floor when taking a shower. There was skylight in the bathroom but this had a very old rusty mechanism which was difficult to operate and could not be used.

Stayed here two nights while hiking the South West Coast Path. The owners were nice enough to accept and hold a parcel for me, with the stuff I didn't want to carry every day while hiking.
Nice airy room, very comfortable bed and bedding. The fridge in the room was very much appreciated.

If you like good old fashioned pub stay with quirky bits to make your stay memorable the Pirate will give it. Lovely walking trail nearby and good pub food.

We arrived late and there was no-where open where we could eat . The Pirate Inn was also no longer serving meals but the chef very kindly made us fish and chips which we were very grateful for so top marks to him . All the staff were great and although room basic it was clean and comfortable . We were catching ferry to Isles of Scilly following day and it was ideal as parking for ferry is 5 mins away
